    Quotes from this video:
    “Life seems to be amazingly adept at showing us what’s real and what’s not real.”
    “Whatever is pleasant to the ego, it wants more, but it’s never really satisfied. That’s one of the lies that ego tells, that it will be satisfied and can be satisfied. But it won’t be satisfied and it can’t be satisfied.”
    “Part of what brings people into a deeper exploration of life is that they start to see this lie of the ego. The way they are moving in the world-there is something unsatisfying about it. Somehow this unsatisfactoriness-in terms of our own transformation, our own spiritual awakening-is extraordinarily positive, it’s a fierce grace.”
    “Historically there’s a certain kind of cultural glue that our stories hold together. That’s really one of the main purposes of religion-to give people a collective story, a collective myth, that holds cohesion in this human community. And when that story breaks down, then the society breaks down, falls apart, and transforms. We see that happening in the world right now in spades-certain ideologies, ways, myths, stories-people are saying, ‘this doesn’t work for me.’ This is way too unsatisfying. This isn’t actually true. So it breaks up.”
    “It’s useful to start to hear the voice of how ego operates, so you get familiar with it. When it’s doing the speaking inside of your head, now you know what’s doing the speaking. Once you get a feeling for how the egoic mode works-how it talks in your mind, how it relates to moments of difficulty, once you get to know it, once you get to recognize it, which is really important, to recognize it-that’s the first step in it no longer having power over you.”

    Lao Tsu Taoism said
    One of higher scope when hearing the truth will practice diligently
    One of intermediate scope will just half believe and half doubt it
    One of lower scope will jeer at it abusively, otherwise it won't be
    the truth.
    Seeing those abusive jeering comments appearing in UA-cam,
    not only in my favourite teacher Adyashanti but also in others.
    How true! The sun will continue shining, let the (mad) dogs bark!

    Redundancy, bereavement, divorce, opioid addiction, depression, anxiety, fear and so on ad nauseam... have been my experiences of Fierce Grace over the last decade that have led me to deeper spiritual awakenings. Only discovered Adyashanti yesterday which appears to be beautiful synchronicity, and this teaching of Fierce Grace he articulates perfectly where I am right now on my journey. Thankyou.

    I'm walking through a park. Beautiful day. Warm sun rays touch my skin. I can feel it. Perfect temperature. Perfect sounds. Perfect breeze. Everything just perfect when I suddenly find myself thinking how my life sucks. How i'm struggling with kids. How i'm a lousy mom. Bad and just lousy at e v e r ything. I'm aware of the benevolence of my surroundings and realize those thoughts are just brain synapses. I mean... arent my surroundings brain synapses too? It was just such obvious difference between the tone of those two. So i decided to regard these self infused thoughts as what they are. A well trodden synaptic pathways.. as such they no longer feel they are my innermost beliefs. They are a puzzle of mixed experiences travelling their odd trodden ways. How does a synaptic circuit go out? Just like when i studdied math or biology when i didnt go back and revisit the lessons i would just forget them. Even if i am wrong about it and it wont work the next time, the moment itself had a transformative value and as such it fulfilled its purpose

    Many of us human beings have very dysfunctional ways of relating to life.
    The life out here, and also the inner life as well.
    It doesn’t really do any good to blame it on somebody in some originating story at some point in time.
    Because then we miss our own responsibility in the matter.
    And we ALSO then go to sleep to our own potentiality in the present.

    • @SKRithvik
      @SKRithvik 3 роки тому

      The mind usually gives us narratives. I think our relationship with these narratives is what you define as being “dysfunctional”. I understand your point about blaming though. It usually happens when unanticipated things happen to us when we have no ability to handle it. It leaves us feeling insufficient. So we blame the person or situation that exposed us to our insufficiency.

    I have a question for the admin of this page.
    So I understand the need to make a living and I support your need to do the membership thing. I get that. But that being said, I am wondering if any of the full length satsang talks still exist anywhere here, or online? Because the excerpts work to give a general impression, but for people who haven't heard your full talks, it kind of misses a certain essence, and some people who don't have money and suffering are really needing the support of your blessing. It's a "flow" that is really neccessary, I think. 🙋‍♀️✌🙏 A perception/ reflection from a friend who totally supports you and is grateful for what you have shared these many years.
    I think this would help your membership mission. Just a thought, sent with much love and gratitude. Be very well. 🙏✌🙋‍♀️🎵

    • @Adyashanti
      @Adyashanti  Рік тому +1

      @LizbethPlenty - thank you for your question, and your interest in Adyashanti's teachings. Audio downloads of hundreds of Adya's full-length talks are available for sale in his online store. Unfortunately, we had to discontinue selling CDs and DVDs due to a lack of demand for those formats.
      As for free content, the Teachings page of Adya's website has quite a few full-length videos. adyashanti.opengatesangha.org/teachings/intro-teachings
      And once a month Adya offers a free 90-minute live broadcast which is accessible here: adyashanti.opengatesangha.org/programs/online/broadcasts/ and simultaneously streamed on UA-cam Live. A replay of these talks remains available on UA-cam for 48 hours after broadcast so that those in all time zones can watch.
      Also, in our digital newsletter, we always offer at least one or two free downloads of full-length talks. Here is the link to sign up to receive the newsletter: www.opengatesangha.org/sign-up
      And, finally, Open Gate Sangha has scholarships available for our Sunday Community Practice program, which includes twice-a-month two-hour live sessions with Adya and/or Mukti. Here is a link to apply for a scholarship: bit.ly/3kCCFHu

    I mean quitting social media is not really running away from people in my opinion. It feels like mental hygiene to keep yourself alone ! Why should we interact with ill people ? Whoever come to us, we deal with them as respectfully as we can under the circumstances and be done with it !

      I agree. I quit social media 5 years ago and my mental health has been infinitely better. It’s largely a dysfunctional cesspool, but I suppose it could be used to help one grow spiritually if you are able to maintain your awareness and not get sucked into the drama. The way I see it though is I spent the first 30+ years of my life without it and was just fine, so it’s not something I need in my life.

      Yes, we all have our own difficulties, but what makes each of us great achievers in our own ways is the impulse and choice to continue to practice, even if it’s hard for us. And each of us has our own tailor made collection of difficulties. The pathways we follow are so individual, we can never compare ourselves to the others we may bump into. If one seeker seems to be further along the path than another, it is just illusion - because of your difficulties you may have put out more effort than the other seeker.
