Hello! We are Max from Canada, and Sujy from Thailand. We met in Thailand in late 2015 while I was a tourist visiting the country. We are now married and have 12 children (well, dogs, but still...). We live in Thailand countryside. I have not step foot in Canada ever since. I left everything behind for love! :) p.s: Well ofc I still talk to my family, it's not as dramatic as it seems!
I did some research while editing the video. It seems like the higher ups were not thrill with the Christmas Truce. They even relocated the soldiers to differents area to make sure they would treat the other side as "non-humans". This expose something which I've known for a long time and mention briefly during the video: Patriotism is used as a tool to endoctrinate soldiers into a narrow mindset but deep down most of them have their humanity preserved. This is partially why so many soldiers come back home with PTSD, they have empathy, they just learn to unconsciously mask (as Sigmund Freud would say) their humanity briefly for a "greatest cause". As an example, during WW2, The Japanese Kamikaze were 16 to 22 ish year old, and only had enough fuel for one-way. Measures were in place so that even if the endocrination had failed, they would have no choice but to succeed in their mission. We even see this in Ukraine right now. A lot of Russian soldiers have give up since the beginning of the invasion. They are hiding and don't want to do the dirty work. We see this with the youth in Israel where military services is required. A lot of young Israelis don't want to enroll right now. As I said in the video, wars are fought by the youth, or/and poor people. There would be no wars if people with money were forced to become soldiers. I grow up during the 90s, and I can't remember a climate as tense as the world we live in right now. Yes, 9/11 happens, but from memories, everything is just so much worse right now. What do you think?
WWI was the death blow for the British aristocracy as so many young upper class men died: they were junior officers and were expected to lead on the battlefield. The top officers and the top politicians were not nearly so close and never have been. (Honourable exception to the King of Belgium, who did serve on the front line in WWI, an event mentioned in Sabaton's song Race To The Sea.) Nowadays, especially in America, China and Russia, the wealthy are the powerful, and wouldn't be at risk.
Awesome reaction. Maybe next song by Sabaton would be "En livstid i krig" ( a lifetime of war) live from Gothenburg with subtitle on, they are singing in Swedish. I have heard/watched that Song many times and it give me shivers and goosebumps every time. And i admit that the first time i heard this song i shared tears because of the meaning of the song. The Song is about the swedish soldiers in the 30years war in Europe. For many soldiers/people it was a "lifetime of war" I wish you both a nice Christmas and a happy new year.🎉
This is the heart of Sabaton; they tell tales of war, emphasizing heroism, sacrifice, honor, and humanity that can be found in the chaos of war. They never take sides, just accurately document the history of the event. If interested, the Sabaton History Channel goes into the back story of the song, hosted by historian and documentarian Indy Neidell. Sabaton used a professional movie crew to film "Christmas Truce" and they have a video with behind the scenes information of making it. Happy Christmas and New Year.
🕯️🎼Christmas Truce is one of my favorite songs. I’m speechless, such an amazing song and video, so deep, beautiful, emotional and powerful. I truly felt the emotion from this song and I definitely shed a few tears. ❄️🖤🌟🎄No words needed,Sabaton is brilliant! 💯🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
Sabaton has songs about wars and heroes from almost all over the world....Even Canada ;-) So if you want to hear a Sabaton song about a Canadian soldier You can look for the Sabaton song: "A Ghost In The Trenches"
Great reaction to my favourite band!!🤘 I would really appreciate more reactions to them. I'd suggest "The last stand" (official music video), "Bismarck" (official music video), "Steel commanders" (official music video) and"Uprising" (official music video). For live performances I recommend "En livstid i krig" (live from Gothenburg, 2020. It's in Swedish, so captions on), "Ghost division" (live from Poland, 2012. This was before Tommy and Hannes joined the band) and "Uprising" (live from Poland, 2012).
Funny thing you mentioned Saving Private Ryan. You can actually see segments from that movie in Sabatons first ever made music video from 2005. Up next, Bismarck with another great song and music video👍
Was about to say that it's wierd that no one has wrote that Hannes is married to Floor because that's allways the case 😂 Nothing wrong with that but it felt strange if i had to be the person to put it out there 😄 Anyway, i'm a subscriber since a couple of months and like you as reactors and persons 😊 would like to suggest that ju react to Nightwish - Sleeping sun (Official video). The video where Tarja is in a red dress laying down. It's my nr. 2 Nightwish song out of my top 20 Nightwish songs. The reason why i didn't choose my nr. 1 (Devil and the deep dark ocean) is because i felt that because you're more into classical/opera, you would appreciate my nr. 2 moore than my nr. 1 🙏
hi there... react to sabaton 1916 and then you really have to check nightwish... it really is worth it trust me =) thanks for this reaction and have a great holiday!
I would recommend Sabaton's cover of Motorhead's 1916 The animated story videos for No Bullets Fly, The Lady Of The Dark, and Night Witches also Sabotan has its own history UA-cam channel titled Sabaton History which goes into detail around the events of the song 🖤💀🦇💣⚡️🤘

Propaganda makes people view others as less than human so it's easier to pull the trigger. Sadly people still fall for it and always will.
