AMAZING Malaysian Desserts

  • There are plenty of desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth in Malaysia. You'll find carts selling many different kinds of freshly made sweet little snack treats known as kuih. In this video, I order a bunch of 'kuih' to try them out and see how they taste. The level of sweetness, the texture, and the 'packaging' (I'm looking at you, banana leaf!) makes these desserts stand out. The prices are also super budget friendly. Malaysian desserts are not to be missed!

Yup, almost all Malay kueh are sweet, tasty & tempting. Normally u can get these kueh in the evening, we treat it as evening snacks, our tea time. While in d morning also have few but limited b'coz M'sian breakfast already heavy. some state has their own special kueh which u can't get it in KL city. We M'sian, we enjoy variety taste of foodie b'coz we multiracial country. thats what make us unique & exotic. *wink*

i like karipap(curry puff) and pisang goreng (fried banana)..
some karipap has tuna filling inside but the most traditional one is potato curry.
but nowadays some seller jut put a small amount of filling especially in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor area and we call it karipap oxygen because half of the filling is just empty.lol

Or you can opt for frozen karipap sardin which would normally cost about 0.50sen a piece. We normally order from my mum's art student and he's v generous when it comes to the filling. 😆😅 To an extend I told him he needed to lessen the sardin as the flour was breaking when I was defrosting, frying the karipap. ^-^ Hihi.

They make my day the sweetest whenever I feel down. did anyone tell you that Malaysia have this kind of event once in 2 years where which the stalls will sell many kind of foods, viral pastries and local products? its is called MAHA 2018. its kind of like one stop centre of states(14 states of Malaysia) foods. All foods are gathered and your eyes and nose will bring u there! lol. i went there twice, and absolutely i had my sweetest whole day long! the event ended yesterday but it will be held again in 2 years time. there are more similar events, wht u have to do is to visit Malaysia tourism webpage or ask the locals. have fun! 😀😀

Kuih pelita is my absolute favourite. You must try kaya as well. It's coconut jam. The pandan variety is even more fragrant and delicious!

I don't know if it was the same but the Malay Donut is called Kuih Keria in our place. It was one of my favourite Malaysian dessert. It was made with sweet potato and flour, dip into liquidize sugar.
It was a great video and I am enjoying it. :)
