i screw my brake adjusters out.. tighten the brakes hard to the wheel then back the adjuster in to get them backed off. i used a bare fram giant iguana and the rear hanger alignment tool screwed into the hanger as my measuring pin. you needed to adjust the rear for egg then go over it all again Tourney RD need to be realigned over and over.. hate them I'd have been tempted to part this out first then maybe rebuild with the DISC tabs and a better RD
Another great job Bruce , I have a Trek 930 singletrack that I need a front brake cable hanger for , it had a shock on it but I took it off & put the original fork back on now I need the original cable hanger, any idea where I can find one , bike is I think a 1993 model , I really enjoy your videos & I am a subscriber .
thank you Fergusonto! I actually recently got a 1996 Trek Mountain Track 800, still trying to figure out what to do with it. As for the cable hanger, maybe something like this: amzn.to/47xLpSu
being it was already set, I really just needed to bring it back to the same place is was, if anything were changed then I couldn't have done it like that. But I was sort of not confident that it would work like that. So far seems good.
Excellent video much respect from Scotland 🏴
thank you!
You lucky dog
now that you have a truing stand, you should build a wheel. get a dynamo and a light set and build one up
for sure I want to give it a try!
Good result.
3:54 To remove some parts, I sometimes use a rubber hammer or a long metal pipe over the handle of the wrench.
thanks EU! hey you changed your user name right?
UA-cam changed a few things 2 years ago. I searched and was able to put back @20EUR20

interesting, I'll try that approach on the vbrake adjustment. I did consider discs and other parts, but really the frame isn't worth it.
@@BruceChastain I have a giant Iguana frame in the same state.. disc ready.. but used as a truing stand
Looks a nice simple bike that should last years except for the front suspension perhaps.
yeah it'll get frozen one day, but should still work. Would have been better if they just made it rigid to start with it.
Great job god bless

Huh? How would you be able to adjust the bottom bracket on that bike? Did you just tighten the non drive side cup all the way?
