I agree. Maybe they will if it does not sell all that well for cash. WG hasn´t brought out a coal ship in ages.

11:54 It's about velocity and fuse time, not penetration. American 356's are quite fast and against thin hulls that are flat broadside, you can expect lots of overpens.
Velocity is one of the variables of penetration.
PQ you cant complain about overmatch in one vid and then in another vid say it’s necessary because cruisers will bow tank you. Overmatch is necessary because BB is supposed to beat cruiser to some extent. Overmatch citadel, on the other hand, happens way too often
Mate I'm wondering if you and I have played the same Rhode Island. This thing is a beast.
Florida guns at T10 sound terrible. Plus, pushing another HE spammer into the game isn't going to help the meta or the retention of players who are constantly getting set on fire, pinged, and struck by planes. War Gambling is slowly killing their game.
Are we really comfortable with this game company to slap together a ship with existing assets and barely any thought or work put into it to put it into the game at $140? Wtf, highway robbery.
$140 is ludicrous for a ship. You could buy 3 masterpiece games like the last of us, or you could buy a pixel ship.
I quit 2 years ago buying ANY Premium Ships after they nerfed 2 of my Premiums. I bought them for what they did, not what they became. FRAUD! Still play the game because it's fun. But nothing else. YOLO, Charge, ram....ENJOY!

If u do rudder mode on this ship the rudder shift time will be droppped down to 9.6s. This ship is beyond broken in terms of survivability and gun power.

Annnnnnd for some stupid reason he went for secondary build on this car. The ship is stupidly good, but guys please, for the ones that want to get the ship and use it, DO NOT use this build go for normal build, don't go for weird DPM build as it's already really good, and what the ship misses is a bit of survivability.
Exactly. He admittedly was trying for a close range, push in type build and it absolutely took away from this ship’s strengths. Stealth + speed + rudder shift + RoF are her strengths. I was unbeaten when reinforcing flanks and essentially playing long range cruiser. Winless when I tried his style of pushing or leading a flank charge.
200.00 dollars is just too much for these ships. I would do fifty and that's stretching it. Why is WG so expensive?
My opinion is that they go off of the plastic models, which are also now around $200 for battleships. So this might be 2% of their rationale, with the other 98% of course being greed.

I don't mind the AP on this ship. It has always served me extremely well. Obviously, it won't be going through angled battleships, but it does fairly well overall. Everytime I try to spam HE, I get extremely unlucky because it does not do the damage I see it does in videos.
Still not paying 50k dubs for this thing.
Don’t see why you would play this ship in comp play over an Ohio.
Just get Duke of York. It has DM Riochet Angles on her AP Shells, stupid HE and a good heal, the playstyle is essentially the same aswell of being one big Heavy Cruiser AND shes for free.
Plus hydro. Very under--rated ship.
Or a Florida. Tier 7 is actually a pretty decent battleship tier - lot of very soft tier 5 targets.
I bet I'd personally love this thing - my preferred playstyle with Iowa is using its good speed and relatively good stealth alongside the Brisk skill to sneak/sprint across the map for good angles/cap potential. RI has one of the lowest detection ranges among battleships at t10, and shares the upgraded Iowa's 33 knot speed, in addition to a speed boost to push you well over 40 knots. Seems like a great time to me!
Exactly, the ability to show up on a flank when needed is of huge impact. 41 kts. AP does surprisingly well, very different from my Florida experience and I am not sure why. Perhaps Sigma is better? Rudder shift is also quite good.
@xPureNRG007x Sigma and dispersion ellipse is the same, but with 6 slot American dispersion mod, the accuracy is better.
I don't really think I will be spending cash for pixel ships again.
The Rhode Island has its merits, speed, agility, and maybe volume of fire.
However, smaller guns, even if there are more of them, weaker armor, and an exceptionally low hit point pool really limits the value, especially at tier x.
Yeah, it's a "premium", but it's also weak enough to require exceptional play to be reasonably competitive.
I just don't see a great deal of value for the average/casual player. There's not a great deal of incentive to buy it.
It's essentially a battle cruiser. It's not meant to be tanky or like other battleships. If people play it like a BC, then you'll have a lot of fun with it.
It's a oversized cruiser in a bb slot. That's how I describe it. It has insane potential and I had insane amount of fun with it.
I buy, battlepasses, dockyards and xmas containers.. Nothing more nothing less.
Don't forget radar, a battleship that can run down dd and cruisers.
As much as I love the Floorida (carried me through ranked with multiple 5-kill games), those same guns at TX would drive me up a wall, 381's already mean you don't use AP, 406's mean you use a mix of both generally and 459's give you pretty good reign on the AP, so 356's will always just be worse 381's in my opinion. So if you don't have good firepower, you need good armour, and well this ship obviously doesn't have that.
You've obviously not played the Rhode Island. I would recommend you do.

Why do you suggest we buy the ship?
RI gets petro pen angles on the AP and 22 second reload base. it's more than capable of chunking with AP or HE spamming. you just have to not get smashed in return to where the ohio heal can't save you. if smaller guns meant the ship was worse, bourgogne wouldn't be such a highly rated ship.
@@atpyro7920 Bourg has Reload Booster.... the biggest reason anyone even looks at it. RI doesn't have much going for it...
Unless you consider a 9km Radar to be praise worthy...
@@andrewmbaba7608 bourg isn't just a reload booster platform. it's fast enough to get onto flanks and catch people when they don't expect it.
RI can also do that. The radar isn't a magic "win the game button", it's a tool that you can use in the late game when you can get in closer.
if you can think and breathe at the smae time (which, going by your comment, you probably barely can), then RI can become a monster.
Luv ya man, but RI was never going to work for your playstyle. Any ship that doesn't have super accurate AP just isn't your thing. You refuse to play passive and spam HE in a BB.

Man....I rather buy a copy of Dragon Master Magia (its even more expensive I tink) than this ship.
its not for everyone i guess. personally, i have been loving it since getting it for like 3000 gold back in the day. but it really is just that back row he spammer that can surprise people with its radar. i like to play a hybrid build with 9.5km secondary range, so if a dd gets spotted by my radar for example, my secondaries can shoot him. but despite me liking it very much, i dont think its worth it for more than around 10k gold.
There's no reason to pay this much for such a meh ship; there's other ships that do literally everything this does better and that are cheaper or free. There's infinitely better "small caliber battleships" like the Meck, Bourgogne. And they balanced it around giving it radar... on a backline HE spamming battleship that doesn't have the guns, armor, secondaries or torps to get near the enemy.
yeah can buy it... admiral pack. neither ship is worth £140 sorry. if they sold it for maybe 1/4 of that i might try to find some money. cost of living crisis still WG.

12:16 Well that's just the thing, because of the improved pen angles, that must be messing with the games logic regarding pen and overpen chance. I genuinely think that the penetration code and mechanics for this game must be awful to look at for a developer, especially in 2024.
The people playing HE spammers don`t want battle impact. They wanna farm damage, credits and xp and don`t care about their team losing.
Good on them for adding another one. It`s what the game needed.
If they were looking to stick with a 3x4 main gun setup, maybe they should've gone with Richelieu guns instead of Florida.

is a mecklenburg not just that much better? they have practically the same alpha and reload but meck has 16 guns where rhode has 12 and meck has 2.05 sigma where rhode has 1.7. and it has more range, its tankier. meck has 57K HE alpha in a salvo, rhode island has 60, but again meck is much more accurate and has better ben because german HE…
the guns and the armor/hull in general of the mecklenburg seem so so much better, and RI gets.. a 9km radar that ur barely gonne be able to use, and a speedboost. idk? meh?
Mecklenburg is a sweet ship. I think everything is accurate that you post here. Speed and stealth are RI’s biggest strengths. I will say I get citadels much easier in RI, on BBs and of course cruisers. Range mod is important for RI instead of the silly sec build shown here. Surprisingly accurate. Also great rudder shift.

@@jonasdeejee890 Definitely more of a cruiser feel. Crazy speed for a BB, so that is the biggest difference from Thunderer (which I also have), and 12 14” guns do cause a lot of damage, so that is satisfying. The vertical dispersion I feel is better, meaning more hits on broadside targets, kind of like Russian BBs do.
Thunderer is great, but I have more fun in Rhode Island due to the versatility. Thunderer has more durability. I find myself (for better or worse) finding a time in every match where I end up pushing in Rhode Island. I do not think this is wise, but the speed makes you think you can pull it off; and when you do it is pretty awesome.
Lastly, most videos talk about HE spamming, which it is great at, but the AP to superstructures is definitely something to mix in, like when they hit DamCon.
@@xPureNRG007x I couldn't resist buying it since writing that comment, you're right it plays like a big kiting cruiser which is a playstyle that really fits me. Whenever I get into problems I can just use the engine boost to get away and the 24 km range (with range mod) allows me to still deal damage. The AP and secondaries are good too indeed, though she's quite frail at close range due to the waterline citadel and only 74k HP so pushing is quite risky. The radar on it is really cool since it allows you to spot and take out the pesky DD's that torp you.
The last 2 stages of Wisconsin were a no brainer for me. Pass on Rhode Island. Wisconsin is the thing right now

Not really, but this ship has been in the game for 7 months now. It's just back in the armory (soon) but the ship has been here since January 2024
Montana is a lot stronger than this crappy thing. The only downside is the missing radar.

The fact that this is a completely unique ship (and not a clone) that is only being sold for dubs/money feels like absolute garbage. The clone ships (arp yama/kleb color etc) are one thing since they have the same thing available in the tech tree. Even the dockyard tier 10s you can earn a heavy discount on.
But this? it feels like such a fucking cash grab

Rhode Island is one of the most, if not THE most entertaining ship played this year. It is very squisy tho, but it really packs a punch! Just play safe at range in the beginning and become a beast mid to late game.

I was set on getting it, then saw it in the armory and was pissed. But found it on the website premium shop for $55 less than the armory (ship only instead of the stupid bundle). It is fun to play.

@@jaysonnunley6602 my apologies for any confusion: the armory only has the $200 “bundle” option, whereas the Premium Shop at least has the “ship only” option for $145.80. That is the $55 savings I was referring to.
