- In this calming guided meditation, you are invited to inquire within and explore the true nature of self. Adyashanti guides you to direct your awareness inward and experience the blanket of silence that intrinsically underlies every moment of your life, while also pointing towards the ineffable mystery inherent within all of existence.

Quotes from this video:
“Meditation is the opportunity to look within for your self and to find out: Is it true? Is there a somebody?”
“The more we look for our self, the less we find.”
“When you look inside, what am I? Really. Truly. Without recourse to some past explanation, some theory, some dogma. But in one’s own actual experience: Where is this me?”
It’s super challenging to listen to any other voice while being guided. You carry such grace with you.
Thank you, you do the universe a seriously underrated service.
Why all gurus tell 'be in witness position '. According to my experience there is no witness. Nobody is there. I was wandering why they all lie and give wrong idea. And finally i've found this video. So happy. Actually nobody is there. And it's the self.
I have searched numerous ways to improve not only my mindset but my body. I am rarely surprised as to even today several people are so engulfed and spend their precious lives on anything but themselves. From a woman that believes life can be wondrous and loving yourself is important. I cant even express in words how much joy love i receive being around loving compassionate people.
There is a moment when you know for the first time with clarity that you’ve begun to awaken. That moment is when you realize that there is a separate soul within you that is not quite the same person as you are, but which from time to time peeks out through your eyes to delight in the everyday wonders of the world. When it does, you can sense its feelings and know its reactions to the things it sees.
Those feelings seem to your mind to be the poetry of a greater wisdom then your own. While at the same time seeming to your heart to be a greater love then you can bear, and when you recall those feelings to mind, you feel yourself beginning to cry.
These are the infant steps toward an emergent enlightenment, and more then usually they begin when you find that you have lost yourself in some unplanned and unpremeditated act of kindness that rises unlooked-for from deep within your heart. Sometimes when it begins, it can be as simple as choosing to hear the cry of a lost kitten.
Great

nice:) hahah
This is very similar to Eckhart Tolle's guided meditation at Wisdom 2.0. Great video. Very easy to see and experience for myself. Thanks!
Adyashanti, you are the best. ❤️
You are such a gift: no one better ❤
Thank you for these meditations.
, adyashanti. Evert day your meditations are a blessing
I need to spend more time practicing self inquiry. These guided meditations help.
Wow, this one is a gem. 👌✨🙏✨🌸
In one of Adyashanti's books, he asks the reader to ascertain an answer to this, "What do you know for certain?" Leave aside what you have been told by others, say you had been brought up in isolation. From your own actual experience, what can you know for certain?
My answer started somewhere around, "Well, my body needs certain things to survive, I experience thoughts and feelings..." and eventually just boiled down to, "I exist. The only thing I know for certain from my own experience is that I exist."
Sitting with it longer led to a more nuanced inspiration: "What is this 'I' which exists? How could I say that 'I exist' if I don't know what 'I' is?" and so, the only thing I knew for certain became, "Exist." In other words, "An experience is happening." That's it, that's all I know. Experiences arise in my awareness like a dream arising from a deep and bodiless night. Moment to moment, sensations arise from nothing, like a cup that continuously generates its own water. Existence is happening.
Just now, I instinctively opened my eyes a split second before the bowl rang out.
Great meditation!
Great meditation Adyashanti, very calming and helped slow my breath and center in heart right from the start of the video. Also I just bought your book Emptiness Dancing and I wanted to tank you for writing such and amazing book that has helped me so much in my awakening journey. I'm reading "The Autobiography of Teresa of Avila" now because of your recommendation at the end of Emptiness Dancing and its very good so far about half way through it now. So thank you again for all your UA-cam videos and books I cant wait to read another one by you the last one I read had so much great wisdom.
16 minutes starts the core
Wow wonderful. Thank you. Your teachings are really opening up my experience of form
Are you aware? Can you say "I am" without saying what you are? Can you say "I am aware?"....without saying what you are aware of? "What you are looking for is what is looking." Looking for the self is the self looking...up until the very point that 'something' is found. That self is knowing/being and has no second. Easier than falling off a log. Good luck doing just that. ;) If falling then just dive...grace is pulling.
❤
Each of us is a particle of God living in this "material" reality to EXPERIENCE on behalf of God and to LEARN to be Love :)
We need not learn anything but be as we inherently are
isn't this again just a concept and not the reality itself?
Haha this particle is at the gym getting jacked and juicy, I workout 6 days a week
Gracias.
How do you reconcile this for someone with de personalization and derealization that has a distinctive lack of self and reality and finds that to be scary?
The way
"So.............. .He always starts from the word "so" .Listen carefully.
Ive been meditating daily for 8 months now and I still don't get.... I stopped having any "amazing" experiences or even once I'd call peaceful after a while and now I just see nothing and feel nothing while meditating. I don't pay attention to thoughts or feelings or even trying to explain what these people are are saying or any of that jazz I just sit down and I see and feel nothing
You are still having expectations.... the whole point is to observe and "Being". If that's not for you, you can practice visualization with your mediation and it will help manifest whatever you want.
I don’t understand why spiritual seekers go with this. Why not just body is aware of the body. Why the need of some mysticism of mysterious force that is awareness. Why awareness can’t be just the attribute of the body. Self is the mind’s reference to the body. So there is self as long as body is alive. Awareness is not present in anesthesia. You turn off brain and there is no self, there is no awareness. You turn it back on there it is. Why brain can’t be just aware of the thoughts of the brain?
Do you ever credit the Buddha?
Do you ever realise there is no Buddha?
If I am this self why am I afraid to die.
First empty your cup. What they don´t tell you is that to empty the cup takes years. Then "enlightment" or whatever is a simple consequence of that. This is just relaxing my friends, you won´t get anywhere but to get to sleep....even more. You´re welcome. Have a great day !!. While you are alive.
What a fantastic recipe for suffering. Thank you for sharing. Namaste.
I need help.. when I sit for self enquiry I actually find a sense of self and I cant seem to find the void that lies beyond it how do I go about this?should i just be aware of this sense of self till it is seen?
Nothing to look for, nothing to be found. Just be.

That's precisely what Nisargadatta, the eminent Sage of India prescribed when he said to stay fixed on the "I am".
i the eminent dohdoh of Humboldt prescribe some ganja and live resin. if you already do that, i prescribe taking a break from it.
The same is the same
Separate !
Hello Adyashanti/youtube account manager
I would like to suggest you disable comments to allow for a greater focus on spiritual reflection and silence, as to limit the distractions that appear. I hope you take my comment into consideration.
Thank you
You don't have to read them. Some people, like myself, benefit or enjoy reading other people's comments.
It is not particularly important if thoughts arise and try to distract you from the stillness, because thought arises out of stillness ! There is stillness in every thought, you just have to listen to it.
Focus on the dharma should always be the primary objective. Mooji's youtube channel gets this. While you are technically correct, I am also saying there is a pragmatic wisdom in limiting "chatter" during satsang. Who can disagree with this?
And all Dharmas are empty. In my experience, Dharma must always be connected with reality or life. Dharma alone, seen as seperate from life has no value at all
In my experience there is no conflict or clash between reality/life and taking on an attitude of silence during transmission of Dharma. I find it enormously beneficial. It's this reason most of Adyashanti's in-person retreats are silent retreats. I've been to non-dual retreats that were more liberal in this aspect. As the week went on, at one point the post-meditation conversation went on to become such casual chatter that one guest brought up that he was going to cheat on his wife while justifying it with non-dual concepts. While this situation I acknowledge is definitely an outlier, my point is it becomes all to easy for a place that serves as profound focus on truth to become deflated with chatter of the mind. We all know this here, as it happens inwardly all the time when we sit down for meditation! My point is that when an entire community, or Sangha, takes to Dharmic Transmission with the utmost attention, collective silence serves as a profoundly supportive platform :)
