Yes I do get tired, it comes and goes.... I couldn't remember a name of a restaurant the other day, and my Mother in law who knows I'm going through this, said to me, well I'm old age so I can't remember what's your excuse? I looked up and said one word.... menopause, she then was silent....some people don't seem to understand what we are going through even though some of them, have been through it themselves.... People don't seem to understand that are so many health issues that come with the Perimenopause.... This is great advice as always....look after yourselves, self-care is very important.

Balance sounds so easy..I have a dog so I walk her 30 minutes 3xs a day.
I was biking and exercising too much and I am experiencing much worse arthritis issues.
My hips hurt and I have muscle spasms and weakness. I know it's not the menopause itself, but these other conditions made worse by the estrogen swings.
I cant wait to feel better someday. There's so much I want to do that my fatigue has robbed from me.
I still love my husband, and like him ( most days) so I count that as a blessing.
Thanks for being such a helper to women and talking about these things.
A video on sex and relationships would be nice also.

Take heart, there is a light at the end of the tunnel although it can seem so far away when you are in the midst of the menopause!
We have thought about doing one on sex but I am not an expert in this field so it is quite a difficult one to do!

Hypothyroid - problem is UK doctors do not want to help unless TSH is 11 or above.
But when TSH is 5 (or even lower), you already feel very tired and sluggish and your body is feeling that way too.
Endocrinologists are even worse and have been known to say things like "you are [nearly] 50, what do you expect?". This is very disempowering. How can it even be allowed in this day and age.
I believe we all expect to be well or to at least have a chance to be so... is that too much to ask?

Have you done a video on hair loss , my hair's falling out like nobody's business and because my basic blood tests came back normal my doctor won't investigate further. I've lost about 1/3 of my hair in the last 18 months and bald patches are starting to become noticeable. It falls out in bunches when I wash it (I wash it only twice a week) What can I do? At this stage in going to be bald by the time I'm 50 , it's super distressing

      Hi
You could try the herb Plantago, we recommend it for sinus congestion. You could also try breathing oils such as camphor or eucalyptus as these help to open up the sinuses.

I always ate like a bull and was in shape. After the age of 43, I gained 11 kilos. I am 48 now. I still have periods, but I am feeling exhausted, and at night U feel like my heart is struggling to beat or something, which makes me panic because I have a 7 years old child to raise. I also can’t eat normally anymore. I feel full eating much much less and feel totally lethargic after I eat. My energy levels are so low now, it is dreadful. I feel like this symptoms combined are in the way of me living my best life. I need a solution. 😢

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  4 місяці тому

      Hi Pat
Constant fatigue can often be caused by other health issues that often appear at the perimenopause. Low iron (anaemia), under active thyroid function, vitamin D or B12 deficiency can all cause fatigue, anxiety, poor sleep and joint/muscle pains so it is a good idea to ask your doctor to test for these just to rule them out. If it is any of these, they are easily treated!

Hi Michelle, Sorry to hear that you are unwell. Having an existing health condition can make the menopause symptoms worse. You could try the Sage to help tackle hot flushes and drink more plain water through the day to help hydration and energy levels. I would suggest that you let the GP know regarding these symptoms. Ask them to test for low iron, low thyroid or low Vit D just to rule them in or out. Then you can see what the next step is.

Bleeding gums are quite common in the menopause but it is important to get a check up from your dentist just to rule out any gum infection. In the meantime there is a supplement called CoQ10 which is known to help bleeding gums.
