A couple I know, have a fifth wheel, and spend months fishing. They make meals ahead and freeze them in gallon bags, put tags on the end so they can read what is what. Meals on the go!
Seems like we never get exactly what we want, but your mods look like they work great for what you do. Here something that works well to keep your waste tanks clean and the sensors working. “After you dump your black and gray tanks get some Rid-X (from Wal-Mart) and put a 1/4 Cup in each tank along with 10-15 gallons of water. Drive to your next stop and drain. The Rid-X will clean the sensors. If you do it periodically it will keep them working for a longtime. Rid-X is used in Septic Systems to keep build up down.”
I removed my dining table and went to Ikea bought 2 folding tables like yours than home depot to buy the moldings. I did the same setup you had done now i have a lot more room thanks for your idea i love it.
When trailers have THAT type of tire problem, it is most often due to axle problem (even from factory). It either needs an 'adjustment' or is bent. Maybe "Pelican" is the name for truck? Thanks for the 4yr progress report. You do an awesome job. Keep up the great work.
@@TravelingRobert I just caught up to some of KYD KeepYourDayDream videos and noticed they found same issue on their RV. They recently returned from travelling 4months and 11,219 miles up the West coast Arizona to Homer Alsaka and back). Search their youtube channel title "The KYD cabin but first an axle problem" not necessarily the WHOLE video but first several minutes, and then 20:40, and also advice from their other video title "tear down checklist". Last year I think "I Love RV Life" channel or "Hebards Travels" had the same issue too, and they made video about how they got it fixed.
Robert so enjoyed your review. Haven't yet had some of the problems you have faced but your traveling more than we are. We love our 1706fb so glad it is still holding up for you. Though we have suffered some of the same problems in the bath. On a whole we love ours.
I hope you have better luck with your Colorado than I did. I have a MM2106DS and used a Colorado V6 with the full factory towing package for towing. The first year I had no major problems, however, year two my travels took me through areas where I was encountering far steeper roads and higher elevations than I encountered in my first year. The Colorado could JUST make the grades, many times I was going significantly less than the speed limit by the time I reached the top of the grade. Other times my acceleration was so slow that I was slowing down highway traffic. I decided that for peace of mind I should get a tow vehicle with a V8 to ensure comfortable, stress free towing. Before I bought the Colorado, which I bought because of the 7,000 lb towing capacity, I had a Chev. Blazer with the V6 which was rated for 4,300 lbs, which of course was not sufficient to tow the MM2106DS, I should have realized that no matter what GM claims the motors of those two vehicles are very similar. I bought a Chev Silverado with the 5.3 V8, now I can tow up steep hills and am no longer pushing/taxing the motor, in fact I can honestly say I hardly know I am pulling a trailer and also no get better gas milage that I did with the Colorado. I do miss the size of the Colorado, but now I feel I can safely tow my trailer and no longer impede other drivers. I hope you have the diesel version Colorado, I heard that there is a significant difference between towing with the V6 and the diesel versions.
I also use my Colorado for RVing. The difference is that instead of our Colorado pulling our RV, our RV pulls our Colorado. Also, both our Colorado and RV are diesel. We love both of them. Thx for videos. I’m using them right now to plan a Florida trip from our Louisiana home...
I'm glad to see that you're happy with your Colorado truck. My fiancé had an older one (not sure what year)- it was a 5 cylinder truck!! OMG! it was a train wreck!
Best mod you made was taking out that awful prehistoric dinosaur dinette and putting in an office desk! Excellent choice! I did the same thing. An utter waste of space to have a dinette and I have no idea why modern RVs still do this. Are you listening Winnebago, Thor, Fleetwood, Coachmen, etc? Love the office desk! Very functional. I put a small dresser from IKEA under mine for clothes. Nice way to divide the two spaces. Thanks for the tour!
GREAT use of the dinette space! One of these days, RV designers will finally get it, that mobile work spaces are VIP to many buyers ... (fingers crossed)
I was thinking they both were a little crooked on the frame..but didnt make sense to me why both tires on the same axle weren't wearing instead of just one side..your theory makes more sense to me..odd though 1 side on 1 axle and the other side on the 2nd axle....like Robert says is what it is...would drive me nuts though if it were mine...lol
Like what improvements you made with the mini. I think sometimes people buy big and spend more money and then regret purchase. You definitely made good use of the trailer.
Thank you Robert! I am posting from my home in Pa. near Hershey. Winter is slowly creeping in as we already had snow before Thanksgiving. So, it is good to hear and see your vehicle descriptions in Florida where the weather looks incredible. The truck looks nice. Thanks again for my me feel a little warmer by this Florida video.
Robert, love your videos. Your going to love your Chevy Colorado. I lived in Naples, Florida for 13 years, now in Western North Carolina. Wish I was back in Naples. Enjoy your truck.

At least you didn't buy a Jayco or Coleman. I haul them brand new from the factory to dealerships, and after seeing just how badly they hold up during transport, I wouldn't pay half the price they go for at the dealerships. It's a shame the U.S. r.v. industry is like the U.S. car industry was in the 70's and 80's; Built as quickly and cheaply as possible. BTW: Come to Oregon. Another way to clean sensors in black tank: add to tank, one cup each, Dawn dish soap and Calgon water softener ( find near laundry detergents). Fill tank and let stand for 2 - 3 hours. Flush tank then fill and check sensors as tank fills. Repeat if sensors still indicating wrong with empty tank.
Great video! Thanks, Robert! It is very interesting to see how you fixed the Minnie Winnie up after purchase and to see what has gone wrong. I am looking at purchasing a new Minnie, which would be my first trailer. Your info is invaluable. Happy Travels!
Different campers have different lay outs. I went from a 8ft vanguard without a bathroom to a 10ft western slide in truck box camper and I actually have way way less storage in the bigger camper. The vanguard was very nice with the bunk bed I could fold down and neatly store all my clothes on the top bunk with the couch underneath and table. The western has one small closet for all my clothes and nothing else besides a few drawers. Nice bathroom with a shower but I really have to add a large storage shelf like my vanguard had for clothing. Living in Canada in the rocky mountains we only have 5 months of camping off the grid so air-conditioning and a furnace are not really needed. My camper has a nice radiant propane heater added on so I can boon dock for around 3 days on my 4 batteries without any generator needed
Was watching your east coast trip and kept thinking you should really buy a Colorado or new ranger ! Lol I would guess the Chevy is a huge improvement towing. Great videos keep it up.
I have a Winnebago the black tank sometimes I get about reading bought a wand from camping world hooks up to a garden hose put it into your toilet it has a rotating head high pressure cleaned the tank thoroughly have not had a problem use it every once in a while.👍
Howdy Robert, many thanks for sharing this very interesting and informative update on your Winnebago Micro Minnie which I watched with undivided attention and great pleasure.Best wishes and cordial greetings from William in Bruges,Belgium,Europe
2021----Robert has become a roving Ambassador for Winnebago...He now drives a black Colorado...and Minitini III...2021 travel is the East coast....maybe all the way to Maine...
Hi, Robert 👍🏻👍🏻 I’m glad you got a Chevy truck the Colorado is cool 👍🏻. Thanks for the upgrade review of Minitini , back in the early 80,s my Dad bought a nice 24 ft.travel trailer to take to the hunting club. We had some great times, the floor in the bathroom and other spots finally rotted after 18 yrs and we replaced all the flooring. Thanks for sharing, enjoy and have a Great week !!! Danny
The black water tank sensors show a false level because the inside of your tank has a bunch of "stuff" still clinging to the walls. You can get a pro to flush it out with a high pressure water probe designed specifically to thoroughly clean it out. Or you can try buying one of the aftermarket attachments that supposedly do the same thing. But they typically don't work all that well based on what I've seen online.
Love the new truck! in the market for a new truck and now the Colorado is on my list. You will have to let us know how it pulls the Minitini in the mountains.
It pulls great, even in the mountains, at least me 19 foot trailer. My only complaint so far is the technology. Too much of it not the best implementation. Built in WiFi sounded like a great idea except that it doesn't work all the time. Having a nice head unit is great except when it crashes. Everything is dependent on the software even the A/C fan speed. Android auto, good concept except that everything takes more clicks hence more dangerous while driving...etc.
I like your new truck. I hope is last you a long time. You are right about the color. I can not tell if it is midnight blue or black. It changes. Oh the electronic on new vehicles is something else. Read your manual. You will find out some other cool things you didn't know. I love that bed cover. That saves on fuel too. Your camper is just the right size. Enjoy your trips.
Black Tank Sensor ... you have TP stuck on sensors you need to fill black water tank 1/2 full with water add 2 cap fulls of Colgone and 1 cap full of Tide or ERA drive around a few hours then rinse your tank should clear your sensors ...also the bio method ( Calgone / ERA and a gallon of water ) works so much better then blue stuff for breaking things down ... By the way nice choice on Truck for towing small camper :) great videos !!!
Suggest just replacing solar panel with 325 watt panel and get deep cycle or lithium battery replacement. Also noticed you could put some insulation in the basement storage to help from loosing cooling or heating through bed. Just thoughts. Thing I did in my camper. You can also put in access door from inside for items you need to get to faster than others.
Use a gallon or two of laundry fabric softener along with the waste in black tank before a long day of travel. The next time you dump, your sensors will be cleaner. May take a couple of treatments.
Get the "Clearview" towing mirrors. Worth every penny of what they charge. After you install them (very easy) you will be amazed at how nice it is to have proper towing mirrors. Safer also.
Robert, buy a spare vvt solenoid for your glovebox or toolbox. And change the oil & filter religiously. Like the truck, but the diesel's mpg is impressive. Enjoy the videos...
Great video and changes you made. Hey if you have problems with stuff like the fan you should at least email them with your problem so at minimum the can fix the issues/update product and maybe they’ll replace it for you (good company would),but maybe you did. Thanks for the video👍
I'd say he re-uploaded it because there's a youtube bug affecting videos today and causing them to be stuck at 360p resolution. Saillife just had the same thing that happened to Robert earlier.
Thanks for the Mini Tini tour. And the truck is awesome.. love it.... especially the color...love the color! And something just popped into my head..a name idea🤔. I thought of the name "CC Rider". I'm an Elvis fan so I guess that's where that idea came from...lol. "CC" stands for Chevy Colorado...& "Rider" is obviously it's purpose of course. Just one of my ideas wanted to run past you since you're searching for a truck name....Thanks again for giving us such amazing videos!!
I would install an axel lift, if they are dexter torsion axels, then its a snap to install, did it to my Camplite and it made sewer hook ups much better.
Robert, if your tires are wearing on the trailer have you ever had your axles looked at. Ours was wearing on the outside the Tow -in was extremely off. Had to align the axle. That may be the problem. But I'm not sure.
Good video. Good four year review on your camper. Good looking truck. Have you checked your wheel bearings on your camper they will cause tire wear if their is a problem.
That truck... got a white one like it. LOVE it. I know i had no sway on your decision but I'd like to think I did. :) If you're ever passing through OKC let me know. I'd love to buy you lunch.
Hi Robert. I'm new to your channel and catching up the clips. Did you name your truck yet? I love the color of the truck. It looked great with ocean in the background. I've not yet been to Florida, but have been to Hawaii several times. I love tropical weather with a nice ocean breeze. You always seem to have a cool vibe about you. I mixed that with the color of your car like an ocean breeze and suggest you name the truck... Cool Breeze!
@@TravelingRobert The alternate nickname I thought of was based on the truck color and how I like warm tropical water and it's amazing blue color... Deep Blue!
Chevy Colorado is ranked one of the most unreliable mid-sized trucks. I wouldn't use it for the life style like yours. The reality of the truck will show you later down the road. best luck! By the way, your videos are so inspiring!! I just love it!
Not to mention uncomfortable seat, poorly implemented technology, jerky transmission, just to pint out a few more flaws. Something tells me I won't have this truck for a long time.
Those are well known issues. I'd really suggest you to trade it for Toyota. Its reliability can give you a better experience on the road, at least not to worry about breaking down on you anytime in the middle of nowhere.
Tacoma, 4 runner and and tundra will be a better choice. In my opinion, the good thing about those trucks is you don't really need to get it brand new. A 10 year truck could still run like new, and trouble free..so to save more money on getting a new truck
Have you replaced your suspension bushings? There are little plastic bushings in the equalizers and the shackle bolts. That wear out very quickly. I don’t think there are any adjustment points to align the axles on these trailers, so there might also be something bent. We replaced our complete suspension with the More ride equalizers, wet bolts, and upgraded to 6000 lb axles on our Winnebago 30RE. The stock axles and suspension were borderline for the size of the trailer. We had a failure and almost lost a wheel, which prompted us to upgrade. ,
What made you chose chevy? I kind of remember you were leaning towards Toyota. Was it price or features what made you pick this one. How you liked on the first road trip. I ask because I have a frontier pulling a jayco jay flight pretty similar to yours and I am thinking of upgrading the truck. Thanks.
I guess it was the overall features, and a few comparison videos I saw. There are not too many mid-size trucks in the market right now. Tow capacity, and cabin comfort were the two main things that made me lean towards the Colorado
I watched your 3 month long journey from summer of 2019 (thoroughly enjoyed it!). You mentioned multiple times about tire issues. I recall you stopping/buying/replacing your tires two (maybe 3?) times during the trip. You stated that your tires are 'not a common size'. What size are they? 15"? Have you had any issues regarding 'keeping the axles greased'?
I like all of your upgrades. My suggestions are:
Install a toilet paper holder to the inside of the door where you store the toilet paper.
Add the TV to the front of the door of your closet. You can get a very thin flat panel, and put the tuner inside the closet.
Thanks for ALL your videos Robert, my wife and I love the videos, the music and your soft voice. Great channel.

Also noticed you could put some insulation in the basement storage to help from loosing cooling or heating through bed. Just thoughts. Thing I did in my camper. You can also put in access door from inside for items you need to get to faster than others.
Beautiful truck Robert you deserve it.
Thanks!
Use a gallon or two of laundry fabric softener along with the waste in black tank before a long day of travel. The next time you dump, your sensors will be cleaner. May take a couple of treatments.
Heack yeah Robert!!!😃 Lobsterfest is on my bucketlist!!!
Get the "Clearview" towing mirrors. Worth every penny of what they charge. After you install them (very easy) you will be amazed at how nice it is to have proper towing mirrors. Safer also.
I'm going to check those out.
Great vid Robert. Would u buy another minniewinnie or would u buy a Lance the same length.
Lance is much more expensive so I would have to factor that in.
@@TravelingRobert thanx
Yea, if your dishing out that kind of dough u might as well get an Airstream.
The Truck " My Burro " also thank you for a very informative video.
You should call your truck: Papi chulo!!😂🤣😂👍😎
Hi Robert
Minitini has held up very well considering the miles you put on it. Great truck. We love Sunshine Key.
Robert, buy a spare vvt solenoid for your glovebox or toolbox. And change the oil & filter religiously. Like the truck, but the diesel's mpg is impressive. Enjoy the videos...
Great video and very informational also.
What a to camp beautiful place to camp Robert!
Robert, you look in "Wild Russia")). Not all understand, but look with GREAT PLEASURE!!!!) Good luck!
Great video and changes you made. Hey if you have problems with stuff like the fan you should at least email them with your problem so at minimum the can fix the issues/update product and maybe they’ll replace it for you (good company would),but maybe you did. Thanks for the video👍
Check Robert's latest videos...They just did that!
We got ours one month before you. My dinette seats totally detiriorated!! Getting them upholstered now! Have a great hack for your shower later.....
Great video Robert. I'm a new fan, very informative video. 👍
My dream is to be a traveler. ..We travel to Maine from Texas and an love the northeast. .keep those great videos coming
I really enjoy your videos.Thank you
Robert I think you put up the video twice by accident. Your minitini is very nice. I love your videos. God Bless you Robert
I'd say he re-uploaded it because there's a youtube bug affecting videos today and causing them to be stuck at 360p resolution. Saillife just had the same thing that happened to Robert earlier.
@@james-5560
It's not just today. These f*ckups have been happening every now and then for awhile.
robert have them check your axells they may be out of line saves on tires
Hi Robert. Thank you for pointing out the expensive part of the rv park. 👍.
Yes, very much
Wow 😮. Congratulations on your new truck. Beautiful 👍
I think the placement for utilities is for motor homes to drive straight in toward ocean. View out front windows.
Nice setup on your RV. love the Chevy truck. The location you filmed your truck I go Fishing and beach atoll pool.
I am pretty sure that is the problem too
Hi, Robert!😄
I feel better already.😃
Woke up a bit awkward.
And you a🤗re here.😄
Yes.🤗
Thank you for this.😎
Sometime in Spring 2019 I intend to visit
Wow some tour and nice ride...good luck with it Little Kia to maybe Blue Pup
Thanks!
That's a nice name. Haven't really named it yet
@@TravelingRobert
The alternate nickname I thought of was based on the truck color and how I like warm tropical water and it's amazing blue color...
Deep Blue!
I have a coleman. and it's perfectly fine. love the key west videos . your giving me lots of ideas for my camper. thanks
hi, how long have you had it? i looked online for the 10 best travel trailer and Jayco was in the 10 so I got a little confused with the comments.
@@lawrencef3560 I'm thinking 4-runner. I'm more of an SUV kind of guy.
I've been looking at sequoia lol
Have you replaced your suspension bushings? There are little plastic bushings in the equalizers and the shackle bolts. That wear out very quickly. I don’t think there are any adjustment points to align the axles on these trailers, so there might also be something bent. We replaced our complete suspension with the More ride equalizers, wet bolts, and upgraded to 6000 lb axles on our Winnebago 30RE. The stock axles and suspension were borderline for the size of the trailer. We had a failure and almost lost a wheel, which prompted us to upgrade.
,
I haven't done anything yet. As long as it works....
You need to translate " FWAKATA " for your non-hispanic viewers! By the way really loving the channel! Seguir adelante hermano!
LOL
What a beautiful place to camp
What made you chose chevy? I kind of remember you were leaning towards Toyota. Was it price or features what made you pick this one. How you liked on the first road trip. I ask because I have a frontier pulling a jayco jay flight pretty similar to yours and I am thinking of upgrading the truck. Thanks.
I guess it was the overall features, and a few comparison videos I saw. There are not too many mid-size trucks in the market right now. Tow capacity, and cabin comfort were the two main things that made me lean towards the Colorado
Great, enjoy it then. Gracias.
Nice job. Loved you forget forget equals remembered philosophy.
Isn't that the case... oh well I forget :-)
Thanks for. Sharing your. Every moment ...love you and I always support to you ..please. Keep it up
I watched your 3 month long journey from summer of 2019 (thoroughly enjoyed it!). You mentioned multiple times about tire issues. I recall you stopping/buying/replacing your tires two (maybe 3?) times during the trip. You stated that your tires are 'not a common size'. What size are they? 15"? Have you had any issues regarding 'keeping the axles greased'?
That trailer had a misalignment problem with the axles. The tires are 13
First thing for me to upgrade is the A/C. Wow that's loud.
