This was a really interesting and informational video! Also, thank you for not playing random elevator music in the background like most nursing/student nurse videos I've seen.
This was a very good video thank you! I’m currently doing my prerequisites and shopping around for nursing schools. Chamberlain is sounding really good right now.
Happy to help! Honestly for me, the only downside is the high cost (which is a big downside).. but the structure of the program itself is amazing and I can’t complain!
Hope you didn’t make a decision yet. Go to Capella! Dirt cheap! Tuition is 3250 if you have all your prereqs, and if you don’t, you can take them with capella for free. They charge you 3250 every 12 weeks. That’s 3 months! No exams, no discussion posts, no quizzes, all you’re doing is writing papers. It’s 4 papers per class, and there are 8 classes (for BSN that is). In one week I did two classes.
Hi! Just a quick correction. Im in clinicals right now and still taking other classes. You only can take one class WITH a clinical at a time. So if you have a clinical class and, say, nutrition, you can take them simultaneously. :)
Thank You so much for this video. Very Informative. I plan to attend Chamberlain University at Tyson’s Corner this spring semester, I am glad to hear from someone who goes there.
Congratulations! And that is so exciting!! When I started making videos, I saw people from so many other campuses and not Tysons Corner haha I am happy to help!
The late thing is amazing because In my program they don’t care at all under no circumstances can you turn in late work even if you had a family emergency or death in the family. It’s crazy.
That is so ridiculous to me… In general, not just with grades but with everything, leniency totally depends on the professor. Some professors are very understanding, while others are not. The reality is that most of us, especially those of us that are older going back to school, have other obligations aside from just nursing school and life does happen. And in the real world or you can take sick leave, take time off, or ask for an extension… It never made sense to me why some nursing programs are unreasonably rigid!
Hey! So it depends on the course. Once you get to your nursing classes, you have a medical calculation exam that you have to take the very first day of class in every single nursing course. If you don’t pass the exam on that first day, you have to go through more remediation and take it again. You cannot continue in the class if you cannot continue in the class if you can’t pass the med calc exam. Before you get to the nursing classes, when you were just taking Gen Ed courses, you will not have a test the first day or first week of class.
Hello again!, can you please nake a video regarding how to choose the best NACES member to choose from? I have credits from my local community college but i also attended High school in a different country. Thank you!
The discussions are just a paragraph… There are two types of discussions at Chamberlain… One is an actual discussion, where you will need to find scholarly, peer reviewed sources to cite. Then there’s something called community café, which just requires a couple of sentences with no citations!
I'm waiting on Chamberlain to let me know if they accepted me into their school. I know they accepted all of my classes because I have two degrees. I would only have to do my nursing classes when I start. My question is looking at their schedule there would be a semester I don't have any nursing classes, so does that mean I will not be able to take any classes during that time?
Good luck! You should be taking classes every session, especially since you’re just doing nursing classes. Where do you see a gap in your potential schedule?
Hi! A few people have asked me about this over the years, and to be honest I don’t know much about programs for international students. But I can do research and possibly do a video in the future!
Hi I have a question, you mentioned that Chamberlain accepts credits from any accredited institution. You said that it wont affect your GPA? Can you elaborate more on this? Cause my biggest worry is my current GPA, which is VERY LOW. Im currently attending a community college, and have been considering transferring to Chamberlain sometime within the next few months. Also last question: Is the lecture part of the classes online or in-person?
Hey so I transferred in with credits… but when I started at a Chamberlain, my GPA was non-existent. So after my first session at Chamberlain, I made all A’s and my overall GPA was a 4.0… so your credits transfer but your GPA does not.
Also, I’m regards to lecture it depends on the campus and the class. Lectures on my campus are back to being in person… some classes require you to go to campus each class, some classes are totally virtual, and some classes have lectures online but you have to come to campus to take exams. Hope that helps!
Hiii, I'm new to your channel came across your video after searching BSN programs and its interesting that the school does not require pre req I will definitely look into this school im currently attending TWU nursing but taking all these pre reqs smh
Hey! The program doesn't require pre-reqs for acceptance, but it does require them for graduation. So you can enter in with all of your pre-reqs completed, or you can complete them in the program. If you are still doing pre-reqs in your program and you transfer to Chamberlain, you will probably still have to complete more pre-reqs before clinicals.
Hey! Thank you for watching! Reach out to an advisor at a campus close to you, either by email, or call the school. Let them know that you are interested in attending the nursing program and let them know that you have credits from a previous degree that may transfer over. They will have you send them your transcripts and they will evaluate your credits to see what you can transfer in. This will definitely lower the cost of your tuition anywhere from $5k - $30k!
Hey! So, you can get a transcript evaluation and then take more credits at another university and get another transcript evaluation later.. But if you are accepted into the program, once you start classes Chamberlain will not accept any credits from another university. Hopefully that answers your question!
Hello, I’m new to your channel and I’m interested on attending Chamberlain. If anybody aware about StraighterLine please let me know cause I would like to know if I can transfer there transcript. Thank you
Hey! Thank you so much for watching my video! I heard about straighterline after I started at Chamberlain, and I know that some of my classmates used it. I would reach out to an advisor to see exactly what you can transfer.
At Chamberlain, students have the ability to take a proficiency exam for select courses. If they pass the exam, they do not have to take a course. If you’re interested in doing this, definitely contact your advisor to see what your options are!
Hey so every session is different. This session I don’t have any classes that have set meeting times, so I get assignments every Monday and just have to submit everything by Sunday night. Last session I only had one class with a meeting time and that was just one weeknight a week for 4 hours (every Wednesday from 6 - 9:50 PM). Next session I will have one class that requires me to go to campus two nights a week (every Thursday and Friday). Hopefully that helps!
Hey, I’m actually not sure… Chamberlain will accept prerequisites from other schools, but cannot accept nursing credits to be transferred in. If you think you have prerequisites that can be accepted at Chamberlain, definitely reach out to an advisor to check!
Hey they are a combination of the three for the program I’m doing! There is a day program where there are classes only during weekdays, but with the evening and weekend option you do have a combo of virtual and in person night and weekend classes.
Hey! Chamberlain does not have prerequisites that you need to take before you can apply and get accepted into the program. If you transfer in with your prerequisites done, it can save you a lot of money though!
Can you do a video on the HESI?? What your scores were and how studied for it. I’m planning on starting at Chamberlain the next start date and I’m so nervous about taking the HESI
Hey! So my courses so far have started at 6:00 PM, or there has been no meeting time. First session, I had one class from 6:00 - 9:50 PM every Wednesday and my other course had no meeting time- I just had to submit all my assignments by the due date and the rest was self study. Next session, I will have A&P III every Thursday from 6:00 - 8:50, and every Friday from 6:00 - 8:00.
I did not complete all of my pre-reqs before the program. I knocked out a bunch (chemistry, A&P 1, statistics, a bunch of gen eds…) but I still have some to take before getting to nursing courses/ clinicals. I have to do A&P II, bio and some random gen eds while in the program.
This was a great informational video! I was told that Chamberlain doesn't need pre-requisites. I am guessing for the campus I am going to. I don't think it is for all campuses but I could be wrong. Also for the evening class, do you go in every day or you are strictly online? That is awesome to know! Thank you!
Hey thanks for your comment! You don’t need to have any pre reqs completed to be accepted at Chamberlain. People like to enter in with credits because you can finish the program a little faster that way and save money… but it’s not required! And in person/virtual depends on the campus. My campus has a bit of a hybrid. Some gen education courses are solely online, while others are solely in person. And all nursing courses are in person I believe. I just took a political science class which was 100% online and Anatomy and Physiology which was 100% in person two nights a week
@@theluckienurse ok great! I will be attending the Irving campus and will be going to the information session virtual tomorrow evening to get more information regarding the program. Thank you so much for responding. Your videos are very helpful!

If it was a class that only met once a week, that’s when it would be those long four hour classes.
Hey! Are you going to Chamberlain? At Chamberlain, classes are eight weeks… But you may be taking multiple classes at once. You can only take one clinical at a time. For example, right now I am taking adult health, which is MedSurg, and I am also taking nutrition which is not a clinical course. Some of my classmates are currently taking three classes right now.
