I love canaries! Had no idea that they were full grown by day 30! My canary is named Clover and is about 10.5 months old. He is just the most beautiful singer. Yours are stunning as well
Awesome video, Its so refreshing to see the entire growth of the chicks in this clutch, with both parents actively rearing these beautiful additions to your flock. I look forward to seeing more of your channel and your avairy of cage birds. I am from Canada and raise most mutation of Zebra Finches, Society Finches, Java Finches along with Exhibition English Budgies. I've subscribed to your channel.
+Mel Colp Hi, it was fun to see them grow! Thanks for watching and subscribing! One day I may get more finches, I don't have any right now but I am interested in them. I had zebras, Gouldians, Javas and a few others a while ago
+Love of Pets thank you so very much! I do plan on a Trip to Toronto sometime during the spring! I've been blessed with getting to know several breeders from that area and hope to meet as many as time will allow and look forward to purchasing birds to bring back to Alberta to help established a variety of new blood lines. Thank you again. I look forward to possibly meeting you as well. May all your nests be full and the love for birds continue to always blossom for you!
Hey, amazing video, I have a question, If I want my baby canary to be really well tamed should I separate it after 2 weeks of hatching and can feed it only broccoli and apples or do I have to buy a baby formula for them? Thank you very much!
Thank you for sharing. Sweetly & Sherbert’s team work is amazing during these first critical weeks. Do budgie parents both feed their babies like canaries do or just the mom budgie? I can imagine the canary parents gett No slong very well to coordinate the feedings and getting enough rest themselves to raise 4 healthy babies. Another question - will the young canary that resembles the father get the pretty orange coloring after its first molt? Or is it all diet based. Not sure if canaries molt is similar to budgie’s first molt.
teardropface The parents were so busy eating and feeding the babies all day. They rested at night. It's a lot of work for the birds but they enjoy it and it's in their nature to breed and produce babies, it keeps them busy and fulfilled.
You are truly blessed to have all these beautiful feathered family members with growing families. To witness the entire thing is miraculous. Again, thank you for giving us the opportunity to see this as well. We would probably never have had the opportunity if it wasn’t for you. Please continue to love and care for these beautiful creations of God! Mango, Blueberry & Rainbow send their kisses to your flock!
Thank you..I have 4 new baby canaries..2 are 4 days old and 2 are 1 day old. I see the mom and dad feeding them. I make hard boiled eggs, boiled peas, and other veggies and fruits for mom and dad but I don't see the babies growing much...I'm a newbie and very nervous. I live in Ecuador so don't have the large open cage etc....help!
Hi. My canaries finaly had a live baby. The dad fed the mom, the mom fed the baby. She sat on nest Keeping chick warm. On day 2, the chick died. What happened? Should i try & hand feed if they have another one?
So sorry about the chick. Sometimes they die suddenly, it could be a few things. I would check the next chick to see if the crop has food in it. If you don't see food in the crop on the second day then you can feed.
@@Loveofpets yes. I have a male & female. They have bonded in the past 5 months. They mate all.the time. 4 - 6 times a day right before she started to lay the eggs. Its day 5 . still only 3 eggs. I hope they hatch.
You can keep them together until they start fighting. If they don't fight then that's a bonus. They usually can get along for a while until they go in breeding mode.
I have a question my canary birds had one egg and it hatched and the baby grew and got out of the nest but still it doesnt eat on it's own the parents are still feeding it but after few days the bird is pregnant and START to lay eggs will that affect the baby bird Bec it still doesn't eat on it's own I'm scared that the parents will kick it out really early ....
The parents will usually still feed the baby and the father should take over the feeding. Place a dish of egg food, some canary seed, millet, and fresh soft foods at the bottom of the cage so the baby can start picking at it. I fed mine cooked brown rice and added thawed out or cooked frozen vegetables to the mix along with Romain lettuce for the babies to eat. Always provide millet for the babies and the parents to feed the babies. Usually when babies come out of the nest they go to the ground and start pecking away.
Hi. The babies will start as soon as they come out of the nest, usually 3 to 4 weeks. I start putting spray millet in the nest at 2 weeks so the babies can start learning. Spray millet is softer then seed so they can eat easily.
Hi, she will sit on them and feed for up to 30 days. Once they grow all their feathers she may sleep eleswhere. She sleeps on them to keep them warm. Sometimes they sit on them for three weeks, it depends on the mother.
Sometimes they can have a clutch right after the babies are weaned. They usually wean around 6 to 8 weeks old. Sometimes when the babies come out of the nest but the parents are still feeding them, they will start breeding again while caring for the babies. I like to give them a break and wait until babies are older and out of the cage or not breed them until 6 months later but it's common to have two clutches one after the other. If the parents are strong and healthy give them a nest when the babies have their own cage.
Hi, I give the parents plenty of fresh foods such as greens, carrots, peas, quinoa, cucumber, berries, apples etc and plenty of egg food. I buy my egg food but you can make your own. I also make sure to have plenty of canary seed and zupreem canary pellets along with millet and goldenfeast. My parent canaries eat the healthy food and feed it to their babies. I only hand feed if the parents don't feed the babies. I fed a one day old canary many years ago as the parents threw her out of the nest and would not feed her. If you need to hand feed the babies, you need a hand feeding formula. If you need a link to the food let me know and I can post it here.
As soon as it's eating on it's own and the parents stop feeding them. They will start to eat at 4 weeks but still need the parents food. Anywhere between 4 to 6 weeks.

The parents fed the babies but I have handfed other babies with this amzn.to/2oQWzhP

My female isnt feed her babies so I feed them a mix of egg yolk and water is that enough
