Morgan has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable regarding the jetting of my KTM 125xc. A tru professional and overall great guy. Highly recommended.
Looks like they take great care of their chains too, they are nice and rusty. The first thing I always do before I go pulling carbs apart when I know the machine was neglected and not running good is a quick compression test. So many times the customer doesn't want to put that kind of money into a machine. Then they don't want to pay you for the other work since it's blown up.
I know you preach over and over about filter maintenance and was wondering if you would consider a teaching point video on just that. I know it's basic to a lot of us; however, I also know many could use a step by step explanation explaining how to perform a correct cleaning/oiling and what products to use or not use...gas, kerosene, mineral spirits, special filter cleaner, etc. Thanks again for another great Shlog.
I bought a 690 from fun center Durango. Every bolt that was part of the dealer assembly was loose or lost on the first ride. When i figured out how lame their assembly was i called to tell them they owed me some bolts. LSS, they continued to be lame. I retorqued everything, permatex-ed all the little fasteners. I wonder if that 690 came from fun center?
I would like to see a interview with foxy bibs on his bike upgrades he does tires he likes and years he's been riding. He rides with u a lot . If possible thanks
I have 3 of the large spoons from tusk. The big ol jobers with the aluminum handle. Work great, but I have a new Rabaconda I've not used. Going to try those larger ones, with the couple of motion pro ones I have shaped like the Rabaconda. I just have not had time to use it.
I won a package of no toil oil air filter oil so I used it. Worse air filter oil. It all ran off filter and ran down everything on my bike. I was wondering what could be leaking. Dont use notoil filter lube. Wonder if thats what they used and it ran off leaving dry filter. If it was lightly gold colored oil thats their issue recommend they use other brand air filter oil
Any news on doing your top end on your 23 XC? I see the piston is the same part # as the TPI but the rest of the kit is different. I'm at 80 hours and i'd love to see someone experienced like yourself tackle it before my amateur mechanic skills attempt anything! Thanks, love the channel.
My riding buddies are the worst about preventative maintenance. They’re newer so they haven’t blown anything up yet. But I refuse to do it for them. I let them know too. It went from “I would do the air filter before we ride next time” to “it’s taking so many kicks because you need to do your valves” 😂 His bikes gonna blow any day I swear. He’s done one oil change in 2 years
If its a newer rider help them out. You don't know what you don't know till it punches you in the face. I try not to be "that guy" always working on his stuff at the trail head and not in the garage. When I raced regular I would take Monday night to clean the bikes so I could order parts on Tuesday if I needed. Thursday was bike night... fix what needs fixing and maintenance. Just for a few hrs. Worked well to keep things in decent condition and minimize ride day repairs.
@@Danman1972 I’m not going to just give them fish. But I’d be more than happy to teach them how to fish. The thing is they are not mechanically incapable. We’ve all rebuilt motors in our spare time. They know how engines function and the parts involved. They are just lazy. Im not going to do 5 air filters lol. When I’m working on my bike they’re standing around looking at me work on my bike lmao. Listening to me hound them about maintenance. I’ve offered 100 times to help my buddy to a top end on his Honda. But I won’t just do it for him when he’s not around. I came to realize that’s 90% of riders. Just run it till something breaks.
great mechanical review, KTM front brakes ??? the only way I can do it properly is reverse bleed with a pressurised canister, and the clutch is even worse !
The lack of basic bike care is frustrating to say the least. Like you Morgan I just don't get it when guys spend so much on initial purchase. I've seen one year old bikes just fit for the scrapheap. 🤷♂
Yeah?!?! I don’t understand. And a lot of the ones like that aren’t owned by people who have the money to just buy another one. But that doesn’t even make sense. Money is money and it’s hard to come by even if you have a lot.
Don’t stress about that side plastic. I’ve made a stress crack the exact same way on the lower grommet of my vented air filter cover. ‘22 SXF. It’s so damn hard to pull off. I don’t even try any more. I have a dulled 1” chisel to pry it up. KTM shouldn’t make them that tight.

Ok wait a sec, what did you say about no-toil air filter oil ? Elaborate on what you mean when you said maybe their using no-toil air filter oil and it might be running out of the filter. Is this something you’ve seen? I’ve noticed no matter how well I squeeze out no-toil it seems to accumulate at the bottom of my filter between filter maintenance which is usually every ride.
@@highlandcycles Its also not water resistant like normal oil, with real oil you can submerge the filter for a few seconds and no water will pass through. Could come in handy!
I know this is an old video but not for nothing but if my mechanic breaks a piece of old plastic and he feels like he did what he could to be careful I don’t expect him to replace it. I’d much rather have him bush fix it the best he can and not be gunshy about working on my stuff. I value my mechanic more than a dumb piece of plastic that I’d have broken with my gorilla hands anyway if it was that close to breaking.

Heck yeah
If watch enough of Morgan's videos, you'll do maintenance out of sheer guilt!!!
It’s working.
Thanks Morgan... I was going to sit around and watch Shlog #241🤔 but suddenly I had to go out and change the KTM's oil & air filter .
😂🤣
🤘🏻🤘🏻. Can’t believe they wouldn’t follow through and replace those cases!! awesome shlog yet again!! Thanks man!
I think Beta is going to. The dealer is just junk.
You may want to try convincing those non-air filter oilin' folks to just buy No Toil pre-oiled filters and throw them away when done.
Seen the inside of my ttr90 carb too many times gotta ride it more ! I basically use it like a bmx bike
Beta is awesome they take care of you, dealers are dealers

Twin Air or Funnel Web
