Agreed these 1970s 2nd generation Firebirds and all their variants are iconic American classics recognised throughout the world. This car fully deserves some sympathetic restoration treatment. Considering it's been idle for so long it's in remarkable shape.
Happy Monday y'all! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that your week got off to a great start today! As soon as I saw this car again, The Rockford Files theme started playing in my head! 😂
Most of his Formulas gad hood slits like GTO. James Garner owned his own production co. so he got to choose what car he drove on the show. He liked Firebirds and there was a Pontiac dealer nearby the studio office.
I came here for the videos. I will keep coming back for many reasons. One that stood out to me in this video was how sincerely thankful he is to the fans. I thought that was really awesome!
@@Flashdirt As soon as we finish up the GMC rebuild, I’m blowing this can apart and we’re restoring it! Wasn’t in the cards just yet but I feel it’s a car worth doing it to! Cant wait to share 😃
@@Jstme303We try to keep true to our roots. Waiting and saving for years now to get to the point of having a lift. We live week to week. It was a very inexpensive one. But truly, something we felt would help tremendously with our rebuild efforts here on the channel.

A Firebird and a mullet a match made in heaven. Heck all you need is some Lynard Skynard and all will be right in the world. Congrats on the lift that just saved you a lot of work going forward.
Glad to see you guys have a lift, I've been watching since you brought the Porsche home, and all you've done is get better and better at bringing these cars back to life. 😁👍
Great work! 👍 I'm hoping for a fifth episode showing off the new interior. BTW, I have two Pontiac Firebid cars in my garage. A Pontiac Firebird 350 convertible, built in 1968 and a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 6.6 liter, built in 1978. Both in very good original condition after restoration.
Luxury Lift.....so deserved....you two must really appreciate that lift....The wig sketch was really funny....🤔😳😏😏😀🇬🇧 Love my 7 speed Audi automatic though...lol...
I love your channel and I specially love what you did with the Firebird. I cannot wait to see the interior installation and bodywork. Looking forward to the next video on the Pontiac.
One thing with a Saginaw, the shift linkage tab bolts on the transmission should have a special washer that you bend the tabs up. You really want those on there, trust me.
You did the 911 on the ground, now You have a lift!!! Congrets, I hope you give the bird what it needs a new interior and a 5/6 speed gearbox and You have a hell of a nice car!!! Very good video and i’m looking for more, Greetz from the Netherlands , ramon
Yeah Brothers, that lift is JUST what the doctor ordered! I need to get something like that too, then maybe I'll feel like working on something. Keep up the great vids and glad I'm subscribed!
From Fire-turd to Fired-UP-Burd, that is one hellacious ride!!! She is runnin' like a scalded dawg!!! Kudos to another sweetly-rehabbed rig and BONUS kudos for that well-bought lift - keepin' it inside the BB ballpark! Cheers!!!
Like you said that lift is a game changer. You have given yourself a whole new vantage point on your rebuilds and as a non and I mean non mechanically inclined person it is a fascinating viewpoint.
Had that 3 speed Sag in my street stock dirt track car. Second gear foot to the firewall, behind a 406 monster. Went from a 355 to 383 to the beast 406.
I love that car and there's hardly any rust and it sounds awesome, that would look great re-built it didn't hang about either, they were well built in those days compared to these days. keep it up guys love it and your wig lol.
Putting a four-speed in that firebird definitely was the way2go. You guys only look like you enjoy the new lift, it's certainly going to make your lives a whole lot easier. I'm looking forward to seeing their future upgrades to the firebird. Keep up the good work and the cool videos guys 👍✌️🇺🇲

As being a sand and gravel for 30 years . always shifted my own! Direct drive get ya home as sluschboxes will leave waiting for your buds to help ya...Mech trans can't be broken except error... Thank you for doing this!
With the fire bird, being some what of a America Classic.. I would like to see some kind of a full restore (Budget wise) like you did with the Porche.

Rockford did not drive formulas. He drove esprit’s. The base model. None of his cars ever had the formula hood
