heres the thing. if I was locked in a water drain and my dad had to go through all these challenges, I'd understand why he couldnt crawl through broken glass and jump through electric fields
I'm curious, does the game keep track of his injuries? If you get through the Butterfly with minimum arm and no hitting the electrics, how does he look when Madison patches him up? Same for if you take maximum injury, how does it affect him, or does the game just assume you got burns regardless of if you tried the trial or not? Also another question, how does The Origami Killer react if Ethan turns up at the warehouse having failed all five trails? I know Madison can tell Ethan where to go, but how does Scott react if Ethan turns up having actually sacrificed nothing and ignored all of his little plans?
I messed up the electric challenge and failed that, Ethan had burns and cut arms when Madison came, but I did guess the location because I only failed one trial, Ethan says he completed the trials...? I don't know what happens if you fail all of them though
The game does keep track of Ethan’s injuries. The burns’ severity will differ depending on how much Ethan was shocked in the second trial, but the cut injuries are the same. If Ethan fails all the trials but is informed by Madison of the address, he has a dialogue with her where he thanks her for finding the address, but this is only if Norman is not present. Nothing else is different.
If you think about it, then failing the tests is not so bad, Ethan will not receive severe burns, will keep his finger and will not have a killed person on his conscience. And Shaun can be saved by Norman, Madison, or even Ethan if Madison calls him and tells him the address where Shaun is being held. Yes, and it seems to me that Ethan in the good endings (Innocent, A New Start, A New Life) will be much better off without burns, with a finger and without blood on his hands.

This is the biggest heavy rain fail. The developers said the player could die and the story would contine with the other main characters... that wasnt true, until the last 10 min...
The reason why Ethan and Scott can't die before the final chapter, is because they are the "TRUE" main characters of the game. Ethan is the *MAIN* main protagonist, while Scott is the main antagonist. As a result, if either of them died, the story would not make sense, and could not continue. Norman and Madison are protagonists, yes, but they're only a smaller part of Ethan and Scott's story.
Ethan can piece together the address if he completes 4 of 5 trials, or Madison can ring up Ethan if she survives and tell him where Shaun is, provided he isn't jailed.
I think killing the drug dealer would be easier than killing yourself (I kind of like living). The power plant one would probably come next. But I don't think I would have the guts to do the driving part and I wouldn't even think about cutting the finger off.
Scott has Jigsaw trials for Ethan so I don't blame him for backing out. It is sadistic tendencies "to prove" his love for his son. I would have been mad as hell too. Having a mass child murderer having me do immoral things just to get closer to an address by having more letters in hangman. Most effed up killer ever. Scott is also a delusional hypocrite he says things that makes no sense just to avoid blame, regret, detection, guilt and responsibility. The ending where he gets away with all of his crimes is seriously anticlimactic. Reminds me of Todd from Detroit.
The game is too good that is bad to play it more than once. When you know the name of the origami killer you don't care what different path you'll take cause the outcome is the same whatsoever.
Yes if madison knows the location she can call ethan or jayden and jayden can find it easy peasy so my playthrough i only failed one but still got the location
i've tried and they cant until the end of the game ethan will kill himself if shawn dies and shelby can die only at the factory or by lauren if you save her from the sinking car. all of which happens at the end
they're actually like thinga that reduce pain after having something amputated like a finger. but for some dumb fucking reason, he used it BEFORE cutting off his finger which is.. really stupid
I could never make Ethan fail the trials, even if Jayden and Madinson can still save Shaun. What kind of monster doesn't put his own life on the lign for his son ?
*heavy rain beyond two souls and detroit become human spoilers* I get why scott gets plot armor, it would suck of course if you were playing your first time and wanted him to die of course but i get it ethan on the other hand i don't totally get like yes, in beyond two souls somehow (cause i don't now sorry) trudges along even if you suck ass at the game, and connor makes sense why he gets plot armor because you play as a different connor, but ethan doesn't make sense other then we can't have everyone but the killer die but i think the quote the one about game over is a designers failure or whatever he says applies here cause he forces you to play as ethan even if you don't want you could argue he failed as a designer and he's a hypocrite, which is why I propose a remkae for the game i mean if last of us part 1 can and heavy rain is older i think it can even if it gets ported there's so much to add that it just makes sense plus it could fill plot holes and dumb things like ethans total plot armor even if playing only scott shelby would be torture just let him die then have endings where they can easily save shawn there's no issue in that the case of the origami killer just goes unsolved and anyone with a good enough brain or knowledge already will relize it was scott, also they could add in the heavy rain chronicles there is just so much better stuff to be added it's not even funny that a remake would be amazing
on one of my endings if maddy failed to recuse shaun i got the good ending ethan shot himself on a chair maddy was dead the FBI guy killed himself with that drug think he was sat on a cliff talking to his another one of him then he died in a room lauran killed scott shelby so basicly all of them would die dahell :S :S :S
So, all I beat was the bear trial.. Now Shaun is probably gonna die.. I just finished the trial where you kill or spare the drug dealer and I'm not killing Ethan.
Alright, well if you didn't solve at least three of them, you cannot find Shaun... *SPOILERS BELOW* The poison is fake, and you can call Ethan or Norman as Madison, if you found the address as her.
You either need to complete three out of five trials and do a guessing game or Madison needs to survive the explosion at the Origami Killer's hideout and share the information with Ethan. So yeah, you can fail all the trial and still save Shaun, providing you didn't fucked it up with Madison's chapters

Ethan can piece together the address if he completes 4 of 5 trials, or Madison can ring up Ethan if she survives and tell him where Shaun is, provided he isn't jailed.
18:16 this is probably the easiest trial out of all of them
xXPoison_HurtsXx if I thought that was the only way to save my son then I'd rather do this than the other trials.
I think killing the drug dealer would be easier than killing yourself (I kind of like living). The power plant one would probably come next. But I don't think I would have the guts to do the driving part and I wouldn't even think about cutting the finger off.
Mike Person can't have a moral dilemma about your son's life vs yours when you don't have a child
Mike Person Its just a mind game, if you were the parent, how would you know,
SPOILER ALERT!!2
ITS A FAKE.
@@yarpen26 you would rather crawl through pipes full of glass and go through a bunch of electricity than to cut off one finger?
Are you going through on a quite high if it's wrong or what's on Mars is driving the car so you can
What is the scene like when he tries to find the Warehouse and doesn't have any letters?
so if u fail all the out comes then shaun dies? so you get a negative ending. is there any way shaun lives if you fail all tests?
Nina ifallintofantasy Elliget yes Madison and Norman can still save him
Aw...I was hoping he'd cut off his finger right after you ran out of time :P
Scott has Jigsaw trials for Ethan so I don't blame him for backing out. It is sadistic tendencies "to prove" his love for his son. I would have been mad as hell too. Having a mass child murderer having me do immoral things just to get closer to an address by having more letters in hangman. Most effed up killer ever. Scott is also a delusional hypocrite he says things that makes no sense just to avoid blame, regret, detection, guilt and responsibility. The ending where he gets away with all of his crimes is seriously anticlimactic. Reminds me of Todd from Detroit.
Lul I laughed so hard watching Ethan intentionally fail everything
The game is too good that is bad to play it more than once. When you know the name of the origami killer you don't care what different path you'll take cause the outcome is the same whatsoever.
You can also refuse to drive at all in the begining
You can't.
I have tried, and you still drive anyway no matter what you choose
the butterfly 1 how dose he faint
+Aiden Campbell Blood loss from his arms being sliced up by the broken glass. You have to proceed through it slowly to avoid getting sliced to pieces.
+vc180191 thanks
And electrocution. :P
Actually you can fail the rat one because one time Instead of going to shaun location I got a restaurant so I played as mad
Shout out to manynukes11
If you don't get the letters, Madison goes to find the address on Shelby's computer. I heard that happens if you fail more than 1 trial
I... just... can't... watch... too... sad....
I came here to see what happen after the last trial when you fail all of them... (?)
just curious, is it possible to fail the trails and some how save Shaun
Yes if madison knows the location she can call ethan or jayden and jayden can find it easy peasy so my playthrough i only failed one but still got the location
i've tried and they cant until the end of the game ethan will kill himself if shawn dies and shelby can die only at the factory or by lauren if you save her from the sinking car. all of which happens at the end
13:11 to 13:35 are those supposed to reduce the pain or something?
they're actually like thinga that reduce pain after having something amputated like a finger. but for some dumb fucking reason, he used it BEFORE cutting off his finger which is.. really stupid
Is it possible to have an ending where all four main characters survive?
Nope
Unless Shaun is a character in your eyes
what happens if you refuse all the trials?
Ethan fails to find Shaun.
will there be a special scene showing ethan being depressed, not beating a single trial?
I failed almost all trials but I saved Shaun as Norman.
Alcohol numbs pain
I could never make Ethan fail the trials, even if Jayden and Madinson can still save Shaun. What kind of monster doesn't put his own life on the lign for his son ?
*heavy rain beyond two souls and detroit become human spoilers* I get why scott gets plot armor, it would suck of course if you were playing your first time and wanted him to die of course but i get it ethan on the other hand i don't totally get like yes, in beyond two souls somehow (cause i don't now sorry) trudges along even if you suck ass at the game, and connor makes sense why he gets plot armor because you play as a different connor, but ethan doesn't make sense other then we can't have everyone but the killer die but i think the quote the one about game over is a designers failure or whatever he says applies here cause he forces you to play as ethan even if you don't want you could argue he failed as a designer and he's a hypocrite, which is why I propose a remkae for the game i mean if last of us part 1 can and heavy rain is older i think it can even if it gets ported there's so much to add that it just makes sense plus it could fill plot holes and dumb things like ethans total plot armor even if playing only scott shelby would be torture just let him die then have endings where they can easily save shawn there's no issue in that the case of the origami killer just goes unsolved and anyone with a good enough brain or knowledge already will relize it was scott, also they could add in the heavy rain chronicles there is just so much better stuff to be added it's not even funny that a remake would be amazing
so what happens, after you fail all the trials? do you just give up?
If you fail all trials, Ethan won't be able to find Shaun, but if Madison finds the address, she can call him and he'll come anyway.
"Brass! Broken glass!"
on one of my endings if maddy failed to recuse shaun i got the good ending ethan shot himself on a chair maddy was dead the FBI guy killed himself with that drug think he was sat on a cliff talking to his another one of him then he died in a room lauran killed scott shelby so basicly all of them would die dahell :S :S :S
Mr BigMan that's the worst ending
Huh, doesn't sound like the good ending to me
Uh Bullshit, if thats so what is the achievement called "4 Heroes" then?
well apperently if you only get some of the letters you`ll end up at the wrong address
You have no idea of how many times I've failed the bear because of my shitty GAME® controller.
If you ever think about buying one, DON'T. They're bad.
So, all I beat was the bear trial.. Now Shaun is probably gonna die.. I just finished the trial where you kill or spare the drug dealer and I'm not killing Ethan.
Alright, well if you didn't solve at least three of them, you cannot find Shaun...
*SPOILERS BELOW*
The poison is fake, and you can call Ethan or Norman as Madison, if you found the address as her.
Can you save u son If you fail the Bear? And If i don't Shoot the Drug Dealer?
You either need to complete three out of five trials and do a guessing game or Madison needs to survive the explosion at the Origami Killer's hideout and share the information with Ethan. So yeah, you can fail all the trial and still save Shaun, providing you didn't fucked it up with Madison's chapters
@@lasrohapanjaitan29144 years late but if Jayden is alive and he finds where the killer is holding Shawn. He can rescue Shawn.
When you kill the guy with shotgun, nothing happened. No consequences for murdering father of two little girl. Its very disappointing... My game have good ending. Ethan and Madison live together with Shaun. Murder was forgotten. No court, no prison. Absolutly nothing...
You can cut off his finger with scissors ✂️ and a saw
Axe is a better choice
Shaun* That's ok, i just really hate it when people spell the names wrong all the time. Like in The walking dead game everyone says Carly but it's Carley -.- :D
I have the Lizard trial -.-
This is so sad.
Just fucking use your leather jacket and push the glass out of the damn way
Someone should make a compilation of situations of were Ethan could have died, but didn't. Or at least should have.
Because Ethan is the "TRUE" main character of Heavy Rain alongside Scott, so the story could not have progressed without him.
@@jinthekingkazama1159 I guess that's true.
@@darthvidar-spiller5343 Yeah.
This is sad actually.
actually, only 3 (no spoilers)
18:45 fuck it
If you fail the butterfly trial, can you still get the best ending. :l
Yes because Maddison can call Ethan after escaping shelbys house and can call Ethan also she or Jayden can get Shaun themselves and Ethan can get the best ending still
try refusing to do them all
