Right before I had a meeting with one of those really creative types, for my own business or for an organisation that I was active in, years ago, someone else who I mentioned this to, someone who also had her own business and like me was doing very down to earth techy things, warned me in advance, and I'm glad that she did. Because if you don't know what creative types are like, it can really throw you.

It wasn't like it could be fixed unless you wanted to pay someone to glue down each and every one of those little scales which would be ridiculous and cost more than the original price of the bag. And I think she's asking way too much to start out. If a celebrity would eventually buy one, then she could jack up her prices. I wouldn't recommend eel skin any day of the week.

I agree that her presentation style was unorthodox and her voice can make for difficult listening; however, the discredit she is receiving in the comments is disgusting. With a price point of 595 against a production cost of around 150, she is achieving what most “non-volume” businesses are trying to achieve. With only having sold two, there is obviously something going wrong, whether it be the market or her - most likely the latter, we still don’t fully know. If the price point is of concern, perhaps dropping it and seeing how many are sold at a lower price point will give an indication of why they aren’t selling.
I love art, but I would hate to be an artist... you're either dirt poor 99% of the time, or you make millions... and nobody can predict it one way or the other. Artists are brave people, man.

The North African continent use fish leather for years. It is incredibly fragile unless you take extreme care of them and the leather just falls apart..... There is a reason this isn't used elsewhere. People have tried making shoes with this. It looks like crocodile skin. Quite frankly; if fish leather was sustainable it would already be being used by all the big existing names because it is CHEAP.

I have an eel skin purse. Fish skin is tougher than bovine leather & lasts for ever.
Fish skin is normally laminated OVER cowhide to make it stronger because eel skin is much thinner than cowhide. So it's a combination of BOTH.
