Sierra Sidewinder - Extend it into Mack extreme spinner Silver Bullet - Increase to 200ft and add actual werewolf theming Jaguar - Extend into a giga Xcelerator - Increase the top hat to 400ft and add airtime hills. Coast Rider - delete it and build a giga Hang Time - increase the tower to 250ft and make it go underground Pony Express - Ramp up the launch and height into a Giga Pony Ghost Rider - perfect ride, but put scare actors on the ride with guests randomly. Montezoomas Revenge 2 - Just open the damn thing. And extend those spikes so it's a giga Snoopy Coaster - Make it a Giga These are all pretty realistic and I expect to see them in 2025, along with a new Giga.
Ghostrider could fix the one minute brake run but they would still be loading the train. They need two restraint checkers on each side like Silver Bullet and Xcellerator and operations would improve.
giant dipper at belmont is actually smooth in a lot of parts thanks to retrack earlier this year. besides i wouldn’t call it the worst because it’s a piece of history, and has a couple of pops of air
Crazy to think my dad forced me to get on ghost rider with him when I was about 8-9 years old but I’m glad it was my first thrill coaster. He even bought the souvenir photo and my face is priceless 😂❤
Hangtime needs some hangtime elements. Just end it like Mystery Mine with that drawn out flip. Or anything to draw out the inversions. Ghostrider needs a 3rd train. I went in June and it was one train ops. The normal line was hitting 3 hours and the fast lane was over an hour. Also lockers or something to decrease the load time.
The only thing I would fix is to make it to where Ghostrider can run 3 trains again if they used the midcourse and pumped out trains quick enough. As for Montezooma, I had the fantasy idea where they designed it to include a switch track like Mr Freeze to run 2 trains. They would just have to squeeze in the two stations on each side of the ride in between Jaguar and the other would have gone where Huff and Puff was
With the merger and it's limited space I don't suppose Knots will get coaster investments too often, but hopefully when they do there always quality, so far they seem to be pretty successful in that department.
What Knotts has going for them that always gives me hope is they are one of the most profitable Cedar Fair parks. I'm sure even with the new corporate structure that they will favor the parks that bring in the most money. Perhaps even more so now.
Knotts is the most visited park in the chain by a fair bit. As long as that keeps happening they will keep giving it upgrades even if it's upper middle tier instead of the Magic mountain, cedar point carrowinds, kings dominion level due to the land.
From what I’ve heard the fix for the new Snoopys tenderpaw twister is similar to the one for timberline twister: new trains that don’t have the divider in the middle so that two adults could reasonably fit into one car
Ive ridden the new snoopy coaster. Its pretty smooth. My only problem is that the "punch" of the launch happens near the back of the train since I rode in the front.
I agree with all your suggestions. And I would also add that Sierra Sidewinder should have had a longer break run at the end so another train could be added.
Feel like the improvement on Timberline Twister deserves a fantasy rating on the possibility meter, given it's an improvement for a coaster that no longer exists.
When you mentioned Coast Rider, I was expecting you to say for them to just tear it down. But ditching the shin guards in favor of a small door is also a good idea. And while they are at it Knotts, Mack Rides can do the same thing with Flight of the Hippogriff at Universal Studios Hollywood too.
Camp Snoopy's new ride I'm 5'9 but I have long legs and I don't fit in it. You got to be able to pull the bar down to a green section to close it and I barely could get it the bar to move 2 inches and needs to come down like 7 inches.
I saw his video and that gave me hope. Also when in line I saw taller people riding it also. At least the ride ops let my daughter ride it twice once for her and once for me without waiting in the 45 min line. Good luck I hope you get the credit.
I like the best changes you posit, but the more I like them the less realistic they are. But it was an entertaining video to watch, so for anybody watching: that's all that matters. Thanks for posting!
I was curious what you were going to say about GhostRider, and yeah, that's pretty much on target. I've gotten very lucky the few times I've been there, but the dispatches are always slow.
i hope to god they never RMC GhostRider. RMCs are unnecessarily painful if you’re built even slightly different than the norm. GhostRider in its current (perfect) state is arguably the most accommodating in the park and the airtime is great. i know it’s not mentioned in the video but too many people look at wooden coasters and feel nothing but the desire to ruin them
I agree. I couldn’t fit in the Lightning Rod test seat (and most other test seats at Dollywood) but was perfectly fine riding the wooden coasters at Michigan’s Adventure.
@@DoswarePictures I mean.... the wooden coasters at MI have nothing on RMCs when it comes to forces though. You definitely aren't riding any of them with a regular PTC lap bar. I do REALLY wish they could do something about those though. I have long legs, and am kind of skinny. My chins are always raw after the ride if the ride ops are staple happy. Which unfortunately has been a lot this year over the last few. There's really no reason for it. There is zero reason to jam the lap bar down any more after you've contacted my chins. I'm not gonna fly out just because you weren't allowed to crush my legs down with the lap bar.
I think the biggest thing for ghostrider would be to add unload station, would drastically improve dispatch times and wouldn't cost too much. Xcelerator similar idea, but they should but the station where the brake run is so that one train can be launching and the other is loading.
When I went they were allowing taller guests to try Timberline Twister - if they could fit, they could ride. I'm 6'1" and had to contort my body around, but got the restraint to latch (barely) and got the credit...very uncomfortable, and I was just hoping we didn't get stuck so I could stretch my legs again as soon as possible, but it was very memorable and still makes me laugh to this day!
Also add Double sided lockers to Xcelerator, and Ghostrider which can make improve ops and so as hang time while ghost rider needs a 3rd train and some programming which El toro Ryan explained in a video
Can’t believe you didn’t mention Alpengeist for best first drops on B&M inverts, IMO it’s the best one!! Insanely huge and really picks up a ton of speed as well
I agree that MonteZOOMa probably doesn't need comfort collars, as multiple Sky Rocket IIs operate without comfort collars despite a somewhat punchy backwards launch. The same applies to Mr Freeze and if MonteZOOMa gets the same kind of launch as Psyke Underground, I don't see why it would need an upper body restraint.
I go here a couple times a month. Their season pass is super cheap compared to six flags or Disney. I got a pass, meal plan, and a season souvenir bottle for less than half of the basic pass from Disneyland
Knotts is my park and I agree Pony needs to make a left towards the end and run throughout rapids. Yes, it’s comically short. Ghost rider needs to dispatch quicker, never stack. Easy fix but knotts won’t allocate people, they have very little money. They need a second train for Xcelerator, extend station so people can disembark returning train while first train still readies itself.
I’ve had us season pass to Knotts Berry Farm for the past 10 years and the only thing I wish they could do is expand the park. Right now they are at a land lock.
So the shin guards were added to prevent people from sticking their feet out in places where they shouldn't be. Is that the same reason why RMC, S&S, and Chance Rides does that to many of their coasters also?
When Airtime Thrills puts out a vid, it's a great day! Bro, if I had a theme park, I'd let you run all the ideas. Amazing Video! When are you coming back to SFGAm?
Day 3 of asking your top 15 favorite roller coaster sounds (some for me are cresting the lift hill on an RMC, soaring with dragons LSM’s, B&M breaks) just general sounds or very specific. I just wanna hear your favorite coaster sounds
Ghostrider should have mandatory lockers (as long as they’re free) and metal detectors to improve dispatches. It might suck, but it might be the only choice.
Pony Express.. remove it and replace it was a small RMC single rail. railblazer at CGA needs a new home. Let's keep it in Cali. I prefer that one over Wonder woman
Knotts needs to make a separate unload platform for Ghostrider. This will give it an extra block zone and permit 3 train ops. Coastrider needs the shin guards torn out and not trimmed to death.
I guess I'm not a "drop" person. The first drop of Silver Bullet has never bothered me, nor the long ramp into the loop on Revolution. To me the drops of any roller coaster seems as perfunctory as the lift hill -- they serve a purpose, gain speed. Maybe there's a bit of a thrill with the yank over the top in the back on a steep enough hill, but once the drop is underway its angle doesn't really matter.
How I’d improve the rides: Coast Rider: Remove shin guards/Replace the ride (Hard) Silver Bullet: Make it faster (Hard) Jaguar!: Give it steeper drops (around 35 to 40 degrees) (Fantasy) Xcelerator: Repaint (Medium) HangTime: Same as Chris Pony Express: Same as Chris Ghostrider: Add more trains (At least three) (Hard)
My problem with knotts is rides being down I grew up in so cal and never once got a ride on xcellerator it was always closed every visit I ever made including the month it first opened
1. Get a third train for Sierra Sidewinder. For several months out of the year it is on one train ops. It always has a line. 2. Jaguar be replaced by a modern family roller coaster. There are so many good models nowadays. 3. 4th train and double sided lockers so can run 3 trains and have dispatch’s 60-90 seconds versus 240-300 seconds on average. 4. Get another B&M something as this park is so crowded and needs greater capacity desperately as mode are low capacity nightmare for lines.
A hyper is actually possible if you let it go into the soak city parking lot. Someone made a render of the mini hyper and it showcases what you can do there.
10:15 between slow ops and being made of wood, I just don't ride Ghostrider anymore. Give it Titan track or RMCs 208. That's my suggestion for all wooden coasters though
Easy, add an extra train to every coaster. And a separate exit station for the biggest rides. Knott's is a fantastic park, but their operations are more comparable to Michigan's Adventure than Cedar Point\Kings Island. Which is laughable given the attendance.
I got horribly downvoted on reddit for not wanting to remove any rides, but I'll try again almost a month later. I'm just going to copy and paste with a few modifications. It was in response to what roller coaster is next to go and I proposed to not remove any coasters, so that's probably why. Here we go: If Jaguar! goes then Silver Bullet's Drop should be steepened. I don't want Jaguar to go, though, but I wish Knott's figured out a way to make Silver Bullet steeper. Maybe remove some buildings and make the drop go underground... Anyway, I'm getting a bit off-topic. But the real answer is Coast Rider. Coast Rider should be removed, Sierra Sidewinder should be put in Coast Rider's plot to give Sierra Sidewinder it's deserved ridership, and build some new flat rides, or a good old kids coaster that is not rated a 4, like Sierra Sidewinder and Snoopy's Tenderpaw Twister Coaster. Or just remove the shin guards. In that case, Silver Bullet needs to go. The ride is just rough and uncomfortable. The ride is mainly forceless, but I see that the ride could get removed for a better B&M invert. Remove some height, steepen the drop. And then here is the order of elements: a wave turn (again), a very powerful rising then diving 180 degree turnaround by the entrance (like how Flight Deck did it), a zero-g roll (again), the double corkscrews (no fakeout) (reference to Corkscrew) (again (kinda)), a helix (again), a new bunny hop and into the brakes. Name it Golden Bullet, or something like that. Or just get new trains with vest restraints. I'm not going to do this multiple times, so retrack Jaguar!. Retrack Xcelerator's overbanked turns. Give HangTime new trains. Give GhostRider faster ops. Giver Sierra Sidewinder trims. Make Snoopy's Tenderpaw Twister Coaster have more accommodating restraints. Remove MonteZOOMa's shoulder straps. Give Pony Express more comfortable trains, LSMs, and make the ride longer. (If you're wondering why there should be trims on the wild side, it's because that ride scares away a lot of kids and that shouldn't be a thing if it's in Camp Snoopy.)
Silver bullet is such a jarring change for a B&M Invert. I went from short but intense to long and good layout but not much force felt so weird . In terms of length given you gave the comparison-Hangtimes too short and could use 10 feet more drop and 2 more inversions-the smiler could use less. Its not bad but it feels like they build another course half way in and its jarring. Ghostrider feels like the perfect free lockers are compulsory a few minutes before you before you board and pick up your stuff afterride as it would speed up the ops a lot. I dont know how youd do it but it feels like the best option if the lockers arnt obstructive.
I’d say Ghost Riders line is actually Fantasy not Easy In my opinion the guests have more to do with long lines than ride ops When you have people standing and waiting for the people in the station it’s a nightmare Ride ops can only say so many times “please exit the area” Also the people who hold up line because they want to ride with someone else so then cars go empty Not to mention the people who take forever to take their seats I’m not a ride op and never have been but I go to several parks a year and MOSTLY bad wait times are due to guests
If I had my own park I would buy possessed from Dorney park. Then bring it back to its original home in ohio. It's new name would be "Geauga Impulse" I would have intamin add 50 ft to each spike so it reclaims the record for tallest shuttle coaster. Would also have the strait spike replaced with a twisted spike with a magnetic hold. The strait track would be cut and 2 zero g rolls would be installed between the launch and the spike. The launch and zero g roll would be enclosed in cool looking steam punk style tunnel. The tunnel would have lighting effects to make you feel like you are going faster then you fly out of the dark into the twisted spike. Each spike would have a blast of fog shoot out of the tunnel when the train is shot out.
If I had to pick one for Xcelerator, it would be to bring back the old color scheme (the pink track with teal supports was my favorite color scheme of all time), and erase even the thought of the hideous one it has now
They need to add single rider lines for most of there coasters, specially Ghost Rider, the line is usually really long on that ride and it's unfair for single riders to wait alone for so long.
I really think Knotts needs a people eater. They don’t really have a coaster that can really eat people up. They need some sort of coaster that can take crowds. Most likely a B&M of some sort giga, hyper, wing, etc
Even though I was born and raised in SoCal, back in October of 2022 was the first time I went to Knott's. Sadly it was an absolutely horrible experience. The only ride I liked was Hang Time. I don't get why so many people love Ghost Rider. I had high expectations when I first rode it and actually hated it. Didn't find it at all smooth and ended up bumping my elbow on one of the turns and came off of it with a huge bruise. Xcellerator was closed and the ride operators were all d*cks when it came to on ride filming. The only one they let me get a POV of was Coast Rider. ua-cam.com/video/tgFIsQLzjRk/v-deo.htmlsi=bsYHd7imJm8nYaFB I doubt I'll ever go back to that park again.
Knott’s kinda makes me sad, they could be a top ten US park if they improved some of their rides (as you present here with detail) but also with overall operations, most notably Ghost Rider dispatch times. A busy day without a Fastpass at Knott’s is far worse than a busy day at a Universal or Disney park. I wish they would clean house with some of their management team and replace them with those who care about charm and a quality product rather than how to make profit.
Sierra Sidewinder - Extend it into Mack extreme spinner
Silver Bullet - Increase to 200ft and add actual werewolf theming

I wish more coasters would add in modified seating like they did for Incredible Hulk at Universal.
Video idea: Which theme park chains don't work with each manufacturer and why
I got horribly downvoted on reddit for not wanting to remove any rides, but I'll try again almost a month later. I'm just going to copy and paste with a few modifications. It was in response to what roller coaster is next to go and I proposed to not remove any coasters, so that's probably why. Here we go:
If Jaguar! goes then Silver Bullet's Drop should be steepened.
I dont know how youd do it but it feels like the best option if the lockers arnt obstructive.
buy or sell the rumored raptor for kentucky kingdom comes back for a t3 replacement
I’d say Ghost Riders line is actually Fantasy not Easy
In my opinion the guests have more to do with long lines than ride ops
When you have people standing and waiting for the people in the station it’s a nightmare
Ride ops can only say so many times “please exit the area”
Also the people who hold up line because they want to ride with someone else so then cars go empty
Not to mention the people who take forever to take their seats
I’m not a ride op and never have been but I go to several parks a year and MOSTLY bad wait times are due to guests
I think it would be managable to replace coast rider with a 290 foot hyper coaster
What coasters have a "door" on the side of the car?
kid coasters sometimes do, especially ones at fairs
I can't think of coasters but tons of flat rides do. Esp the ones for kids
If I had to pick one for Xcelerator, it would be to bring back the old color scheme (the pink track with teal supports was my favorite color scheme of all time), and erase even the thought of the hideous one it has now
The best way to improve Coast Rider is to remove it
They need to add single rider lines for most of there coasters, specially Ghost Rider, the line is usually really long on that ride and it's unfair for single riders to wait alone for so long.
Ghostrider is the best coaster in the state!!! Change my mind!!
Twisted Colossus better

its not painful 😭🙏

I really think Knotts needs a people eater. They don’t really have a coaster that can really eat people up. They need some sort of coaster that can take crowds. Most likely a B&M of some sort giga, hyper, wing, etc
Silver Bullet should be a people eater
Almost every coaster. Operations. Silver bullet, re-do it before the cobra roll.

I doubt I'll ever go back to that park again.
Surprised Ghostrider was rough. Since its retrack i think its been great
Honestly thought Silver Bullet was far more intense than Alpengeist
I HATE the lap bars in Hangtime. That bar crushes your junk. It’s the most uncomfortable coaster seat ever.
Turn GhostRider into the first ever wooden Giga. Break 2 stones with 1 bird.
Those poor stones
The WORST part of Ghostrider is the ADA Access
