    Thanks for the great information tutorial video. You really help me out a lot. I have some bad pressure switches on this 6T75 Gen 1, 2012 Buick Enclave. I have a question. If
    just replace the pressure switches, do have to replace the solenoid filter plate if I don't touch it? Thanks again...

      You can reuse it as long as the silicone gasket is in good shape.

    Is the 6T75 trans in the 12 Traverse? What is the difference between the FWD & AWD versions?

    Very end of video explained importance of dropping in torque converter. Just curious is the seal that can get damaged inside the converter serviceable? When I separated my trans from engine the converter came away from shaft even though all 4 bolts were removed now I’m worried about the seal in the converter.

      Only serviceable when it is cut apart to rebuild the torque converter. At the seminars they stress the importance of it. I explained it to the techs out on the floor. They choose not to follow what I told them. They put them back with the unit sitting up like it goes in the vehicle. As of yet they have not cut a seal. But you do run the risk of it.

      @@CurmudgeonTransmission I found out that Sonnax sells that seal but figured it’s only for rebuilders. I drained as much fluid out of the converter possible then scoped it and I can’t see any tears or deformation of the seal so I’m just gonna run it. Thank you for taking time to respond!

    Please help! It’s long sorry!
    Hello! I own a 2016 GMC Acadia awd Denali 45k and the dealership changed parts here the notes list: Shift delayed, highway speeds and uphills, stop light 2-3 gears changed , tech scanned for DTC No codes. Tech open the trans and found clutch 4-5-6 burnt and debris in the trans. Tech inspected valve body and found sticking valves from built up debris. Tech replaced 4-5-6 clutches seals and valve body. Tech resembled trans, tested, vehicle is “okay”.
    My vehicle still continues to make a this weird kick and vibration while accelerating going straight road and more noticeable on uphill and letting go the gas pedel then pressing it again make this kick again as if the gears aren’t connected. The dealer going to check it hopefully this Monday with a different tech. Any thoughts , suggestions on ur experience knowledge dealing with these transmission like the one on this video. Thank you!! I am under powertrain warranty still btw

      Any codes? Did you do shift adaptations after the rebuild? Did you replace the 3-5-R cushion plate? If you did are you sure they gave you the Chevy one and not the Ford? They are different thicknesses.

    do you have to fill up the torque before install, becouse installing side down the fluid come out

    • @CurmudgeonTransmission

      No you don't. You do need to put the unit facing with the bellhousing straight up and install the torque converter as straight as you can though.

      The shell does not set down all the way on the steels. Have you tried putting the last drum in and putting the end cover on and seeing if it sets all the way down? If you can bolt the cover down and turn the input shaft after that everything is ok.

    I am experiencing what i think is torque converter shudder when warm/hot(when cold seems fine) during acceleration from a stop or when moving slow and trying to accelerate(feels like wheel hop/driving over railroad tracks). Where are you located?

    • @CurmudgeonTransmission
      @CurmudgeonTransmission  2 роки тому

      It could be. Engine misfires feel like that also. Since it is doing it from a stop also, it makes me want to lean towards an engine misfire. Only way to know for sure is to watch it on a scanner. Sorry, I don't give that info out. Get asked a lot.

      @@CurmudgeonTransmission definitely not engine misfire. No blinking CEL, No codes at all.

    • @CurmudgeonTransmission
      @CurmudgeonTransmission  2 роки тому

      The CEL and no codes does not mean much. I have seen plenty that had really bad misfires, that you would think it should be throwing a code, and there were not any. Same with the transmission. All the CEL is for is to give you a starting point, sometimes you don't get one.

      @@CurmudgeonTransmission TY. That makes it hard to figure out what is wrong. Am i wrong to think it is TC shudder if it is happening when it is likely in 1st or 2nd gear accelerating from a stop or rolling stop?

    • @CurmudgeonTransmission
      @CurmudgeonTransmission  2 роки тому

      No transmission has the converter clutch applied from a standstill. Some will apply shortly after takeoff in first. That is why I am leaning towards a misfire. If you can get access to a scanner you can watch it. Ford does not like giving misfire information it seems. A lot of times you need to find what they list as cylinder contribution test. Sometimes it will not show up there either if it is not real bad. But yours sounds like it is. Sometimes it can be hard to distinguish between a misfire and a converter shudder. If it is a misfire you want to fix it before it does cause your converter to fail. It will put a lot of stress on it.
