I'm 32 and live in Tampa Bay Florida I absolutely love your videos. I've offered before but if you ever come back this way please swing by for lunch. I took a summer job in Colorado a few years back and fell in love with the Midwest. My wife and I live in a studio apartment in the city and love the tiny house idea and my plan was to travel for a few years saving money to build a tiny house but the companies that offer housing Don't normally allow dogs and my small dog is our life so I started looking into campers like yours and again fell in love. The wife was against it at first but having her watch your videos has really helped. We're saving up for a small pull behind camper now and will hopefully be on the road next summer. Fingers crossed. You Don't actually have to read any further but the plan is to live in the camper for one year and save for a small piece of property in Florida. We'll spend the extremely hot and hurricane Florida Summers working in a different state then come home to Florida and vacation for the winter. Or travel. Coolworks.com has jobs everywhere in the country and normally provide free or cheap housing and free meals. Definitely a free place to plug up an RV. Traveling while making good money and not paying for rent would really help us spend more time outside. Thanks for these videos.

I did the Velcro shower curtain as well, but I used two curtains so you enter thru the middle only and both sides are “protected”. Great video, so happy to find your channel.

Would think “Winna-Bae-go” would make superior RV’s. Just like ALL the others? I want to buy a used camper but don’t know what is dependable . I wanna take my 4 year old son in his grandpas 2004 Tundra V-8 with 70K. Was thinking of a pop up. I remember Winnebago from Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase :)

Can't believe 5 years have passed. Thanks for the review and the great videos. The quality of your camping trailer is not what I expected, but I guess they are not as robust as other vehicles. You are living in them, indeed. If you compare that to the upkeep we all have in our homes, it is actually not too bad.

We have a 2019 Micro 2106FBS. I believe all new 2019 and newer models come with off-road suspension and tires. Gives more ground clearance or sure. And the gray and black water tank valve pull handles are situated in the metal frame for protection. Also all of the water tanks are insulated for winter use. The outdoor light is now an LED light strip that runs the entire length of the awning... and it's BRIGHT.

#302 Good morning, Robert. My 23B Winnebago Trend 2014 which I named "The Catherine Clipper:, after my late wife. It has brought me much joy and I have travelled 63,500 miles with it. It too, shows signs of aging and use, but has held up well from Michigan to Florida, the deserts of the south west to the rain forest of the northwest and everything in between. Now I know that I'm not alone with some wear and tear problems. Its very cost efficient operationally, 15.3 to 15.7 miles per gallon on trips.

Thanks for another great update. Hi from Portland, OR. You'll love adding lithium batteries. We fitted 2, soon to be 4, in a Torklift box in front, and have 3x 200w panels on the roof, on our 1801FB (which is essentially identical to your 1706Fb, except 6" wider). Your videos, in part, helped convince me to go for the 1801, so thank you!

I've read all the replies & added my comments to several B4 composing the following.
The 5 years of the kind of mileage/usage you've subjected your RV to is an EXCELLENT long term recommendation in anyone's book. You've made what you have, work for you, & that's what is important. Your RV has taken you all over the country & provided you with life-long memories most people can only dream of doing.
I, sincerely, look forward to your 10-year REVIEW of MinnieTini. BIGGER is seldom BETTER.
I especially liked the Truma Aqua-Go upgrade. Getting rid of that problem-prone Atwood Water Heater is something RV mfgs should do in all of their new production models. Atwood water heaters are RELICS.
Your upgrade installation of the Easy Start inside your air conditioner is also something RV mfg should build into their production models as STANDARD equipment.
If you ever consider something else, I suspect you'll go with a teardrop model made by nüCamp like the T@B 400.

So I was just talking to my brother inlaw about the sensor in your black water tank. He said his solution is to put about 5 gallons of clean water prior to a trip and let it slosh around in a "clean" tank. He said it often takes care of the issue for him. Figures it was worth a mention

Nice video! A quick and easy idea for the blackout curtains would be reflectix insulation. It’s an insulation you can get at most any home center that you can cut to fit the window behind the shade. That should not only insulate, but cut out a lot of light, and a $10 roll will probably get all the windows in the camper. Have fun!

  • @sesquashtwo

To avoid what happened to your bathroom sink countertop...I simply drape a large still flat, plastic garbage bag, with two sandbags holding the top down in the sink, and then it drapes down over the edge of the countertop and down the bathroom cabinet side facing the shower. Done...no water ever touches the top or sides, and I also put two rolled towels on the floor, next to the outside bottom of the shower pan. Again, any water that might escape, will be immediately absorbed by the rolled towels. So those two things, makes your shower stall, not prone to losing water by a loose shower curtain, or bouncing off your shoulders or head. Works like a charm!

WINNEBAGO! ARE YOU WATCHING? I bought my Micro Minnie from Fretz RV but Traveling Robert is the one who really sold it. In fact, I'd guess that TR has sold more Winnies than any salesperson. As much as I enjoy seeing TR's adventures, I'm always excited to see updates, information, and upgrades on Minitini. It's amazimg how far the 2023 have come with the Minnies. Most likely because of your wonderful analysis along with technology. I bought the Wolf Puo 17JG as I am on a budget. The equal Minnie, not really equal because the Minnie is a step up, was $40k or so, for a bunkhouse with slide. I was able to get a deal $24k for mine with the extra solar and lifted (Adenture package). All of the negatives that you listed has been address by both manufacturers. Net, net....great job! We soon with full time in ours and maybe document our journey like you? 🤓

Good Morning Robert ☕️, hopefully Winnebago will take note of your extensive travels using their minimalistic camper (which I'm sure has surpassed their design use parameters for this model) over the past five years and step-up with some type of sponsorship program. Surly, their executives will take note once they see the advantages, and convert your annuel miles into rolling advertisement along with your UA-cam audeince exposure. Safe Travels ☕️

We have a 2015 Winnebago Minnie. It was fun to watch your video to see how it has held up. We haven’t done any upgrades to ours because we’ve found everything to be sufficient. The floor trim at our bathroom door looks just like yours. 😠 It’s definitely made cheap. My sink countertop is ok but it isn’t next to the shower. My bathroom is much bigger than yours.
The thing that has been awful about ours is that the paint (red) has faded to pink from the sun. If I had known that I would have bought white.
For the most part we love it!

Delaware campground suggestion, Camp Henlopen state park. Its beautiful and has electric and water hook ups. You can fill in another state.

Florida is a great testing ground for any product. That sun is brutal... and then add the salt air. All in all minniteenie is looking pretty darn good... as are you my friend!
Some day maybe you can move over to that Class B plus? ... so you can park / navigate in more places.
    Always trade offs for sure.
Thanks for widening my world. 🚐 😆

Since you plan on Delaware and Maryland you might consider the lower part of the Delmarva Peninsula Virginias Eastern Shore. The towns of Chincoteque, Onancock, Eastville and Cape Charles are pretty cool. Camping at Kiptopeal state park is the bomb with nice empty beaches .

Seems like it’s doing pretty well Robert,
We have a 2019 Micro Minnie 1700BH that we imported to the UK, weather etc isn’t so intense here so hopefully we will have many years of enjoyment out of it
And yup, we did look at them after watching you with yours to see if they has anything suitable that wouldn’t break the bank 👍

This is exactly what I want to do. Just got a fully remote position and looking to get a small RV to travel cross country with just me and my 2 labs and I want to try and hit every national park. So far it's been between this and the Forest River r-pod.

Robert: Phenomenal video -- thanks! Thinking about the quality issues found, I wonder if you think that there is a travel trailer out there that has "zero" (or close to zero) quality issues, irrespective of price? For example, are Airstreams (ultra-expensive TTs) "perfect" in that sense? If you don't consider the purchase price, which one would replace your Winnebago Micro Winnie? Thanks!

For your door handle, buy a pool noodle, cut one side length wise and then cut to length to cover handle. It will look like a "C" from end. Slip over handle for UV protection. I leave mine on during travel and when in storage. I own and travel in a Coachman Freedom Express 246RKS, 26' TT and enjoy the amount of storage space it has. Your truck can pull this trailer.

I like the upgrade of removing the booth/table and adding the counter instead. I like the fact it's higher up for added prep/cooking area, but also as a desk. The only thing I don't like on ANY small camper is the size of the shower/bathroom. Since it's just me, I'd remove the entire vanity cabinet and put in a larger rectangle shower. But if I was ever able to order one brand new, I'd have them remove that area where the tv was and is now your wardrobe, and continue the bathroom wall over from it's door. Put the toilet where the tv was facing it to the driver's side, making a large bathroom.

"...not made with the nomadic worker in mind..." is a very appropriate phrase.
When you go to the RV show, look to see what models have changed to accommodate that nomadic worker.
