I have 1 with a intermediate pulse that I believe is a bad torque converter. So I got a used one that has a slip on the 2 3 shift that is causing a traction control
Is it possible to replace the 456 clutches in vehicle. By dropping subframe. And removing end cover.
Let's hope you could answer a question I have , when you installed the 1-2-3-4 piston and you put the bellville spring on , then the retaining ring, did you put the tabs on the bellville up or down, I can't really tell by your video?
Just got a 2012 acadia
It shifts fine once you get going, just when you first put it in drive it takes a little moment to engage
And when it gets to 60mph at below 2k rpm the speedo needle bounces a little up and down and it feels like a gear engaging and disangaging if that makes sense.
Could it be the torque converter
Thanks for your video. At 130 it’s hard to tell what way you lay the spring in, are the ears out towards you. Thank you very much for the video
Is torque converter lock up solenoid in the valve body?
Problem . Thinking of just getting a torque converter for the first one. Any problem with that?
woah, i literally make 4 of the parts in that transmission for my job
Where can I buy this rebuild kit I have a 2008 gmc awd Acadia
How much PSI are you applying for the air test, I don't want to damage the seals by over pressuring.
Can i put the 6t70 on a 2wheel drive ?
Hi. I have issue with my impala limited 2016 it is about 65k. Once I shift to D, car doesn't move with RPM. Or move but very shortly. shift to R and ok. I was in mountains when it start fail to move. But I manage to drive back home on manual mode , 3 gear. Problem is that I am in italy an here no one knows what to do. Please advice, what can be the root cost of this failure. It is ex PPV from Police
I didn't see you install output seal. On the right side how far down does the seal drive in? Does it bottom out when it's installed? Do you use any rtv or grease before installing on the outside edge?
This transmission didn’t get that seal since it’s all wheel drive but it doesn’t bottom out. I usually drive it down like 1/4 inch from the edge of the trans.

Is there a vent on this transmission? For front wheel drive 6t70.
Great video! Question though, if everything is in place correctly, why would the cover plate not seat fully against the transmission? All the thrust bearings, gears and clutch plates are correct, but the cover sits maybe 1/4" high...
Any idea?
Definitely sounds like something isn’t seated right. As for what it is there are a lot of options. I would def go thru it slowly and make sure everything lines up. It can feel “good” but not be right. If that makes sense
@DMoneyGarage it makes sense. I've been through it about 7 times and just can't figure it out. Time to find a transmission shop and have then swap in a reman.
First thing great videos, Part 1 and 2 were what I needed to tackle the job. I have a Buick Enclave and have worked on my vehicles to make them last a while. I am mechanically inclined but when it comes to transmissions well I can remove them and install them. But tear them down, I was always skittish about all the parts involved. Now I am faced with the challenge of either purchase a refurbished or buy the rebuild kit for it. My vehicle is performing now with a shudder at 3 gear going into the overdrive. This happens at around 35-40 mph. I have heard that it could be the torque converter and others have said wave plates. Would you advise to rebuild it or just swap it with another. I know money wise its cheaper to get a kit along with a new torque converter but I was trying to weigh my options. is it worth the time and money? What is your advise and what are the common factors to my symptoms. Any help will help me. Thanks Gabe
You got the exact same problem I have with my 2016 Enclave... So instead of asking what you've already asked, I'll just check back in for a response... I'm looking at just replacing my entire trans with a corrected remanufactured one from a company that specializes in these exact GM transmissions... They run about $2300 with the core...
I also get the shudder, it's occurring from 1400-2000 rpm in 3rd gear, and I can hear that mechanical "percussion" noise that sounds like an old-school metal percussion fire alarm bell. I'd rather rebuild if I can! 2016 Chevy Traverse.
you are using the wrong 1234 piston for the gen 2
You didn't mention replacing bushings. I guess just inspect them if their bad replace them??
Yea. Sorry. This was a core I slammed together for a video before scrapping. Lol
@@DMoneyGarage Oh ok Cool!!!
Where do you get those disgrams
Those are gm documents. But alldata has them also.
Hey where are you located I need to bring my truck to you
Northeast Indiana
@@DMoneyGarageyoooooooo me too I got a 2012 chevy impala 6t75 I want to get a transmission rebuild/ shift kit upgrade installed is that something you could help me with? I'm mechanically inclined but haven't ever worked on a transmission.
