I have disc degeneration in my neck and lower back and have a Service Dog that was trained to assist me with forward momentum using a side bracket attached to the wheel hub on the wheel. I don't have the use of my neighbor's recumbent bike since I moved out of state. I know one day the frayed nerve cord down my legs will sever completely and I'll be needing a wheelchair since I'll be completely paralyzed. I don't have strong upper body strength especially when the nerves in my neck are being pinched on vertebrae grinding bone on bone and my fingers, hands sometimes have pain/numbness when I tried moving a wheelchair when I went to hospital for PT. One of my therapists of bringing my Mobility Service Dog to train more in assisting me when I am paralyzed and full time in a wheelchair. I'm not yet needing a wheelchair to move about the small apt. I live in, but have been unable to go for the walks 2 X's a day or do anything outdoors for a long time. The arthritis in my back, neck and legs has been bad this last winter. But when I saw your video on the mountain bike of wheelchairs, I was excited and wanting to regain independence and freedom to be outdoors again. I wouldn't be able to afford to buy one of your wheelchairs, but could you help me be able to modify a medical wheelchair I can apply for through my medical insurance? I've looked at the Sacco quad carts, but it wouldn't fit inside or easily go through the doorway...and of course I can't afford 5-6 thousand dollars. The neighbor came up with the idea of me getting tubing from Home Depot and making it into a bracket to bolt to his recumbent bike, he also modified it with a battery to assist even him up hills (he had bad knees) so when needed I could help my Service Dog when going up hills or steep driveways etc. I would deeply appreciate any help and info. on how I can modify me a wheelchair to be able to gain access to being outdoors again. Especially after nearly 2 yrs. of Covid lockdown.
brilliant stuff guys... best of luck in your work across the world. anyone in the third world lucky enough to have a freedom chair will have their life transformed. bravo you guys.
What a brain you have, that is the best comment, work the lever on a cog and when you move the lever forward then backwards the cog is making a full rotation, should be simple for these guys, I hope they do it, add another cog halfway up the lever handle is how I think it could be done

A very good product, great for quadriplegic, this is a push and pull system
I love mine. I have mounts for my fishing rods, gun rake, all removable as needed.
It's opened doors back up.
Would love to see some pics of your mounts. My freedom Chair should be here any day.
Where can you buy freedom chair in usa

I like that it says affordable but the chairs cost $3,000
which is more than some of the currently available nicer manual wheelchairs
Like a rowing motion front and back but needs to be able to turn right and left also for a amputated person but no motor
Hola buen día me gustaría saber dónde puedo conseguir información sobre esta adaptación
How can we engineer the hub to get power on both strokes of the crank levers?

As a mechanical engineer,I'm here for mechanism but OK!! An yahh!! U showed wrong Indian map!!
Why do they cost thousands of dollars in the United States? We have a lot of low income families and Medicare does will not pay that much. Please try.
