Thanks for sharing your story and details about the monetization process. I just now reached 4000 watch hours and the thousand subscribers. It’s been 2 years since I started posting videos seriously. Probably would have reached it sooner, but had my first kid about a year ago so very limited on time lately lol.
Great video. TY for sharing honest information. I started my UA-cam channel 3 years ago because I wanted to go back and watch my hunts. For me… not anyone else. I spend at least 1-2 hours every day on average on my computer. That doesn’t count the filming part. If people watch it’s a bonus!!! I’m getting close to retirement and I just want to share my stories. If I make a few extra bucks is it’s a bonus. It’s my hobby and I love doing it for free right now. Hope you have an awesome day! Im at 168k subscribers now. I have coworkers always asking about how much i make and act like im famous or something lol. Im always like dude its not as good as you think. I just got subscribers not views. I got a plaque for 100k but its not about the money at all for me its a place to store my memories. Memories that I filmed lol.
That’s pretty weird you have that many subs and you get about the same or less views than we do. Maybe we should do a collaboration one of these days and spice things up a bit. Maybe run the dogs in ole jw or something. -Mark

Virtually nothing. Unfortunately the social media industry has flooded the market with microinfluencers that are often willing to promote companies for free in exchange for gear, this also means that if you are not willing to do that, you generally won’t get sponsored. If you do this, do it out of love, not as a money making scheme…

I don’t mean to discourage you but you’re gonna need at least 100k subs to generate enough funds to house and feed yourself. Add 100k for every member of your family. It’s not easy, but it is fun. Try to think of it as a hobby otherwise you’ll probably get burned out. Good luck! -Mark
