Thank you!!! The ABS indicator has been driving us crazy for years! The mecanics had no idea and said it was a faulty computer, brought some ABS sensors and asked them to throw them in at our last service. SILENCE ON THE DRIVE HOME!

Mine has done this today, on a VE 375,000 km Before ill replace i give a clean first and go from there, great vid by the way

You were lucky mate I bet you will still need to replace them fairly soon because that doesn’t always work.
Great video mate, I couldn't see any moving parts relating to the sensors. Yes there was dirt build up on both of them. I just cleaned the existing sensors and put them back in and it cleared the fault. Cost $0.00. Cheers

Car had been sitting outside in the weather for 8 weeks, first time in its life whilst being transported from Qld to WA. Abs fault on delivery changed both rear sensors and took it for a quick spin problem solved. Thanks for the video 🤙

Would the front sensor make the stability control fault light come on. I've done the rear ones and my stability control fault is still there. Anyone got any ideas

Whats the location of the speed sensors for VE 2009 Commodore? On the transmission? Just 1?
On my VE the retaining bolts have E-Torx heads. The correct socket is an E8. A 1/4 feels like it fits but will eventually round the head.
They are a odd bolt, they should have used a hex bolt

Got the abs light on my vy on aswell and also "trac off" light witch wont let you turn on, would an abs sensor cause the traction light to come on aswell.
I’d say yes, I’m not sure if it’s exactly the same as a ve but I’d clean the sensors first and see if that helps before getting new ones
Dose the abs sensor affect taking off in 1st gear for manuals????
I have the abs and stability control faults coming up and when I try take off in 1st gear sometimes the car shudders and is crappy to drive away

How about the fronts? Is the sensor part of the hub assembly or does it come apart from it? I didn't notice a bolt when I had a quick glance. I Have a front right wheel speed sensor fault.
Im not 100% sure about the fronts but I believe the abs sensor is part of the hub itself

Rear LH Sensor Fault with diag tool. Change Sensor but still in fault.
Recon the wiring harness needs to come of and check now.
Hey man! I’ve got the same problem! Just wondering which sensors you actually bought off eBay? Are all the VE ABS sensors like a “one size fits all” kind of deal? The ones I’m seeing are all statesmen ones and it’s just confusing me so I figured I’d ask. Great video btw man! Definitely looking forward to changing this over myself and getting more hands on with car fixes. Ta
Yes they are all the same VE series one and two as well as WM Statesman

@@mute5634 no seems the guy that put my alternator in didn’t have the negative battery terminal attached to it so all my lights were coming on took it back everything’s good now rear left wheel grinds when I excelerate on take off then stops! Beyond me but I’m over the car fix one thing another fks up

Usually the rears are problematic, some cases front can be the problem but it’s mostly the rears
Ok so after getting ripped off at Repco, I’ve replaced both speed sensors, first time I started the car it was clear for about 30 seconds, then she threw the faults again. It now throws the faults as soon as I start the car, so back to square one. Any suggestions?
If the new sensors aren’t fixing the problem then good chance the wiring loom is no good

@@mystry4022 it’s either the wiring loom OR it could be the front abs wheel hubs, the abs module OR throttle body in the engine bay. I’ve got this problem too. Already did the wheel hubs, abs module and throttle body still got warnings. Next up I’ll do rear abs sensors if that don’t work I’ll do the rear wiring
I have ABS and ESP coming up with a weird bump in the break pedal when reversing out of the driveway. Than everything goes fine. A mechanic couldnt find the problem because the code doesn't tell the problem and was fine when he had it. Confused. Any ideas?
I had that same issue and it was these sensors that were the cause

Yes one each side, see if giving them a clean fixes it if not then get new ones
I have the abs light as well as a noise from my rear right. It's not like the brakes are on, more like the pads are not releasing fully.
Sound like the sensor still?

@@Aidoz_Garage I will. Dtc code is for rr wheel sensor. Someone commented about a noise. I was just wondering if a failed sensor could somehow cause this noise
Possibly yes, I’d recommend getting the new sensor and see if it goes away first

Did you run an OBD reader on it for the error code or just assumed it was that and only that? I wonder if this is the fix then that's great but if it's not then the search starts lol ... I'm getting the following codes: C1210 (x2 - 1 confirmed and 1 pending), C1224 and C1235 (x 2 - 1 confirmed and 1 pending).
The abs fault doesn’t set codes
@@Aidoz_Garage ah right, they're the DTC ABS codes I got when I plugged in the reader - I've since looked em up and the code read I got are the following:
- C1210 - Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit High
- C1224 - Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit
- C1235 - Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Low
Do you need to scan to remove the error after you do this? I replaced them and the fault is still there.

I've seen a few vids on this now & another mechanic said the wiring loom would need to be replaced if the errors are still showing up.
I also have this issue, started doing it after I replaced the front struts. My scan tool wont read ABS codes, but took it to the mechanic to scan it and came up with "C0050 Rear Right Wheel Sensor Open Circuit / Incorrect signal" Thought I might have dropped the strut on one of the front sensor looms, but righto inspected the rear right sensor to find that the plastic corrugated sheath that protects the two wires had rubbed the insulation off the brown wire , probably from suspension movement over time, chopped that bit out and shortened by about 30 mm and soldered and shrink wrapped the joins and wrapped it in insulation tape and re-wrapped the sheath with insulation tape and checked for continuity from the sensor plug back to the 4 pole connector just next to the right fuel tank and that was fine. ASB fault came on as usual with the ignition so took it for a drive with no luck. ABS and ESP both still on. Also noticed that turning the wheel full lock to the right and back to centre clears both ABS and ESP faults while driving at 10 ish kmh, but after 2 seconds of driving in a straight line the ABS and ESP lights come back. Replaced the rear right sensor with a Delphi one from Repco, put it in and still no luck. My only other option that I can think of is to either get the pressure washer to try and clean there the magnet that the sensor picks up on (on the bearing I believe) as I live on a gravel road and might be caked with dirt, or remove the rear hub assembly and inspect it further in case by a 1 in 100,000,000 chance that there's a rock or something lodged in there preventing a clean signal, but if that were the case it wouldn't come on with the car stationary. So I'm hoping a pressure wash may clean dirt off it. Still a working progress of trial and error.....
If you are certain that the abs sensors aren’t causing the issue a bad map sensor can also trigger stability control and esp errors
@@Aidoz_Garage And ABS faults too? Got me buggered as to why a steering full lock to the right and back to center clears it for a moment then.
@@andyj986 seems odd Because it’s usually the rear sensors that go, it may be worth having a look at the front wheel sensors, I’d start with electrical contact cleaner
@@Aidoz_Garage Yeah it's been a 3 day headache haha. Could also be a wheel bearing on the rear right, I believe the magnet that the sensor reads is on the wheel bearing casing.
@@Aidoz_Garage Just to follow up, on my case the magnetic strip on the rear wheel bearing was damaged which was giving a incorrect voltage reading from the wheel speed sensor. Pressed out the old bearing to find 1/4 of the strip was broken and missing. Pressed in a new bearing and no more ESP and ABS faults after a short drive.
I just done this and nothing changed I still have the error coming up. Is there Anything else I can check
Can have a look at the abs sensor wiring to make sure nothing is wet or damaged, sometimes the abs light will clear after a drive cycle is you have replaced the sensors

The abs error can also be caused by the front speed sensor hubs as I found out
I'm thinking that could be my issue, I've replaced the back ones but still have the error.

Changee wheel bearing assembly and now have both codes , changed abs sensor still have codes , even telling me contact dealer 😂 any ideas boys

You will not have abs brakes and you won’t have traction control

I have a 2012 ve ssv with only 37.000kms on it.
Its been stored in the shed unregeo'd for the past 5 years.
The battery went flat and I had to jump start it. Since jump starting it. I now have this error coming up.
Ive checked every fuse in the car. Inc under the bonnet, in the boot and pass side foot well and zero blown fuses.
I don't know how the sensor can be faulty, because the car hasn't moved out of the shed.
Its got me f%%ked and is doing my head in.
I just detailed it to put it on carsales for sale and cant now until I resolve this issue.
I just replaced the battery with a brand new one, I have a code reader and am getting the U00121-00 /present code.
I cleared the code and even left the both battery terminals off for a week and it still hasnt cleared.
I just brought 2 new rear sensors online and will swap them out soon.
If that doesn't fix it. It will have me f##ked as to what it is.
All this because of a flat battery FMD....
I’d take the rear sensors out and clean them first and see if that helps
@@Aidoz_Garage no worries, thanks for the advice. Just couldn't understand why there were no problems until the battery went flat and I hadn't washed it, so they had not got wet.
I even unplugged the plug that goes into the abs unit under the bonnet and still nothing.
Worth a try they can get dirty over time see how you go 👍🏻

I just finally got 5mins to change out my 2 rear sensors. Cleared all the codes.
Turned on the ignition and bang.
The error is still there.
I plugged my scanner in and got a few codes.
C004-00 rear left wheel speed sensor malfunction (present).
U0121-00 (present) CAN-Bus no communication with EBCM (electronic brake control unit).
These appear to be my problem Im feeling.
BUT
who knows.
@@terryjones3018 hmm that’s odd try disconnecting the battery so it does a full reset that might help, if that doesn’t work then it might be the wiring harness that plugs the rear sensors that needs changing
didnt help how to get the main loom off. you have to take the plastics off and all
