They made a smart move with not selling to Disney...
Thank god.
yeh definetly
I bet Disney wouldnve taken out the thrill rides
They would take out the thrill rides and made it for kids.
I'm glad Knotts isn't selling out and keeping prices reasonable unlike Disney
Me too! :)
I stopped going to disney as a result. I can get my family in, parking, food, and souveniers for the same price it takes to get into the gate at disney
The season pass is as expensive as a one day trip to Disney
Honestly I hate Disney. You can go to Knotts and Magic Mountain for a cheaper price and have a blast. On the other hand, Disney is charging you and arm and a leg just to get in and most of their attractions are family rides.
And Universal. $175 nets you a low-tier annual pass while Disney will charge around $800-$900 for that.
Xcelerator is a terrific ride! Also I understand there is a Jaguar ride at Knotts but you only mentioned the Jag-You-Were ride...
It definitely seems like one, I'd love to ride it some day. Funnily enough, it's the same ride! Us Brits, the one's who invented the English language, pronounce 'Jaguar' this way. :)
I will add it to the list. :)
Why add "the ones who invented the English language" in there? It makes it look like your saying your pronunciation is superior.
Henry Peter Because the British technically *did* invent the English Language.
@@TestingChannel1407 It is the only way to pronounce Jaguar
good thing Disney didn't buy it the prices would have been jacked up a hell of a lot higher
Not really, unless there is demand for the park. Disney is not the only park that does this. supply and demand. Also Knotts does jack up their prices for their haunt. Every year the prices go up, and maze count goes down for no reason..
Zonies Coasters yeah
Not to mention Disney would have ruined the "real" factor of this park.
Lol vary true
And the rides would all be kiddie rides
Excellent work on this introduction. I started going there since 1975
Thank you, that's great to hear! :)
COASTER BOT I love ur vids
On a side note, Calico Railroad at 5:21 is not a re-creation. Knott came to Colorado and purchased two narrow gauge Rio Grande Southern engines and some passenger cars (and one Galloping Goose!) when the railroad faced abandonment in the early 1950s. Now 136 years old, these are living pieces of history that add to Knott's authenticity.
That's awesome to hear! :)
I love this park so much. It’s the first park where I found my love for roller coasters and I will never forget how awesome this place is! I’m sad that Boomerang is gone tho.
That's really awesome to hear! Hangtime looks far better then Boomerang though :)
6:07 Cedar Fair also owns Cedar Point, Carowinds, Canada's Wonderland, King's Dominion, and King's Island. Do you mean that this is the only theme park in the chain with good theming?
These can all be considered Amusement Parks, which are different to Theme Parks. As you have understood, the theming is the difference.
COASTER BOT Ok, it just sounds poorly worded
Many don't understand the difference between 'Theme Parks' and 'Amusement Parks' which has caused a lot of confusion.
JAG Just A Guy yes
Canoon Eggy Theme parks have theming. A Park that brings you into a whole new world is basically a theme park. Or a park with an initial theme. Amusement parks which is what most of the cedar fair parks are is basically a big park with a ton of rides in it. So Coaster Bot is basically correct since this park does have theming.
I love this theme park
Great to hear! :)
I'm watching this video at Knott's! Cool video!
Great to hear! Thank you very much :)
miguelWOOL I'm watching this at universal islands of adventure
ThorpePark Review I'm watching this at Portaventura
I'm watching this at home!
miguelWOOL I'm watching this on the toilet!
The Soap Box Racers were at Knott's from 1980 to 1996. Windjammer Surf Racers took it's place from 1997 to 2001 and then came Xcelerator in 2002. Before 2004's Silver Bullet, the Reflection Lake water show entertained people from 1989 to 2003. The Parachutes were part of the Sky Cabin from 1976 to 1999/2002.
And before the water show they had the fireworks machine
WOW you know A LOT about knotts berry farm
i been in knott's about 20 times
Thats awesome! :)
COASTER BOT thx :)
christopher ruiz same
I have been on the Corkscrew in both Knotts Berry Farm and Silverwood Theme park, that is pretty awesome!
Great to hear! :)
Corkscrew-->Boomerang-->Hangtime!
I'm too young for corkscrew but my parents used to ride it at Knott's and it's cool to hear about
They took boomerang off but have u rodé hangtime i. Have ITS SO FUN
Fuckin lucky
I'm surprised this video didn't mention anything about the Plunge
Unfortunately there's a lot to cover in a single video meaning things get missed out, sorry. :)
Yah Perilous Plunge was my favorite ride there when it was summer! So fun!
Yeah also since the fact someone died on it
MermaidAG Productions So just because someone died on it, it can’t be a good ride...?
MermaidAG Productions maybe we’re cousins lol
Boomerang, SilverBullet, GhostRider, and Xcelerator are my favorite😂😊
Awesome! :)
MoonLight Star boomerang is no longer there
Max Tennis // Uh... Its smooth.
Chick-fil-A Back then before they put new tracks that made it smoother, it was ruff back then,
Caryoumad // Oh I know that lol I just never ridden it as a child.
Hi! Would you consider making a video explaining different types of roller coaster maneuvers? Like cobra rolls, corkscrews, etc.? Most coaster enthusiasts seem to have all the kinds memorized but I can never keep track of them. You make everything so clear, I'd love to hear your take on it!
I'd love to make a video about roller coasters elements. It's already on the list, and you'll probably see it at some point in the future! :)
I know this video is old (ish), but I always leave with a sad face because I am leaving the park (I love Knott’s)
I can imagine! Who ever wants to leave a theme park? :)
COASTER BOT ikr? Also, have you ever cried when you were 6 and told you had to leave Disneyworld? If so, you’ll understand my saneness that I had to leave.
It Was My First Theme Park,At Least I Didn't Cry Like Kids In Disney
I love these videos so much can't wait to see where your channel goes
I am extremely glad you enjoy the videos. There is definitely more exciting things to come in the future! :)
Great overview! This video was very informative and helpful. Thank you!
Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed the video :)
Yay! I love this series! Great video!
Thank you very much. I am glad you enjoy these videos :)
who is watching this after boomerang was removed.
me
M35S me
Me
M35S me 😭😢
At least hang time will be there ;D
Great videos. Love these type of videos with others as they provide lots of information. Love them keep it up ps huge fan!!🎢🎢🎢👌😊😊
Thank you very much! I am glad you enjoy the explained videos, there is definitely more to come. :)
The Timber Mountain Log Ride is my favorite ride of all time. The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland is second and E.T. at Universal Studios is third.
Do a Santa Cruz beach Boardwalk one!
I will add it to the list, thanks for the suggestion! :)
Knott's is the original "California Adventure"! haha :) I love Disneyland's California Adventure of course, but Knott's definitely has a more unique, organic feel in presenting the history of California: they have educational performances by Native Peoples and recreations of different architectures of Native Americans throughout the land (like Pacific Northwestern big houses and Pueblo adobes); the Fiesta Village is themed to the long Mexican history of CA starting as far back as the Spanish missions, and the Ghost Town to the mining towns of the Gold Rush and railroad system! So awesome! :)
pony express was closed when i went and i'm still not over it
Nobody ever mentions the Motorcycle Chase -- the scariest coaster ever. So scary and dangerous that they replaced the motorcycles with boring & safe soap boxes. ..also, no mention of Knott's painfully slow-moving lines. Even if the line is short, you'll be waiting forever.
haha. YES! I wasn't old enough to ride the Motorcycle Chase but my sisters were. They were scared to death holding on for dear life. When I was finally tall enough, they became soap box racers. We loved them!
Rudy Aguilar ggg
Tommy Lamm it wasn't scary scary but just scary
Tommy Lamm cough cough silver bullet cough cough
I go to knotts often and the lines are not that bad. Especially in comparison to Disney land
i live down the street from knotts i have pass and can see it from my house so i go relatively often pretty cool vid bc i learned some things i didnt know. Thanks man and keep up the good work coaster bot
That's awesome to hear! It's great that you have learnt something from this video. Thank you. :)
Lovely overview. I think the park deserves an updated video! They probably have a few more updates since this one was released.
Hangtime is California's first dive coaster. With a oval loop and replacing Boomerang and Topspin, Hangtime takes up the spot of both rides and opened around 2017.
Great video, Coaster Bot! Knotts was the first theme park i went to as an alternative to disneyland. My opinion is that Knotts Berry Farm is a perfect park for young theme park enthusiasts, as I feel it has rides that are a little more intense than Disneyland, but aren't as intense as magic mountain. I recommend to start taking your kids to Knotts before Six Flags so they can ride rides like Xcelerator to get used to intense coasters.
Thank you very much! That's a very good point. The park does look great :)
one of my fav places, love ya knotts!
Lots of history missed in the video, like the reason the ghost town was added, the reason the park was fenced in and admission was charged, and re-themed areas (Gypsy Camp-Roaring '20s-Roaring '20s Airfield-Boardwalk). Also, much of the ghost town is comprised of original buildings moved to the site.
Who’s seeing this after hangtime has been added
Literally everyone who sees this.
Knotts is so underrated compared to Disneyland and universal studios but it’s still my favorite park. So many memories there.
hey i love your vids best friend keep up the fantastic work
Thank you very much, there is definitely more great stuff to come in the future. :)
aww thank you 😉😄😖😊😊😊😁
My family loved visiting this theme park as it was cheaper than Disneyland and it wasn't that far from our house. I hope to visit the park again one day when I get the chance.
Awesome, hopefully you do get to visit again soon! :)
This is our main theme park to go to since I live in Southern California
Knotts is my favorite theme park
Awesome! :)
COASTER BOT your awesome :)
Thank you! You are too for watching! :)
Thanks for doing Knott's Berry Farm, I commented a while ago about Xcelerator, and I'm glad to see a video that's about the entire park. I love Knott's, and we often buy season passes a lot. Really great video!
Also, what do you think of the new Ghost Rider if you've been on it? it's so much smoother now.
No problem, I am glad you enjoyed the video. Unfortunately I have not had the chance to visit Knott's Berry Farm at all, but I would love to in the future. :)
Hey! I really love your videos. I would love to see Hansa Park or Phantasialand explained! If you make an Video about the Hansa Park, I would really love to help you, because I know alot about it.
Thanks great to hear, thank you! Those are two parks I'd definitely love to cover in the future. I will add them both to the list. I'll contact you at the time of production if you'd like to help out with the facts of the Hansa Park video. :)
Great! Its a big honour for me to help you!
i was expecting like a horror event but sounds pretty fun over in the usa . good job coaster bot
Thank you! There are a tiny number of 'horror events' in the theme park industry. It's rather safe. :)
Awesome video!
Thank you! :)
Woah, I knew this since elementary. I feel old now.
Nice video! It would be cool to see one on Silver Dollar City!
Silver Dollar City is on the list! :)
Xcelerator is so much fun. I never expect the launch to go that fast that quick
That's awesome to hear! :)
Now they have Hangtime too! I really want to go back to Knotts, i haven't been since like 2006 or so and it's only a 6 hour and 7 minute drive from my house in Phoenix.
You definitely need to revisit! :)
i was on the wind seeker while it was still open but it actually stopped mid air and we sat there for like 15 minutes before the ride brought us down, glad they finally closed it
That's interesting to hear.
They took out boomerang and are putting in “hang time” which is the first and only dive coaster in California and will be the 2nd roller coaster in the Western Hemisphere to feature negative g force... I just went to knotts yesterday and I’m going back as soon as this ride opens it looks so fun
Indeed they are, Hangtime looks fantastic. It isn't the 2nd roller coaster to have negative G-Forces in the Western Hemisphere though. There are many rides with negative Gs! :)
my most favorite theme park considering they have a nice reastruant and hotel. the big wooden roller caster always gives me butterflies before i ride it. and the prices for the whole thing are surprisingly cheap. it wasn't so crowded when i went there, probably filled with people by now.
That's awesome to hear! It looks like a fantastic park :)
i went in the 8th grade for a school trip and now im going again in 10th grade for cheerleading and im so excited
That's awesome to hear! Enjoy it. :)
I never want to stop living in Buena Park! ❤️❤️
3:56 Thwack! lol
OMG I love the Silver Bullet me and my cousins go on that ride over and over!!
Can we get an updated version with the addition of hangtime
Damn silver bullet Is pretty fast
I'm so glad this is my home park, located about 15 minutes away. With the very reasonably priced season pass, I can go pretty much every day on my way home from work, haha. Try my best to get a ride in on GhostRider at least nearly every day, though it sometimes doesn't work out obviously.
GhostRider and this look awesome!
Timberline Twister was my first coaster, and my most painful.
lol
I love Knotts and the old west theme! The soapbox racer was so cool. I loved all those kitty-themed billboards. And the haunted part with the strange gravity effects. Also the berry ride was cute..it smelled so good inside :) I went there a lot as a kid but haven't been since 1996.
That's awesome! You should give the park another visit :)
I wish! Ive been stuck in Wisconsin for the past 10 years but I appreciate old videos :)
Oh I see, fair enough! You should still try to arrange a visit one day! :)
Knott’s Beary Tales was the original ride in the Iron Reef building.
1:31 what movie am i thinking of with this log ride? I swear ive seen this exact ride.
Wish I could get here, but I'm on the east coast of the US. At least I have Knoebels, Hershey, Kennywood, etc.
I live in mi and I have nothing 😥
except for a small park called cedar point
You have michigans adventure 😂😂😂😂
Cant forget about Michigans Adventure! They have all of the state of the art attractions
+Rob's Rides well they do have an airtime filled woodie! (Crazy Mouse)
I live on the east coast, but hey! You get great adventure! That's the best thing about east coast
Like if you've been at least 20 times.
Cedar fair ruined Geauga Lake was when they bought it out and prices went way up so they closed it down. It was a park people could afford to go , till they took over.
The boardwalk wasn't always that. You forgot to mention Perilous Plunge. It was there before the Coast Ridee or what's it called was installed in the park
Unfortunately we cannot cover everything in these videos as they will become excessively long. We therefore purposely miss information out to ensure the video is an enjoyable length. Sorry about this.
ive had knotts passes for years and years and it's nice to know some history about it 😂
That's awesome! We are glad you learnt something about the park. :)
Should it be mentioned after being acquired by Cedar Fair Knott's Berry Farm went through a dark period considered by many fans? After being acquired by Cedar Fair, there was a noticeable drop in park quality and theming. Attractions such as the Mission Models, Knott's Lagoon, Haunted Shack, and Knott's Bear-y Tales/Kingdom of the Dinosaurs, and Walter Knott's original Berry Stand which were taken down either to make way for thrill rides or lack of popularity. Many fans of the themed areas see this as a dark period as much of the history that Walter Knott put into his park in the first place was being disregarded and discarded by Cedar Fair in lieu of a more teenage thrill seeking paradise. Even their popular attractions of the Calico Mine Ride and Timber Mountain Log Ride saw noticeable drops in quality with aging set pieces and animatronics.
It wasn't until recent changes in leadership did things start to turn around. There started to be a more heavy focus towards catering to families and trying to restore what was once lost. The Mission Models were found in a trash heap and were lovingly restored and recently put back up on display in their original places in the parks. The Timber Mountain Log Ride and Calico Mine Ride received heavy refurbishment to update the attraction with new animatronics, lighting, and effects. The Boardwalk area was renovated to remove the existing rides and place in more family appropriate roller coasters. And the old Kingdom of the Dinosaurs building was turned into the family centered Iron Reef attraction.
Knott's Berry Farm is definitively a great place to be with a newfound balance between thrill rides, family attractions, and parts of Walter Knott's original idea of educating visitors on the Wild West. Still many fans cannot deny that the park entered some rough waters around the 2000's.
it definitely did. the whole "mini six flags" thing that was going on was really unfortunate. I really wish they would take out silver bullet and let that lake shine again
I am going to Southern California in two weeks and going to knotts berry farm
Awesome to hear! :)
So happy they decided to remove Boomerang and put in Hang Time!
I lived down the street from Knott's my whole life. Can see Knott's and Disneyland from my backyard :)
That's awesome! :)
Thanks for telling me what a knotts berry farm is
No problem! ;)
Really Great Video! You Should do Explained Videos For the 3 Merlin Parks In The UK. :)
Thank you very much! Those parks are all on the list, and definitely ones I want to cover in the future. :)
Great video! I worked at Knott's for 11 years and loved it. The stagecoach is called Butterfield though, not Butterfly :)
Thank you very much! It's great to hear you enjoyed your experiences at Knott's. I apologise for the error; for some reason I said Butterfly when the script clearly states Butterfield. :)
Could you do a what is Alton Towers, please. It's really close to my heart because the first upside down rollercoaster with inversions in it I rode was The Smiler.
'Alton Towers: Explained' is definitely on the list. That's great to hear, glad you enjoy the park. :)
+COASTER BOT thank you :)
i am soooo freakin excited to go today!
Awesome, I hope you had a good time! :)
thanks :D it was soo fun!
I've visited knotts berry farm twice it was very fun
Great to hear! :)
Is the corkscrew a common coaster we have one at canobie lake
It is a very common roller coaster model, found at countless parks around the world at some point :)
COASTER BOT interesting
My favorite attraction was Wave Swinger, alias Slingshot, when I came to my first ride when I was young, so I came back to the Wave Swinger for a couple times again and again and again. First, I rode on the Wave Swinger at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, then I rode on the Wave Swinger at Santa Clara County Fair in San Jose, California, and finally, I rode on the Wave Swinger at Paramount's Great America in Santa Clara, California. First, I came to the first Wave Swinger at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, then I came to the second Wave Swinger at Santa Clara County Fair in San Jose, California, and finally, I came to the third and last Wave Swinger at Paramount's Great America in Santa Clara, California. I rode on all three Wave Swingers because of the Twenty-Four Wave Swinger Beauties of DIC Entertainment. I hoped you enjoyed those parks, all right? See you soon.
Good thing they didn't sell !!!! I was there 2 weeks ago .....GREAT PARK ......... much love from ATX
Wind Jammer closed because it was really unpopular after people realized how much it bangs your head around. It left riders with a headache afterward
I love Knotts Berry Farm. It's Awesome
That's great to hear! :)
I'm not gonna lie, I went a couple weeks ago and the personnel there was some of the nicest in a park I have ever seen. Probably second to Disneyland (that is the happiest place on Earth lol) it was the first time I had gone to Knott's in 19 years and it was awesome! So many fun rides there!
Awesome to hear, glad you enjoyed it! :)
lol watching this at 12.24 in the morning in the hotel
Awesome! :)
I am Going today I am scared and excited
Awesome, you'll be fine! Have fun and enjoy riding some great coasters. :)
How Was it?
Interesting information...
Thanks :)
6:06 knot's stands as the only park in the cedar fair chain? wha?
It could be argued that the other Cedar Fair parks are Amusement parks, and not specifically theme parks.
Robin Collins ohhhhh
Robin Collins makes sense now
II think he meas the only CF park with a lot of theming
This is indeed correct.
I feel like cedar fair and six flags have so much in common
Correct me if I'm wrong but i wonder how much Hiram Mctavish ties in with Dorney Park newest attraction set to open in 2024 I've been digging around to better understand the lore
How busy does this place get during the week? Do they sell front-of-the line passes?
I'm not sure how busy it gets, but they do sell 'Fast Lane' passes. :)
Can you please do carowinds or valleyfair?
I will add them both to the list, thanks for the suggestion! :)
I use to be a ride operator in camp snoopy I was told timberline is in house build /design so I don’t know about any outside influence
I live in Houston now and we have the Kemah boardwalk which is not a theme park just a boardwalk with rides, but I still remember my first Job which was at Knott's Berry Farm 1996 to 2000 selling entry Tickets and Handling Guest relations!
That's awesome and very interesting to hear. Did you enjoy working at Knott's? :)
COASTER BOT yes actually I did enjoy it, as I was young and my first job, it helped form my first real world experience.
That's great to hear :)
Can you do SixFlags New England explained or valley fair explained please
I will add them both to the list, thanks for the suggestions! :)
will you do any videos on lightwater valley?
The Ultimate is on the list already . What videos would you like to see about Lightwater Valley?
COASTER BOT oh sorry, i didn't mean to say it like that, i just meant if you would do a video like this on it. if you feel it doesn't deserve it then thats fine
I will add "Lightwater Valley: Explained" to the list. However, it's only a small park, so the likelihood of it becoming a reality is slim.
COASTER BOT ok well thank you
Flamingo land is a larger park, as you have said, and I will add it to the list. I cannot judge whether it is a video likely to be made though.
Windjammer was closed when my family went bc the staff said it was too windy. No joke. Soap box racers and corkscrew should have never been removed :(
I left with a frown on my face because my legs hurt
I work for Knott’s and it’s pretty cool working there something. You get a lot inner city people who causes problems but other than that it’s cool
It definitely looks like a cool place to work! :)
@@coasterbot it is there’s a lot of cool people
Boomerang was removed, and now the newest rollercoaster, hangtime, should be opening in the summer if this year, look it up.
I've seen, Hangtime looks fantastic! :)
Can u do Canada's Wonderland Explained?
I will add it to the list, thank you for the suggestion. :)
You're welcome!
+COASTER BOT What is: ispeed mirabilandia please
iSpeed is on the list too. :)
COASTER BOT Disneyland explained???
What did he say on 2:19?
Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop
