I LOVE their chutney, we get it every time we go to the good food show. But my god do I love them even more, they are both absolutely lovely and so full of warmth 10/10
@@zakzanotti5868I gave it a chance and the first candidates were nice guys and the Sharks made a fool of them (including themselves), called their idea bullshit and other mean words and sent them flying in under a minute. Wow. I really liked the 2 of them. So humble and actually just adorable. Im glad they got the stamp of approval and the advertising that'll get from the show, even if they didn't get investment.
I checked out their website. Seems good, and now they mention that there's a shelf life of 1 year (needs to be consumed within 2 months of opening). I also read the reviews. People are liking it. The main suggestion is for them to make it clear on the package how much it contains. Looks like they need to fix the quantity. One guy could not buy the product just because of the uncertainty about the quantity. Otherwise delicious 👍🏻
The green chutney is what we knock up and i've taken it for granted! 5 days max in the fridge before we chuck it so we always end up making Bombay sandwiches
Such humble, sweet people. I really wish I could buy their products. They mentioned a shelf life of 5 months, but for supermarkets that's not long enough. I hope they can make a small investment to mass produce their chutneys at home. The machines they need are relatively cheap.
@@edward9643 You're the one who isn't thinking. This is not how supermarkets work. Check any product that comes in a glass jar and check the sell by date. 1 year is the absolute minimum. Usually it's between 1 and 2 years.
@@johnchapmonkey8933 Thanks for the info. I checked the site and they also ship to my country, but I would have to buy a lot in order to spread the shipping cost. I was disappointed when reading the Privacy Policy though. They are not compliant yet.
@@BenjaminGooseMeh, this is always a dumb semantics argument. It's always clear that reference to chemicals is in regards to artificial additives, preservers etc. But congrats on the pedantry award.
Potato fritters with a fried breakfast are fantastic, my dad did that every Sunday. He also did fried apple slices and banana halves, and after Christmas, he'd fry Christmas pudding...don't knock it till you try it! 😋
Im surprised that it didnt see investment considering how much every dragon raved about the actual product. Surely issues of scaling and price are precisely why they are coming for investment? It sounds like they are working on the shelf life issue.
It's just that with the current revenue, the dragons would have to take a huge share of the business. Plus they hadn't solved the shelf life issue during the time of filming.
Looks a great product, and probably tastes great. But the price point i think is a bit niche to scale to supermarkets and is better at specailist shops and farmers markets. Best of luck to them lovely family.
I wish they went with Debra’s advice and got them into delis but now I hear they are adding preservatives so I hope their business is still going strong today.
It sounds to me like they were gaining more than double their turnover every year. If they kept going, they COULD have gotten between 100,000 and half a million in two or three years. It actually looks quite promising for them. And ramping up the scale could have ACCELERATED this. We know they can get the price down SIGNIFICANTLY. They also seem like lovely people! Yeah, I would have invested in this.

I thought she needed to reveal the recipe and have alot more people working on it, Like opening a factory.. Until I heard she could make 70 a day.. that's actually really good!!
10 days shelf life, without changing the recipe 🤔 I wonder what technique they're using to bottle/jar them? They can be preserved using natural ingredients, without affecting the taste, prevent bacteria from growing and increase shelf life.
This video showed me a lot of people they call in for so called ‘investments’ are there just for views with the dragons with no intention of investing. Its clear they look for any reason just not to invest.
This business is just simply not worth investing in. Expensive product, very low shelf life, no ability to scale up at the minute, no deals with any sort of retail seller. They came on dragon's den with a side hustle and asked for £40,000 and valuable time from multi-millionaires, and didn't have any idea how to make this a successful business on their own.
What? You sounded like a stereotyped British person. The kind whose ancestors must have served in the imperial army and killed a lot of innocent people. Care to explain what you meant?
Steven Bartlett was never going to invest, most of his followers have never picked up a tape measure, they're too busy busy blocking traffic and loving Megan Markle. This programme is so bad now.

This is why I like Dragon’s Den more than Shark Tank because even if the business isn’t investable they still give out a lot if good business advice.
So does Shark Tank lol
