You can make sodium carbonate by heating sodium bicarbonate in a 250-300F oven on a foil lined baking sheet for about an hour, you should lose 1/3 of the total weight.
This method is used often for making Japanese ramen noodles at home.
Wow looks delicious. Thank you for your recipe
Wow! Thumpa looks delicious 🤤 👍❤️
Paldenla 🙏 for sharing authentic Tibetan recipes. I have been using your recipes with my family. 🙏🙏🙏
Looks great . Thank you for sharing this recipe of Bhoethuk. Like you said ‘ bhoethok’ is the essential ingredient in making the noodles. Probably the name ‘ Bhoethuk ‘ is derived from the fact that it has ‘ bhoethok ‘ as an ingredient. I use carbon bicarbonate but never baking powder. Thank you again for another traditional dish.
It looks so delicious, I don’t have Bhotok so I will try with baking soda as you mentioned. Thank you for sharing an easy and simple way to make Tibetan noodles. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🙏🙏👍👍👍
Palden la thukpa is all time favourite… thank you again!
Amazing . When I try it at home, it never turns that great. I guess practice is the key word. Shukriya.
Bhoethuk is our family's favorite noodle. Usually we get the bhoe powder from Tibet but not available anymore so thank u for the substitute by using sodium bicarbonate. I m surely going to try making it and the thought of bhoethuk is making me all excited😆😆😆

Hey, I love your videos. My wife is from the Monpa tribe. She grew up in the orphanage there. So I try to make a lot of Tibetan food for her since she doesn't really like to eat much of anything else. Just wanted to say thank you for all the videos you post. They're simple follow and always makes my wife happy.
Awesome 👍👍👍😜😜😜
This looks good! I love alkaline noodles.
Sodium carbonate can be made by baking sodium bicarbonate, so it is still quite accessible in the west and it is what I use for ramen and Chinese alkaline noodles.

Don't throw hot water directly into tne sink, it hurts wetworms in the draiinage.
why add soy sauce, it is ruining authentic Tibetan taste.
