      @@gcstudios9091 haha thanks. The donut tutorial touches on almost every aspect of Blender, so it can get overwhelming. If you want a more focused modeling tutorial, check out Blenderguru's chair tutorial.

    I have a problem, the main body wont bevel nor shade smooth. I don't know what to do, please help.

    • @nocluse1
      @nocluse1  2 місяці тому +1

      1. Make sure your body is scaled properly. This is a super common issue and should be the first thing you do when diagnosing issues. Not applying scale will make modifiers act strange, especially Bevel and Solidify. Press control-A and Apply scale in object mode.
      2. Check for flipped normals. Here is how to do that: ua-cam.com/video/qJvvDHyK14Y/v-deo.html
      Once you find out how to see the normal direction (faces will turn blue and red), make sure that all the normals are correct (blue faces outwards, red faces inwards). You can press alt-N in edit mode to flip normals.
      3. Make sure you don't have edge loops too close to each other, including the edge of the object. That can cause issues with the bevel modifier, which will create even more edge loops and cause overlapping issues, which will affect the shade smooth. If this is the case, don't use the bevel modifier; instead, try a subdivision surface modifier. If that doesn't look good, then maybe try using a bevel shader, which is a way to bevel without any cleanup: ua-cam.com/video/BCjw5FcHO_g/v-deo.html
      4. Make sure that all faces are connected, and that you don't have disconnected faces. If you have overlapping vertices, edges, or faces, that can cause a lot of issues. You can try selecting everything in edit mode and pressing M, then clicking "Merge By Distance" to get rid of any potentially overlapping geometry.
