Correction: The concealment Is wrong in this video. It should be 5.8km with update 12.7. I'm sorry I missed this.
grozovoi is way better. good heals, smoke and AA with alpha and accuracy and extra turret. with 12km regular torps. why would you ever get this? the super heal doesnt save the rest of the ship.
@@waleedmukhtar2925 I wouldn't say it's "way" higher, no hydro, slower guns make up for a lot of short coming. Deep water is very good against anything else.
So is the dispersion value in the on-hover main battery guns menu (@25:20) - wg wiki value is 110. Every third-party website has its own opinion by the looks of it. The truth is out there but it is not 121.
Lushun has 28% better HE dpm than Groz and even better than that with AP. With low detection and 5.5km hydro thats a fine combo.
Same accuracy as Groz if you believe the wiki and slightly better range too on lushun.
this heal is actually not a superheal, but kinda like sevastopol's
A couple Lushun’s I’ve already encountered all kicked the shit out of my BB’s with AP. Guys on Reddit told me I was wrong to say it was a tough ship to fight against when in a BB that can’t always hit a dd back behind it’s island. But I definitely retreated from the dpm.
If you hit with 50% of your shots you have about a 93% chance to set 1 fire ever 15 seconds.
Play it like a Forrest Sherman but with better torps and no smoke. Use those guns to reach out and bully people and build for open water gunboat and consumables

I think you might want to look at the AP. The DPM considering Neustra + rate of fire is probably nasty. I could be wrong about this though. Would be nice to see if it works😁

normal fuse and normal pen angles, so can't really pen dds
dpm is excellent tho, 3rd best in tier, and good pen, so works against big things
just not against dds
The gun characteristics are identical to Delny/Neustrashimy

groz and neustra have 1.8k, delny 1.9k, and lushun a pitiful 1.4k
ap alpha on the lushun is also lower, 2.2k vs 2.6k on the others

i've always wondered why pq always talks about the dispersion of dds and cruisers when, uh, they almost all have the same dispersion values
for dds, it's only the more accurate ones (ragnar and elbing) that have different dispersion
for cas, jp cas, and the large/super cruisers are the ones that have different dispersion
all the others have the exact same dispersion and sigma

Lushun concealment was nerfed a bit in recent patches.
Not a bug, just a change that hasn't been implemented yet.
Not a fan of t10 due to the meta but the ship seems ok. So much to do during the summer doesn't help this dockyard event so I'll skip it. Great video.
Hi PQ! Thank you for the review - when I heard about this boat from your channel I was excited for it! I picked it up yest - it feels a lot like the smaland but I play smaland a lot - this boat would be better if it had the radar the torps are fantastic - you need to play this at range cause no radar
The first time i stumbled upon this DD I was playing petro. I was roughly 70% hp. He killed me in 30 seconds or so. I just couldn't believe that Petro can die that fast.
I think a comparison with Grozovoi would probably be useful for most people. That’s probably the closest tier 10 to the niche of Gunboat with good ballistics and a heal, while Delny has far worse conceal and armor.
i watch someone talk about this ship they said the concealment was glitch he said it was 5/8 km not 5/6

You should really concider using AP on that ship, it has third best AP DPM of all T10 DD'S after Marceau and Harugumo. The fact that you have such a low reload allows you to land multiple salvos before the DD angle and you have to switch to HE. But speaking of the HE, the DPM with it is not good, not bad but not good at all.
One more thing about this AP, it's the same AP as USSR DD's wich as great AP pen sooo yeah, this ship wants to use AP I think.
I would also say that an hybrid build is better than full gunboat/full torpboat build.
Hey, i used to have a mod that changed the lists on the left and the right that let me check if enemy ships had radar and hydro and the ranges on those, but now with all the list mods in the modmanager, none of them have that feature anymore, anyone know if theres still a list mod that can do that ?

If you're newish then don't spend money and work hard to learn tech tree ships.
No matter how good a ship may be if the captain lacks knowledge he/she will be a burden for the team.

Those are the guns from the Russian premium ship Smolensk, very easy to shoot with and accurate.

@@Klaus_Klavier uhh, no they arent. Smolensk shells are 130mm, just like Grozovoi, and just like Lushun... They are all the same exact shell, with the exact same flight characteristics, just that the Lushun has 400 less alpha damage (1400 instead of 1800) than the Grozovoi or Smolensk...@kdivanov is correct, and where you got the idea that smolensk shells were 152mm I have no fuckin idea...

For the reason they are called SAP shells, wouldn't it be the same as the British CLs?
that's the IRL shell name, multiple ships use Common/SAP shells as AP generally having lower Krupp (Penetration) than normal AP shells (though there are some exceptions that have standard Krupp like USN DD AP)
If the shell velocity is good, I would rather give up the conceal & take the bonus range & use it like this insufferable long range firestarter who can tank plenty & torture cruisers and bbs with the torps aswell or hell maybe even the dispersion skill. It just seems to not win contests in gunfights with other dds.
edit: that slow heal & the long af cooldown might reinforce that idea for me
just take PQ's build, but give up incomming fire alert and Main battery and AA specialist and geat mainbattery and aa Expert instead... tada best of both worlds with a measly 5% dpm decrease... Also happens to be what I run on my YY, so yay for already having a 21 point captain
Neustrashimy doesn't have worse accuracy; she has standard DD dispersion, it just has 4 guns instead of 6+. Given the soviet shell ballistics, I don't find it that bad, particularly with a bit of distance.
Also what's with disrespecting Cossack. It has decent dpm; the main weakness is the floaty shells, but you were point-blank.
Your aiming and gunnery style was...not great for a fast reload ship like this.
It didn't help that he had more effective support.

My Impression from different reviews is mixed. Guns are okay, though fire RNG can be horrible at times (see Maltese review).
It has a ton of HP with those heals, but it burns through that extremely fast. The gameplay doesn't seem appealing or special to anything we already have, which makes it hard to justify the pricetag.
Does not look like a ship I would play. Looks cool though.
Have you considered building her as a torpedo boat instead of a gunboat?
It is almost always better to build for guns over torps. So many things have hydro and rudder shifts are getting faster.
Although gunboats (especially the mediocre ones) also have it rough with submarine and CV spotting, plus some fierce competition from other gunboat DDs (like Gdansk). Disengaging from a gunfight can be a lot harder nowadays. Sometimes I feel torp boats going to the A or J line are returning to the meta.
Lüshun kinda feels like a Fenyang/Nothern Dragon style ship with napalm HE but relies on AP. No idea if Lüshun has improved pen angles. Could be really fun if it ever came to console WoWs.

Seems you play it like a cruiser - stay with your mates, gun when you can, flank some BBs with torps - but you rely on your heal only. HE is bad, torps are long reload.
This seems more like a spotting neustra wide gun angles are horrid on the neustra so id build into torps rather than guns this is no Friesland! Should be played like the assasio personally. Cheers
if lushun use Grozovoi hull. I take it. even dont have smoke. this ship bad broo. the conceal is 7.2km
56,999 ÷ 331 = 172hp per shell. 🤣
It's a non-IJN DD. Most of the damage comes from superstructures and fire damage.

Ok the torps in the 2nd game gave you 65k w/o that u would have gotten 88k . Now if you are relying on gun boating then that is what u really got on it.
If it were a decent tier 10 ship, I doubt it would be a dockyard project. I'm highly skeptical of the value of this pixel ship.

Tbh concealment nerf isnt a big issue. Why? Cuz ur torps reload way too long to spec plus you lack smoke and speed boost. We ll all use it as a gun boat so 5.6 to 5.8 isnt a big issue tho

It had low concealment and hydro so it could sneak on people and that's extremely powerful. The nerf to the concealment massively lowered the potential of the ship.

Tier Xs are supposed to be strong, and when a ship is only obtainable through a long and expensive progress like Dockyard, please, no one wanted their stuff to be underpower. @@jabaited yeah every t10 is strong and relatively should be. I was trying to say, we should not expect Thunderer or Stalingrad level of ''strongness'' when a new ship comes out or introduced. Yeah the phase is long and you gotta pay at some point. But you don't have to... Its just an another t10 dd which has pros and cons. Noone would say anything if they didn't mention about the hydro or speed boost which were removed in the first place. I am not gonna argue about the gameplay and general knowledge. I am just a casual player who is against all kind of gimmicks.
@@boratunc9700 I should start including the comment section in my "CC Bad Ship Defense" Bingo chart. At least for PQ videos, since the community tends to match the CC. That'd be one mark right there for comparing a ship with the strongest ships of the tier in order to justify it being weaker than them, when the issue is not the ship being weaker than the strongest ships, but rather weaker than the average ship of the tier.
I don't need to compare Lushun to something like a Smaland to point out its flaws. I can point out to it having less damage per salvo, DPM, fire chance, and FPM than a Halland, a ship that is at best a hybrid with more emphasis on the torpedoes, casually surpassing a so-called gunboat. You may then argue for Lushun's heal, which I'd counter by pointing out that her heal takes so long to work that the difference between the time it takes to use 2 Halland heals and having the 3rd one ready is only 8s longer than for using a single Lushun heal and having the second one ready, and the difference in healing is only 2% in favor of Lushun, so she's only offering a meaningful survivability advantage by the time you get to the 3rd heal (at which point a Halland would've used all her heals), but she'll take more damage in the first place due to being larger and not having an engine boost or useful AA, on top of being more reliant on her guns than her torps.
Lushun is not a weak gunboat compared to a Smaland or a Marceau. It's a weak gunboat compared to hybrids that make up for their lower firepower with stronger torps.
I really hope that after playing this ship you will finally play around with Neustrashimy. I don't comment often (although I watch most of your videos) but I will comment every so often pestering you to give Neustrashimy a proper try and a video. Not for any other reason, but because you sound like you have decided what the ship is and how it plays without trying it and that's not fair towards the ship (and it somehow feels below your own standards). I really think it gets underappreciated because of the poor coal price (after conversion from some other resources - they learned from that for the recent move from free XP to coal). It gets compared to crazy T10 gunboats when it is not - it is a T9 hybrid with incredible utility due to consumables. Spec for guns and still have scary torpedoes (essentially the same but with 1.3 detect and can hit DDs) and a 5.6 conceal (cannot think of anything but Kagero and Yugumo with lower). I really think you might appreciate it more after some rounds with an open mind to it.
I think that the concealment bug is just poor copying by devs (as it shows Neustra values). Another one is noticeable in the main battery details pop-up (e.g. @25:20) which shows 121m dispersion which is not correct. This is the value for Neustrashimy with Aiming Systems Mod 1 installed. The only dispersion value I can get is from the wargaming wiki and it states 110 but I don't trust the wiki unless I can verify it somewhere else. I really want to see the actual battery characteristics soon, because I really don't think that the dispersion is much worse (although with 3.3 seconds reload before AR, you get to consider every salvo and the occasional beloved Russian wtf salvos we all know and love - 4 shells, 4 different postcodes :D).
While this new reload looks amazing, it is moved up a tier higher, and I am not sure this increase in DPM (on paper) makes up for the decrease in alpha of both HE and AP (both -400 from Neustra values) and the reductions in the consumables. Assuming that they have not given it improved pen angles (in comparison with Neustra) it will still feel anemic against the major gunboats. Given that it cannot outrun anyone and lacks smoke this slow heal seems to be the wrong choice. It makes more sense to keep the super heal from Neustra (which gives only 140hp less but 3x faster). I see that through the updates they could never really figure out what consumable setup fits this ship and it shows. Not sure that the hydro compensates for the heal shortcomings as well as the smoke, speed boost, and DFAA they have removed (DFAA might suck but it is better to have it if it is on its own slot). Tier for tier Neustra might be better.

Sorry but talking alpha of this vs other dds is a waste of time when it has 1.5 second reload i.e. twice or better than the ones you compared it to.
Alpha is fine metric on very long reload where you may not get second volley before enemy gets behind island or similar.
Another prfect example of Streamers getting preferred matchmaking at the expense of the regular player.
so: bad torps (2km+ less than tech line), no torp reload, no smoke, no radar, low amount of guns, sits high up water for what? a non stealthy hydro and a super heal that didnt really achieve much? big meh.

The fight against the Cossack went poorly because you kept zooming out, not aimed properly and fired full volleys instead of holding down the Mouse 1 button effectively halving your dpm.
Also @ 12:06 healing wise there is 0 difference between HE, AP and SAP damage, they can all be healed by an equal amount as long as they aren't citadels (50% usually like on Salem, 60% in Lushun's case), for HE shells the only difference is that they also cause fires which actually are 100% healable but isn't really that relevant for a DD anyway.
Others have already pointed this out in previous videos so please stop spreading this misinformation.

How much more OP do you want a DD to be ? Devastating deep water torps with no detection, insane DPM spam, good concealment, great heals, just another reason to not play BBs anymore in this torp and HE spam game. 😡

If it's such a gunboat, then can you explain the horrendous damage output? Of the two games PQ played only one had good damage output for a T10 DD. and in that game almost half of the damage was done by torpedoes. @@dafencjusz

I am gonna skip this one. Bad HE, Sevastopol heal, and wants you to use AP but won’t give you better pen angles. Yeah, this ship isn’t the worst, but it’s pretty shit compared to the other free t10 dds.

What gets my goat is WG are being way too lazy, expecting players too spend money on a copy ship, its a tier higher and actually worse the the tier 9 version, this game is really starting too piss me off, maybe its time to quit after 7 years.
Sry PQ, but you certainly weren't at your best when you played this ship. Your first engagement with the cossack was especially bad. You missed a lot and made no use of your AP when he showed broadside twice. Meanwhile the Cossack played it well, he certainly was the better DD player that match.
The guns looks to be pretty garbage. The ship would have been ok with 1 more turret x 2 guns.

Not really a good video. 2 games so so, what about value compared to other similar ships. 7000 gold seems a bit to much for the value you get. Bit of a lazy video. I expect more from a wanna be community manager. Just made a 2 video about this DD. First impressions and tomorrow more indepth value etc.
