As I remember it at swedish school
1-3 grade one get treathed like a small kid, only basics skills like reading, spelling basic matematics and so on!
4-6 grade, one get treathed as a teenager, and learn some basic coocking skills and basic house cleaning skills!
Its cald "hemkunskap", translated to "home knowledege"! There was altso some wood work ans sewing, teaching!
7-9 grades it shifted more towards social skills, like dance, and then altso sexuality.. becuse one get more sexual emotions in this ages.. better tell us at school by adults that alredy have kids/family! One need to know how to change a diaper!
Lunch at swedish schools supose to give 1/3 of the calories and nutrients 5 days a week, its often swedish or international food!
University is free, most people do take the study loan though since if they study 100% and is a part of student life it's hard to get a part time job that pays enough to live off, especially since we still purchase all our litterature. I think university is a lot of fun because the system is a by students for students kind of thing.
It is easy for English speaking teachers to get a job in private (or for profit) schools since these schools don't have to pay them the same salary as they would have to pay for certified teachers from Sweden. And they do want to make a profit on the money they get from our taxes. They also market their schools to children from academic homes etc. so they won't need to provide as much support. It is draining the entire school system and has made Sweden drop enormously in rankings like PISA et all.
One in five Swedish teachers quit working as a teacher within a couple of years of getting their certification despite a long university education. Basically because it is a very stressful profession and you want to do more than you are able to while there is soo much pressure from parents plus a lot of administrative work.
I have mix feeling... this sound a whole lot like Canada.
The Swedish school system has been on a downward spiral since the 80'ies due to different governments having different ideas about budgets leading to among other things fewer teachers with bigger classes, less money for schools etc. which has led to an overall lower quality school system. The privatisation boom that started in the early 90'ies led to even worse outcomes.

The grading system in Sweden has changed many times over the last couple of decades. It seems that when a new government come in they want to show that they care about school (which is generally left to the smallest coalition party as a token minister position) and put their own "stamp" on education. School is a much lower priority in Swedish politics compared to a couple of decades ago.
The Tax in sweden is about 30% if you earn less then 50.000 usd (520000 skr) after that you start to pay state tax on the salary over the 520000 skr
and it is more % if you have higher salary.
And with jobbskatteavdrag, the tax is realy about 25%
(Sweden) I was bullied from grade 1 to 9. Teachers didn't care.
I studied one year in High School in USA, and it was quite similar to the Swedish equvalent, a bit easier and a small difference in how grades are determined, but the results were pretty much the same. (I can understand that it could be confusing for teachers though).
Up to grade 6 I think, all of us were in the same room, but it was mostly the same teacher teaching different subjects (except for things like Woodworking and PE), but after that the students moved to the Teachers classroom.
Yes, College/Uni is not only free, we get paid for it.
Tax is around 30% for most people, I'm not sure where the bracket is for when it gets higher, but it's a bit of a complex subject.
School lunches were free up to 12th-13th grade, albeit the quality went down a bit in the 70ies when (most) Schools stopped cooking locally and meals became cooked at a central location and delivered and reheated.
Speaking of School in the 70ies and 80ies, things may have (and probably has) changed a bit
Tax is even lower than 30% for most of us because of the jobskatteavdrag.
Before fixing school subjects and all, everyone should fix the bullying issue in school. It has destroyed so many life.

@@MaxSujyNorden everything in Sweden is expensive, we are used to it. 😁
Half of my dogs are hunting dogs so we get a lot of meat from the hunting (elk, roe deer and wild boar).
So what do u have against the USA?
I live in Sweden and I have a yearly cost of living of $3500 USD including everything. I rebuilt my sailing yacht to a live-aboard bugout survival pod that can stay out at sea self-sufficient for up to 10 years if needed. I have that kind of money saved up for many lifetimes, so I retired at 40 to do what I love, fish and sail for the rest of my life. Never found anyone to marry so now I can afford to live like this, women cost too much.
