I really hope you all enjoy! This has been a fun rescue and we can’t wait for what’s to come! ** I noticed a comment about me using a curse word. I may have used a euphemism (which I should not have) but this is a family friendly channel and we don’t curse. If it sounded that way then I apologize, and I am sorry if I upset anyone.
What curse word did you used? Some people will say a Chevy in a Pontiac is a curse ,and if that is what you said we will forgive you. Kidding aside I really enjoy the video.
This was my sister's car. I'm surprised it cranked. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with her and that old chevy pickup you got. I'm glad you got them both. I hated to see them sit there and rust away. Congratulations on your find! Looking forward to seeing more videos! 👍
Love seeing a Pontiac come back to life. Being the proud owner of a 69 Firebird I love it when more make it back on the road. Another great video, thank you for what you do!!
It certainly has The Rockford Files vibe going for it, they used the Formula 400 model for the show and they took off the spoiler in back and used a base model hood, in order to make the car appear plain. Yours actually has the right factory colour combo and Rallye wheels with the saddle tan interior too! What an incredible find. James Garner would have gotten a kick out of this video for sure.
Just came across your video . Warms my heart to see you working with your dad I'm 62 my dad is 88 we work in the woods I bought a brand new Firebird same year when they came out and I still have it up to this day I don't take it out much I ordered it with gray primer I took it to a friend of mine that Painted light sky blue now it's sitting up on jack stands in my garage I'm keeping it for my son . Good videos for good people .
I started watching your channel because of the Porsche. This is the kind of content I love to see. I had two Firebirds back in the day; a 1973 Esprit and a 1977 Formula.
I love that your dad left his job to join you in this adventure. I hope that he gets to be much more involved, I bet it would be so rewarding for both of you. Please give him my best. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for a father to join his son in something amazing.
Good to see ya fellers together bringing back an old PONCHO!! Did some w/1972 Luxury Lemans. I'm loving when folks get hold of Poncho's and Olds's, hell, they ain't making 'em no more, some of the best muscle ever!! And I ain't B.S. n. I think I heard father and son; that's a GREAT way to follow your passion, fellas. Go get 'em guys, maybe there's a 3rd generation you could get to hand wrenches, just saying, trying to keep the good stuff going! PEACE, LOVE AND MUSCLE CARS, as our friend NICK from his garage in MONTREAL penned! Just ordered t-shirt from NICK'S you tube channel.
Still have the "Rockford Files" theme running in my head.Yes,I did wonder how well it would do a 'Rockford turn' too.Sweet save.Allot more work for whomever finishes it,but it's worth it.Thanks guys.
It's great seeing the joy and enthusiasm on your faces when you get these cars running. Content on this channel is fantastic. Avid watcher from the United Kingdom.
WELL HOWDY B.B.,, THESE ARE GREAT CARS AND THIS ONE WANTS TO LIVE ,, TREAT THIS OLD GIRL GOOD THERE HARD TO FIND THESE CARS... HAVE FUN YOU AND YOUR DAD!!! WE NEED TO SEE PART 2,,.. SHORT VIDEO!!!! THANK'S GUY'S,...
My advice wether you want it or not. GM 350's run 20w50. Pennzoil is rubbish oil, use Valvoline VR1 racing oil as it has lots of zinc in it, I use it on all my old engines. Don't use purple power on alloy. It etches / corrodes alloy and strips all the anodizing off which causes further corrosion. I hope this helps.
Plenty of Gm products but not as many sitting off the road. I'm not a Ford guy but I enjoy the classics and the channel especially from a local guy as your self. And I appreciate the comment about the language . I know you both keep it clean and family friendly!🙏👍✝️
If you're in SC you aren't too far from me.... like seeing the old girl come to life. If you end up parting it or swapping hoods, I'd be very interested in that Formula hood. I have a 78 myself I'm working on.
Oh, that was fun! I used to buy and sell Firebirds and Camaros 30 years ago. I'm in Ontario. Anything lower than a crop sprayer sitting in a field for 21 years isn't worth dragging out, so I'm living vicariously through yootoobers like you. Great stuff!
Just found this channel. I was already enjoying it but after you pulled the spark plugs, turned the engine by hand, AND changed the oil before starting the car, I had to subscribe instantly. Infuriates me to no end when people find a 30 year old car and start trying to turn it on instantly. Great video.
as a teen car jockey (1976-79) at a Toronto Pontiac/Buick/Cadillac dealership, i drove these when brand new, on a weekly basis, using the salesmans demos, or driving 5 miles to the car wash before customers picked up their new ones....i also drove the special edition Indy500 pace cars, and those were rare.....its odd to look at them in these decrepid conditions.....would love to see an original Special Edition....not many were made, with even fewer available in canada
This Firebird has good bones - it definitely wants to live. Would be nice to see a sympathetic mini build - new rear quarter and some paint interior etc - it's a cool car.
There was one of these in the uk in a front garden it sat for 20 years a young fella rescued it and got it running along with a 68 mustang and a pontiac convertable i see the firebird every so often as its his daily driver now .
I like 👍 the fire 🔥 bird 🦅 I think 🤔 it will run 🏃♀️ it looks like 👍 a good one ☝️ I’m old school 🏫 and I like 👍 to see them stay original inside and outside you have a great 👍 day
You guys are my favorite team. You do things right and get these cars back the right way. So many other channels that hack everything for clickbait. And you sir, are the carb rebuilding king. All the ones you touch, you fix right!
I had a 1977 Formula Firebird in 1980 it was silver w/Formula stickers on side door bottoms hood scoops and fin, raised white letter BFG Radial T/As 350 OLD MOBILE engine, 4bbl, auto trans, chrome exhaust tips, fake dual exhaust, loaded with emissions but it looked fast! Lol, chick magnet for sure luxurious red interior, and dont forget Pioneer super tuner. thanks for the great vids and jolting my memories out of the cobwebs!.
Great job on this project. My son in Powdersville has a 78 Trans Am survivor car that he takes to Easley cars and coffee on the second Saturday mornings. I have been hooked on your channel since I found it and so glad to see you and your dad saving these cars and trucks! I am a Mopar guy and was curious about the yellow Mopar in the background. I live in Anderson and have a 70 Challenger for my hobby. I will have to keep my eyes peeled for you guys when we are Easley way. Wayne Scott
Here in Pennsylvania we don’t have dirt Dobbers but we do have the rust and we got some of the most critical state inspections vehicle has to be pretty much perfect to pass inspection
I cant wait till the day that your channel allows you and your dad to be able to buy his own and your "dream" car a huge shop with lifts and anything else that floats your alls boat! I get joy of watching hard working good ol' boys succeed!
Just watching this video of you bringing that Firebird back to life is so much fun. I can't imagine what it feels like to actually be able to do this. Thanks for sharing the experience!
Great find. It’s shocking that there are still so many undiscovered old muscle era cars out there abandoned with the potential to run and drive once more. I applaud your enthusiasm and adventures! ❤ the content and channel.
Just got a 78 formula recently. 63,3xx original miles. Has the 403 olds factory motor in it. Super awesome car so far. Been sitting 15 years so gotta bring it back to life
Excellent Content On This, Love The Bond Your Father & You Have Getting These Old Rigs Rolling Again, Makes Me Think About The Bond My Father And I Had, Before He Went Home, As A Child My Father Had ‘77 T-Top 400 Formula Like That, That Brings Back Lots Of Memories, God Bless You Gentlemen, Keep Up The Amazing Work!!
Can't wait to see this thing come back to life!!!! Love these f bodies. Next time I'm visiting family in Spartanburg I might get lucky enough to see this thing driving around😁
Love an old firebird / trans am - such an iconic shape. This one deserves a full restoration imho, lovely colour too. Also curious about the burnt offering keeping her company in the yard. Maverick? Doesn't look to be much left.
I saw one of these sitting in the weeds in West Virginia about seven years ago. I wonder if it is still there? It was black and gold, I think. I love this channel. Keep putting out good content. And don't try to rush it. You've got something awesome going on, because it is so authentic.
That Firebird is a survivor! Great content would be removing the rusted out sections of the body and frame rails to show us how to do that correctly. You and your dad do extraordinary stuff with sometimes sketchy cars. Good job re-igniting the fire in the Firebird!!
The Winston Winner tires should still be around. I have a set (all be it older set from around '07 or so) on my 68 Dart and they still hold air as well. You should still be able to find them. Though a set of Cooper Cobra Radial GT's would look great on there too.
Looks like a solid car. Likely somebody transplanted a 350 and place it a piece of crap 301, which is what came in the Pontiac not a 305 which is a Chevy. It sounds really good and I'm looking forward to see what becomes of her. Keep up the great work guys 👍✌️🇺🇲
Just discovered your channel as I love to watch these old left for dead rescues, and I have to say, you sure do have charisma(which a lot of youtubers lack) in front of the camera which keeps the viewer interest. And you seem like a real down to earth kind of fella. Got yourself a sub!👍
A true classic last of the 78 models especially with the rally 2 steel wheels 15X7 love these style of wheels let's hope she is restored n back on the road
Congrats on getting that old Firebird back to life! Makes me want to get back to my '75 Firebird/Trans Am clone and get her where she needs to be! Subscribed!
nice firechicken..that poor old burnt up mavrick hurts my feelings..my first car was a 70 mavrick..i can see yall doing a resto on it though..cheers from Bama
Can't wait to meet you and your dad in person AND see that incredible 911! PLEASE let us know when you guys will be out and about. I dont mind driving a few miles for it.
Well alright guys! it's always a joy when you start a car that is been stop for long time. I must confess that I envy you😅 for the joy that you have doing what you love👌✌️, thank you for sharing🙏🏽. I use to work on my car and I love it, but now I am in wheelchair. Cheers from Portugal! 🙏🏽✌️🇵🇹🇲🇿😎

I wouldn't worry about that, kids on their TikTok apps these days see and hear things 10x worse.
Your fan club appreciates your commitment to clean language. 🤩🤩🤩
What curse word did you used? Some people will say a Chevy in a Pontiac is a curse ,and if that is what you said we will forgive you. Kidding aside I really enjoy the video.
These videos seem to keep getting better and better. Looking forward to seeing this firebird come back from its dormant stage.
Don't worry Mike :) you slip that bad word out by accident and was super happy but was mistake that all!
I have met this man face to face and his dad. They are both quality people. Glad to see you picked up another good one.
This was my sister's car. I'm surprised it cranked. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with her and that old chevy pickup you got. I'm glad you got them both. I hated to see them sit there and rust away. Congratulations on your find! Looking forward to seeing more videos! 👍
So happy for you that you and your dad are doing this together. Hope you find time to enjoy all the feauture builds together
So true Alexander!
Love seeing a Pontiac come back to life. Being the proud owner of a 69 Firebird I love it when more make it back on the road. Another great video, thank you for what you do!!
I had 2 ,69 Firebirds , Sold them years ago ,Great cars ,.
I’m really glad you enjoyed! I bet your ‘69 is great 😃 I can’t wait to share more on this one! Thank you so much!
Looking forward to seeing this one cleaned up. Always liked these growing up in the 70’s and 80’s.
James Garner would have gotten a kick out of this video for sure.
used a esprit the firstseason and wood not stand the abuse hey switched to formulas
that’s interesting about the Rockford files info, didn’t know that. why in the world would someone leave a beauty like that to sit and rot away?😔
Now it needs to be painted black with gold striping and that big ol' badass Phoenix on the hood. Find the period correct wheels too. I love that car.
Good to see ya fellers together bringing back an old PONCHO!! Did some w/1972 Luxury Lemans. I'm loving when folks get hold of Poncho's and Olds's, hell, they ain't making 'em no more, some of the best muscle ever!! And I ain't B.S. n. Hey man just wanted to thank you for your content, its really helpful to people who are doing restos like me
Thank you so much for the kind comment 😊 I’m really glad it’s helpful!
Yeah, so many of those cable tv cars shows "well, we have to rip this engine out an drop in a create motor." budget Buildz actually fixes what he has.
Yep definitely always a good idea dropping the nasty 35+year oil before circulating it through the engine again.
I still have a ste of original Raised white letter Firestone S/S Radials from my '76 Trans Am in the garage.
Ohhhhh...we are here for ALL of this one!! Let's goo!!
I hope you enjoy!! 😊
That Burnt Maverick looks like it'll be a challenge.
Find out next week 😊
I know we're a maverick grabber is sitting. No running gearin it.
Plenty of Gm products but not as many sitting off the road. I'm not a Ford guy but I enjoy the classics and the channel especially from a local guy as your self. And I appreciate the comment about the language . I know you both keep it clean and family friendly!🙏👍✝️

While I am a Ford man, I do have to say those Chevy 350 motors are hard to kill. Good to hear her running again. As a kid I loved Firebirds.

Formidable. You are the first guys i see on youtube who check a motor before starting it after a couple of years!
This Firebird has good bones - it definitely wants to live. Would be nice to see a sympathetic mini build - new rear quarter and some paint interior etc - it's a cool car.
Brings back memories, I had a 79 trans am and 73 formula

Sounds great!! Good find. She's crying for a new exhaust
One of the rare non-Mopar things that I truly love-in one of my favorite years. You must REALLY want me to come and visit.
Please let me know if you have any questions. My Fury's best friend knows everything that there is to know about these.
I am really enjoy watching ur vdeo

Dang unbelievable that is awesome idle smooth like that
Please do some sort or restoration on this and make it clean. She does deserve that!
Always fun to see what flies out of the tailpipes on first good run.

Chevys never die they just fade away.
Some of them want to live again. This is definitely one of them. She won't lie down....🤔🤔😳😏😏😀🇬🇧 Such a classic car...😏
Thank you for such a great video. Keep this old girl and give her the love she needs.
Amazing! What you and your dad do really is magical to people like me who only wish they had the knowledge you have. Another fantastic video!
The joy in your face bringing this bad boy to life, reminds me of working on cars with my dad. Keep it up. Love these vids.
Can't wait to see this thing come back to life!!!! Love these f bodies. Next time I'm visiting family in Spartanburg I might get lucky enough to see this thing driving around😁
It’s a GM. They are iron proof to get them to run. Personally I’m a Ford guy but it’s nice to see these cars running again. Great content.

Phone rings. Answering machine kick in. Hello James Rockford. Your car that was stolen 21 years ago has been found sitting in a field.
💀💀💀

I've always liked the look of the Formulas better than the Trans Ams. What a restoration project! Looking forward to the next.
Another interesting project Trans Am,wish you all best guys👍🇲🇰
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the video. Thanks for watching😊
It’s a Firebird, not a Trans Am.
@Budget Buildz hey guys I'm in Moncks Corner and I just wanna say that I enjoy your content and keep up the good work!!
Just discovered your channel as I love to watch these old left for dead rescues, and I have to say, you sure do have charisma(which a lot of youtubers lack) in front of the camera which keeps the viewer interest. And you seem like a real down to earth kind of fella.
Got yourself a sub!👍
Both of you men are awesome and did a great job on one of my favorite cars, and we call em dirt dobbers here in Arkansas 😉👍
I was shocked right down to the ground when this car actually started!! Can't wait to see what happens next. Loved the Rockford Files reference.
NICE TO SEE YOUR DAD GETTING INTO THE BUILD
This is sensational work guys!! You’re having way too much fun!! Can’t wait to see what you do this one. Good old American Muscle💪💪💪
What an awesome find 👏👌😎 and you and your dad are both working on it .

Jim Rockford would be proud of you guys .Great car.
Wow u have a skill to repair it😍 the old car u can do it!!
That's awesome, it'll be a nice driver. The copper reminds me of the car James Rockford drove.
Hopefully you can get this thing fixed up and looking good then do a little photo shoot with the Porsche!
Sounds like a great plan!!
That's a nice old rescue you can't beat them old 350 engines nice job
I really enjoy your work, and what i like very mutch is the way you work together with your father, respect man🙏🙏
Finally someone is saving a car I’m interested about. I love Pontiacs
This is going to be a good one 😁👍
I do hope you enjoy!
Always 😁
The underside is in great condition and it runs pretty good 👍 👌 😀. Maybe it's worth fixing up?
Rockford Files for sure! Man I would love to have this car!
That scream when the ignition went on 😂😂😂😂
Awesome to see it running ! Well done !
