I personally wouldn’t paint the back bumper valance black. I’d make the exhaust tips more prominent to add interest to the lower bumper. It’s a nice red.
I agree. I've had three birds. I currently have a fourth gen Trans Am. I see people spray the lower bumper black and to me it looks ghetto. trashy, ricey... whatever you want to say, but I think it looks dumb! These cars have a unique enough look not to go messing around in that rear end🤔😝
I've had good results with tea tree oil mixed with white vinegar to kill mold spores and remove mildew from washable surfaces. Thanks for showing us the Harbor Freight Steam Cleaner. I think you could use some peppermint oil in the water reservoir to leave a nice fragrance and keep the rodents and mosquitoes away.
She cleaned up really nice! This video is taking me back! These were the muscle cars of my high school days. You had the fast and furious wannabes with their Hondas, Toyotas and Nissans. Then you had the guys who drove the camaros, mustangs and trans ams of this generation. I love it!!
No body through’s out the 8-tracks in your 60’s & 70’s classic… no one through’s out the cassette’s in your 70’s & 80’s classic… & nobody though’s out the C.D.’s in your 80’& 90’s classic, especially The Bee Gee’s! 😇
What a find! The previous owners sure trashed the interior and the mice and mold spores finished it off. It was satisfying to see the result of your detail work. Underneath the crud and trash is a pretty well kept car. Hope that you get it running and driving.
Hi ! I have a 94 Trans Am I bought new in june of 94. It has 338.000 miles on it now and the engine has never been touched. Even the timing chain is original. Still runs like new. 3000 mile oil changes,, Castrol GTX. Lifelong Southern California car, meticulously maintained mechanically and physically. Despite the high mileage, it looks nearly new, inside and out.. was my daily driver till 2005 when I bought a new car,, but is still used for fun, pleasure. Enjoyed this video, sad to see this car in such condition at so little mileage!! You may not know that mine cost approximately 40.000 dollars in today's money, they weren't cheap.
Using an ozone generator would kill the mold and any toxin build u from vinyl or foam and other plastics…. The smaller ones aren’t terribly expensive, especially for an industrious ca guy like you. Absolutely LOVE your channel, especially the Porche rebuild and also the resurrecting of these older engines. Keep it up!!! LarryS
What an impressive detail! I enjoyed this video. I remember when these Pontiacs were popular during the 90's. I was driving a little Pontiac Sunfire when these Trans Ams were giving Ford Mustangs of that era hell.
My daily driver for 16 years was a red 1993 Trans Am I picked up used in 1997. It was sad to get rid of it but it needed a few things and I needed a new car. It is still on the road with a new paint job and other work. I still miss it. Seeing this clean up was nice. This one is in better shape than mine was, at least the paint. Mine was cleaner because it was never parked and cleaned often, but sitting outside took its toll on the paint. I am looking forward to seeing this one fire up. Hopefully it's something common like the optispark or the ICM.
That's the one thing I always miss...clean the car first...I lived in Germany too long, I guess? They always keep it neat. But you did a nice job. Rob, Cairns
Nice job, beautiful car. something I would of did thought such as power washing before foaming, 2nd I would of clay barred after the hand washing and finally would of put a ozone generator in it to kill any mold in spots you could not reach or clean easy like the undersides of the seats and dash. oh you need to get a fire bird sticker for the front too.
Beautiful car! I love it. Back in high school, a dream car was a 2000 Trans-Am with hood scoops and T-Tops. My first car was an 89 TA, I also had an 82 TA that I set up for drag racing a while back. To add in a comment on the rear bumper I would say to paint just the grove black and that will make it pop.
I think you did an amazing job. The only thing I would not have changed were the rims!!! The ones you put on are the same as everyone else's 😕😕😕. Keep those originals!!!
So glad you washed and cleaned this car before working on it. I will never understand the attraction some you tubers have to working on a filthy, greasy rat poop infested vehicle and, many times with bare hands. Just not necessary either for content or for reviving a vehicle. The steam cleaner wand is a great choice, One more tool you could add is a small home use extraction type carpet/upholstery cleaner machine. Bissel makes a great one. It will do wonders for getting dirt and smell out of carpets, headliners and cloth seats. Also handy around the house.
As a professional detailer... If I can advise you... first rinse, the water alone will soften up the dirt... Then you apply the soap/foam... Foam does not really soak in as a first application, creates more work for your pressure wadher... Think of washing a car like washing your body... You don't apply bodywash before you enter your shower... All the best✊🏼
A good ozone generator works wonders on musty muoldy cars. Just dont sit in trhe car when its on, leave the doors open afterwards to let the residual ozone drift off. great video 2x👍
I wouldn't paint the bottom of the back bumper. But I would make the exhaust tips come out to the edge of the back bumper. Those wheels are looking great on there
Another wonderful video that I loved to watch to the end. Still wondering what happened with the Willys truck … love to see how it drives … ! Keep on going, you’re doing well.
That is a beautiful car. Very nicely detailed. I would leave the rear bumper alone and put some nice tips on it. Personally i like this better than the Porsche 😂
if you are gonna paint the back panel do it with the excellent peelable paints that are available now , then at any time you can put it back to original nice job
Hey buddy, first time viewer and subscriber. I have a ‘98 TransAm same color. I bought it new, will have her to the grave. Can send you a pic or two if you would like to see. Been well kept. Big Al.
Hi. Nice car they don't build them as they used to Wash is great too as always v.good. 👌👌👌👍👍👍👍.I almost forgot what do you with these cars when you started it?Do you keep them or sell them?
I owned a Z28 same year many years ago. Same color but the entire roof and A pillars were painted black from the factory. I thought it complemented it. This TA would benefit from that as well.
True Boy George story: A former co-worker has a used CD businss on the side. That co-worker had a friend come up from down state to see a Culture Club concert. The friend brought with him a bunch of CD's to support the business as a thanks for putting him up in a hotel to attend the concert. As my co-worker was talking the box of CD's down to his car, Boy George joined him in the elevator. They spoke briefly about the CD's and the concert. He told George about his friend's long trip just to see the concert. George took his name and said that he would have front row tickets waiting for him at the "will call" area.
I'm hoping the undercarriage is in good shape. Dont know its in the rustbelt or not. My 94 that's lived in Southern California since new looks nearly brand new underneath. Hopefully this one does too.
For moldy stuff, no need for "fancy" sprays. A damp, *not wet*, cloth with soapy water and lil' choolox will clean as well and actually kills the mold. For the carpets, a carpet cleaning injector/vacuum machine with dedicated "soap" (water softener actually) with a dab of chlorox again will deep clean and deodorise. Rinse and rinse again. THEN, the dehumifier, or in summer, 12 hours or sun will do it, windows fully opened. Decades of experience talking here... PS Never, ever power walh a car with the nozzle at 90° on the painted surface. It pushes the grime into the paint ! You want to spray at a 45° angle if not at 30° at at least 18" from the surface.
I have the exact same car ! Look at my videos, I have like two of it. I bought it in 2020 with 63k miles. I’ve done Strano lowering springs and koni shocks, new wheels and tires and a petris opti. Oh and a panhard bar.
You need an OZONE Machine to pull the orders and kill the mold in that car, NOT a dehumidifier. Moisture got inside because the frameless windows drop slightly when opened. When the battery died they auto dropped so the doors could be opened without damage.
I personally wouldn’t paint the back bumper valance black. I’d make the exhaust tips more prominent to add interest to the lower bumper. It’s a nice red.
Yeah, painting the rear bumper would make it look like a HOOPTI, not good.
Yep, leave it as original. The new wheels were an option at the time and that's cool.
Collectors want OEM. Including the exhaust pipes. Again, OEM !
I totally agree!!
I agree. I've had three birds. I currently have a fourth gen Trans Am. I see people spray the lower bumper black and to me it looks ghetto. trashy, ricey... whatever you want to say, but I think it looks dumb! These cars have a unique enough look not to go messing around in that rear end🤔😝
That car is way too nice and original to paint that bumper black.
Nice. It is not often you find a car worth the time you put in, but the results speak for themselves.

Everything you did, every choice on the Trans Am was so perfect. What a wonderful video…
Now go run to the rubbish and get those C.D.’s back!
No body through’s out the 8-tracks in your
60’s & 70’s classic… no one through’s out the cassette’s in your 70’s & 80’s classic… & nobody though’s out the C.D.’s in your 80’& 90’s classic, especially The Bee Gee’s! 😇
Go get all of the cd’s Except for the boy George cd.
...:
I kinda more like to see barn found cars not only cleaned but also put in running condition. This surely makes my day!
Nice rescue.
Glad you changed those wheels!
I cant wait to see this one running.
Thank you for saving this! Great job!
For sure the back bumper should be black. Looks real good guys. Awesome job.
Wow looks really nice now. Great work as always
Looks great. Can’t wait to see the next one. Brilliant work and thanks for sharing this with us take care
Painting that bumper is a great idea. Exhaust tips should be boxed to fit the bumper cut outs.
What a find! The previous owners sure trashed the interior and the mice and mold spores finished it off. It was satisfying to see the result of your detail work. Underneath the crud and trash is a pretty well kept car. Hope that you get it running and driving.
That turned out totally gorgeous! Awesome job!
Here for your super weather, as usual sun, blue sky, no wind...Car looks great guys...🤔😳😳🇬🇧
I love this channel it's so relaxing and satisfying to watch at the same time
From a car, I wouldn't even open the door to, to a car I'd hell ya drive! Great job!

Beautiful car! Now to make it run! Sounds like a big challenge!
Wow that transformation is awesome! I had a steamer a few weeks ago but never knew what to do with it and gave it away xD dam it

A nice little collection of cars is growing, on a Budget!
loved it as always ... i came out really nice!!!
greetsz from holland... max
What an impressive detail! I enjoyed this video. I remember when these Pontiacs were popular during the 90's. I was driving a little Pontiac Sunfire when these Trans Ams were giving Ford Mustangs of that era hell.
Love how u where working hard to clean and little man was putting fingerprints all over the window my son use to do me same way lol
The car looks amazing. Great job on the detail work. Can't wait to watch you working on the mechanicals.
This is a good clean up. I would say if you didn't change the cabin filter, do in these barn cars tends to be a spot to trap mouse stuff.
Thats a good looking car 🚗 with amazing potential can't wait to see the next installment
U did an incredible job reving this. I love f bods. Love seeing this stuff.
Wow! Great job!!

The size of those wheels and the cutouts says a lot of what’s changed in 20 plus years.
I know right! Odd proportions, that you definitely wouldn’t find on a car today!
That's the one thing I always miss...clean the car first...I lived in Germany too long, I guess? They always keep it neat. But you did a nice job. Rob, Cairns
Beautiful car!
Very nice Job guys, I have to say though i think i prefer the original wheels, each to their own i guess, still looks very nice though Regards MEC
always loved Pontiac, great job
Always thought the T/A’s and Firebirds were better looking. I’ve always liked the look of Pontiac over the regular Chevy stuff.
awesome transformation
Nice job, beautiful car. something I would of did thought such as power washing before foaming, 2nd I would of clay barred after the hand washing and finally would of put a ozone generator in it to kill any mold in spots you could not reach or clean easy like the undersides of the seats and dash. oh you need to get a fire bird sticker for the front too.

What an awesome car, great job!
Glad to see someone wash the car before they start working on it.
Thats looking great.... hope the engine isn't too knackered. Thanks from Rome👍🇬🇧
I think you did an amazing job. The only thing I would not have changed were the rims!!! The ones you put on are the same as everyone else's 😕😕😕. Keep those originals!!!

Yup you screw upp the clear coarse vwith the pressure wash. A light hosing a cover with detergent let soak then a sponge off
When you're using the detailing buffer it might help to either spray with water first or dip your sponge in water to prevent burn through.
Great Job!!
A good ozone generator works wonders on musty muoldy cars. Just dont sit in trhe car when its on, leave the doors open afterwards to let the residual ozone drift off. great video 2x👍
looks awesome great job guys i use to have a red 1996 firebird trans am looked just like this they are fun little cars
I wouldn't paint the bottom of the back bumper. But I would make the exhaust tips come out to the edge of the back bumper. Those wheels are looking great on there
Can't even wait !!
Now this car deserves a tim Allen grunt😁
Old gal came right back to life👍🏻👍🏻 If I had to guess I’d say the Optispark is probably bad. They are problematic at best
Dang, I really loved the swoopie 3 spoke wheels. Can't beat the price of the wheels you got though.
Those LT1 Firebirds are quick and good handling cars. They are still very affordable too !
Fantastic work you guys! But I'd personally would avoid water into the engine bay simply to avoid damaging the infamous OPTISPARK!
I learned that vinegar in a spray bottle cleans mold great! Also stops mold from reappearing. Smell goes away in a few weeks.
Beautiful car! Nice job!
Another wonderful video that I loved to watch to the end. Still wondering what happened with the Willys truck … love to see how it drives … ! Keep on going, you’re doing well.
Una obra de arte!!
As an automotive upholsterer, I just use tornador gun with multi on interior. Can do headliner to carpet and everything inbetween
What surprises me the most is the condition of that dash pad, looks great
It's really a nice car good job
I've seen other car detailers use an ozone generator to deal with mold and other nasties.
Wow the Iwanna!!! Man I miss that paper and man was it good. Sadly, I recently found out that it is no more 😢. End of an era…
I'd go with the black in the back it needs something back there. Needs something up front too. Maybe a small Firebird eagle.
That is a beautiful car. Very nicely detailed. I would leave the rear bumper alone and put some nice tips on it. Personally i like this better than the Porsche 😂
Black pin stripe in the groove on the rear bumper
I used to have that exact same stereo in my Ford Ranger when I graduated high school lol
N that lt1 is a awesome timeless engine nice car
Awsome car😀😎
Best regards from a fan and regular viewer in Norway🇳🇴
Woulda clay bar rub be better to start with? I've always been curious if they're worth the extra work.
Steam and GM switches. Can't wait to see if they survived!
Glad your an let the boy drive the car so many years later. Good luck.
Have you ever tried "Folex" on the carpet. Folex will eat most of the stains and get you halfway to being clean.
Parabéns 👏👏👏👏 Brasil São Paulo
I can’t believe you tossed those CDs!
look great
Thanks!
Yes definitely paint that section black, personally I would go with matte black!
if you are gonna paint the back panel do it with the excellent peelable paints that are available now , then at any time you can put it back to original nice job
i thought the door arm rest was supposed to be TAN imagine my suprise when it became black
Nice car. Love the color
Thanks! I like the red as well!
Can't wait to see it run and drive. Must be nice
Love your channel btw.
Hey buddy, first time viewer and subscriber. I have a ‘98 TransAm same color. I bought it new, will have her to the grave. Can send you a pic or two if you would like to see. Been well kept. Big Al.
Nothing like the squeak of late 90’s plastic.
Got news for ya, 2022 cars have plastic squeaks!! Lol.
Hey from Canada ont

Chouette Transam!
juast keep the orginal tires they looked good
They’ll go with the car so the next owner has that option 😊
You must be confident that you will be able to get the car running spending all that time cleaning it first!
I'm hoping the undercarriage is in good shape. Dont know its in the rustbelt or not. My 94 that's lived in Southern California since new looks nearly brand new underneath. Hopefully this one does too.
Ditch the 16s and get the 17 inch versions

Good job on the bird. What ever happened to the Alfa's you had?
LIFE IS NOT FAIR!
