You are right on about the lectron screws... Mine are standard hex heads.. Wondering about switching them to metric so I can use my trail toolkit for a trail-side repair. I don’t normally carry standard stuff in my pack.
True story about Zach...before he worked for Morgan he worked for me at a bicycle shop. We had a customer who got out of line with one of our female employees. I confronted the guy and out of nowhere he sucker punched me! As I'm gathering my-self I hear a stern voice growling "LAY DOWN!" Zach had the dude in a headlock choking him out! The dude was absolutely defenseless against "Ninja Zach!" Witnesses say Zach leaped across the street in a single bound and was on the guy before I even hit the ground! Zach is the nicest dude in the world unless you mess with his friends or family. If you do, fair warning...HE'S A NINJA!
2015 yz250 2 stroke. Fmf pipe and silencer, boysen reeds, rebuilt with vertex piston. Installed lectron and started it up. Was immediately pinging and surging lean idle. Richened it 1/4 turn like they said at a time, still lean but not as bad. Turned 1/4 more rich, still slightly lean. Checked for air leaks everywhere, even did crank seals. Still lean. Although it’s getting better the more I richen it, I’m kinda concerned that I had to adjust this “self adjusting” carb this much already. Should I keep turning richer? Anyone have specific measurements for the metering rod from a similar bike I can use?
Update: turns out I have a split in the rubber coupler under the clamp so I couldn’t see it causing my lean running condition!! Now my bike is extremely rich from compensating for it haha. Lesson learned!!
Quick question on the lectrons. I put one on my 18 250 sx ran great! Then I decided to put a 300 kit on it ran great the first two rides. Yesterday was riding at Washougal and mid Moto I got a bog at mid throttle. I pulled off raved her a few times and she never did it again. Any thoughts? I thought maybe dirty fuel.. Thanks!
SC is a 100 times easier....at least there isn't the hassle and potential for dirt to go into the carb. The SAE screws are bizarre and different from top to the bottom, ridiculous really. Good video, the light hearted nature of this shlog was fun.
Keep it up Amigo!! Quick question? Been buying the DID Vt2 gold "narrow enduro" chain for years from Rocky Mtn. '(13 300XC ). Why do they not list or show it for sale anymore? Can you get it? I don't care about the cool guy gold color but they where always a bit less$ than the OEM silver xc/xcw?? Did they change the name?
That's where that smart carb is way easier. Just kill it, open the throttle and reach down and turn the knob. Don't even have to get off the bike to fine tune.

I was literally just adjusting mine yesterday and had the exact same thoughts you mentioned in the video :)
Yeah. It’s silly.

YES! I have heard that story. So good
So did that work for the bike because I have one and it's doing the same thing If I crack the throttle it will die out bog down
Yes it did.
Have the same problem. Will give it a try tomorrow and see if it helps. Thanks for the video bro appreciate it. Keep em coming 🔥🔥🔥
thanks so much on this. helped me so much did you go in richer another half or quarter turn?

Nice scotland flag there
Thanks

I’d go another 1/2 turn out.
Thanks for the quick response!! Will try it again for the 4th time lol

That’s an odd one but it probably was some dirt like you thought or I’ve seen the needle and seat get stuck on them a few times too.
@@highlandcycles Thanks!

Thanks man. Yeah that’s SC is way easier.

Yeah, they changed the name. It’s called the ERVT now. I think that’s it at least. We stock them still.

Yes everyone should ride Dirt Bikes would it be cool if schools could introduce Dirt biks to young kids? There would be less kids on drugs and more
