Watched this last 2 months. Gotta say it's quite disturbing when it comes to super-powered children showing their dark side. Highly recommended. Rare type of movie.

i just watched it and the feeling of suspense is UNMATCHED. i dont think i have ever been so nervous, anxious, felt so gut wrenching, sick and angry all at once. such flawless performances, such a captivating movie. just impeccable but left me feeling such a complete sense of unease.
Bravo. This movie was absolutely excellent. The level of caliber acting in these children is grand. This is a must watch for originality & sheer performance by all.
For any readers, Stephen King has a book called “The Institute” that is a similar concept. It’s my favorite book.

If you like this movie, you will like another Norwegian masterpiece “The Trip”. It’s totally different genre but one of the best dark comedies I’ve seen.

If there are common suburb kids in "Dōmu" who have budding supernatural powers that grow stronger the more they use them, they form a social group of supernatural kids and then things go very wrong when one of the children begins to use his/her powers for negative selfish reasons like revenge and punishment.
..then yes, The Innocents is similar to Dōmu.

This one got me, and REALLY tested my patience. But I think it has something important to say. And at few occasions it says more than it needs to. Still had good time tho.
If you like del Toro's movies you may like this because it's like Guillermo del Toro but dialed up.

Wasn’t bad but also not great. the innocents, more like a few sociopathic children murdering each other with intense stares. lot of long stares
Benjamin is the one with psychopatic tendencies. He's a son of abusive single mom and clearly lashes his frustration out on others through his powers.
The other children try to get along with him, and later to stop his destroying/killing spree.
None of the other children even have as destructive powers as Ben (especially his "puppeteering"), theirs are mostly telepathia and Anna can blow out telekinetic "lashes".
Your comment about The Innocents gives an image that you've seen only couple of scenes after the mid-point and base your idea of the movie on those...

Yes, it does. It's probably loosely based on the movie "The Innocents" (1961) which again was based on the novel "The turn of the screw" by Henry James. Amazing story and the movie adaption from 1961 is equally impressive.

A cat scene getting harmed for about 25 mins. It's clear the sick perversion of the director's fantasies in using scenes like these to promote his movie. It would've been enough a quick scene, but no, the sick bastard director went for 25 mins straight

Benjamin drops the cat down several floors and then follows the injured cat into basement storage to let it out of it's misery.
Ida later goes to the basement to check out the dead cat.
More like 5-7mins.
What Ben does to the cat is our first peek into his dark mind and sociopathic tendencies, and important part of his character development.

I started to watch this and couldn't believe they showed the torturing of animals. This is not cool at all. It's disgusting and to subject teens to this is crazy. No wonder people are sick today. I turned off the movie. Hurting any animal is wrong.
Pointlessly overlong, dragging on scenes that could have instead been used on character development. There isn't enough here to stretch the movie to 2 hours.
I had hoped for more character development for Anna but it ended with a black screen very underwhelming missed potential

kind of tired of the foreign based horror movies.
Boring and slow. Mediocre kids with mediocre acting skills. The movie kept trying to make it suspenseful but literally nothing happens. They do nothing with their powers besides brake tree branches. Boring. 2/10 stars!
