I owned a 92 Dodge / Cummins in the mid 90’s...I remember showing up to work with it and when an old timer mechanic looked under the hood he said “the body will rot away long before that motor wears out”...happened just like he said!
I have also had the same yard brush for 30 years......I have only changed the bristle part 9 times and the handle 7 times Lol. :)
Just like my family's heirloom axe. Its only had three new heads and two new handles!
I am totally amazed by how "easy" you make all of this look! Thanks for another great session, Brent! Pablo: Good Dog! Be safe!
I like this adventure... the two frames so close together so mounts might go even easier than hoped for. Short and sweet little project
i wish you had a discography, the music you play is so good. i would like to know each tune of each video. i like square body chevys, had one in 74, turned to iron oxide by 87 rusted out by 02, o2 rusted out by 13, youd think id learn. ha. love your informational videos. you are an amazing artist , you make everything look so easy, but it aint.
Shazam is your friend :)
Very cool. I love this channel because of the sped up video. Hours of work can be watched in minutes. Fun to watch.
I know I am going to enjoy this build as all the others. Couldn’t pull myself away until it ended. Good job Brent. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Vintage Air has a much smaller evaporator/heater - it moves all the parts on the inside of the cab, and uses a plate to cover up the hole left by the stuff in the engine bay. If the guy doesn't care about A/C, you can use the parts from a heat-only truck which has a considerably smaller footprint in the engine bay and weld up the extra holes.
Ol Pablo goes no place in a hurry lol. Gotta hand it to you Brent you have a real knack for keeping interest going on the projects. Love it!! Keep em coming, and Thanks!
You son is lucky to have such a knowledgeable father and great work shop. I love the General.
I’m so impressed by your project I like that I’m learning
That was a load of work just to do an engine swap but you killed it, nice work Brent
Between Brent and Dan over at DD Speed Shop nobody else needs to work in Manitoba! You guys get it all done! Good job! Love all ur videos.
It's going to be a good build, love the idea 👌. Have a good weekend
I remember when I had my square body I caught alot of looks and alot of thumbs up.
I love how you casually take on what I'd call nigh on impossible jobs.
yeah, it just took me the last year to take the bed off my truck, restore the frame and suspension while dropping it 8". that's a couple hours for him ;)
that should be an easy swap after doing the general it already has a 4 door cab you won't have to build your own
Nah he probably has plans to 6x6 it or 6 door lmao
Glad to see the son interested in an old truck, my grandson just bought a 1986 GMC that has only 17 thousand orgional miles and had been in indoor dry storage since 2008. He is 21 yrs old and calls it the old square body . To me it is almost new, to him this is a really an old truck. Keep young kids interested in this old hobby. Brent you make it look to easy which, I know this is a ton of work. A+++++ videos
Square body truck have their place in my "Want it" list. The colour is great . Cheers
This looks like a cool project build Brent, you have much talent :)!
Cool Project, it's going to be fun watching! 👍🏻
Great content !! Looking forward to the swap !! Thank you for sharing !!! Be safe and God bless you all !!!!! Eddy
I help to do a Cummins swap. In a crew cab dually 4×4 the only thing we done was changed out the engine crossmember , transmission adapter plate and made the flexplate work.
I dig your channel. Pretty excited to see this build.
Great job. Some fun and interesting fabricating.
Great video glad you posted.
I just love the work u do wish i had the talent to do that kinda of stuff u do
Your yard may be a graveyard for Dodge truck sheet metal, but the rest of the truck lives on to bigger and better things! Go Brent!
i also have seen some exhaust manifolds that move the turbo forward which might miss the heater
Looks like a easy job for you. You really make it look easy. I would take a long time. But I have never tried anything like this.👍
You make it look so easy 👌 from 🇬🇧
Yay it's going to be another great Build to watch
I sure love your channel great job always enjoy your videos
Loving these truck builds and would really love to see a gasser build soon to
This is exactly the kind of project I want to do some day!
You have coolest most laid-back dog. I've never had a dog, and I know I am missing out.
keep the great work man just got done with 1934 Ford 2 door sedan now I'm working 1934 dodge pickup with ls1 in it and put a b model mack cab on a army truck
Great start, it was a pretty clean truck
Said it before happy to say it again your a very talented man great to watch mate thanks learning heaps 👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
Its going to be another great build buddy 👍👍
Gonna be another great build
That squarebody is in very good shape. Around here (southern Ontario) there would be nothing left of it. Love the project.
yeah most of them are the same here.
Cool new project for me to watch.
I love his accent! Sometimes he sounds Scottish. A hug from Mexico!
What are you talking a boot?
Pretty ambitious. Look forward to watching.
Hey Brent, have you ever considered doing a recap on ALL the vehicles you have put together over the years? Must be cool for your son to have a Dad like you!! Be safe..God Bless!!
that's gonna make a nice truck.. it is already.. I love the grille on those 82s.. I have a Canadian s cottsdale c10 myself. built in Oshawa . still going.. can't wait to see how it ends up.. great channel..
I think you mean Oshawa. They don’t build things in Ottawa , they just burn money there.
@@albertapeet sorry yes. oshawa.. dang spell check
Take the cross member off the square body frame and flip it upside down on top of the Dodge frame for the rear body mount. I've done that in the past, works pretty good..
You can flip the exhaust manifold upside down and then mount the turbo higher on the engine, if you have the underhood space for it - it should move the turbo away from the evaporator case and may make the exhaust routing a little easier. He also needs to replace the governor springs on the P-pump with 4K springs if he is going to play with the fuel plate.
AWESOME GUYS love that truck!♡♡
You got to love those dodges nothing but the best. 👍👍😀
Looks like a good project 👌
Hmm it's going to be interesting to see how it goes. I seen on trucks tv year's ago they did a ford four door truck like you with the Chevy. It was a cool truck when they finish it.
Awesome video and music 🎶
Some guy: So Brent a guy can say you've been pretty busy lately?
Brent: Yup.....,I've been busier than a Rooster in a two story hen house.
This channel is all that and a cheeseburger too! Thanks bro!! Great vids and content!! I'm glad I hit the bell!
I'm sure many will agree, we would love to see The General entered in the online 2021 International Car Show hosted by DeBosse Garage. The 49 Pontiac would also be a perfect candidate for one of the classes.
I love square body trucks I had a 87 that I kick myself for selling after having it new from the dealer to about 23 years. Thanks for the video
Excellent video Halfass Kustoms :) best bet on turbo fit is take wheel wall near right fender out on and reinstall after cab also front clip is in permanent location okay if can do it possible! Also 1983 GM H frame be stronger then Cummings Dodge has too !
This is going to make a great looking truck 👍👍🇨🇱
The old square body’s are getting more popular. 😎👍🇨🇦
Great project 👍
Woot! New build!
Spring Ahead Folks 1 hour Always a Great watch Brent thanks ! They used to call them a 2+2 I could be wrong though ?
Lol Brent you said unthaud. That means it went back to being snowed on. Your funny man.
The pups know what "want to go for a ride"? means !!
Mine too.
I love your projects.wish I could be there to help.i always wanted to build a cab sub frame from the radiator support to the back of the cab and put air ride on the back of the cab like a big truck.i know a truck sub doesn't go to the radiator support but if you go that far the fenders can stay on cab.
Thanks that was cool enjoyed very much
Ohellyeah. My favorite type of truck. Square body.
Puppy is golden and wants a ride dad 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 Windsor Ontario area love to see the work
You can get different exhaust manifolds to move the turbo position to clear the AC box
I have an 84 1 ton dually k30 crew cab. Love it. We put buckets and console out of a Suburban in it. Has the 6.w diesel. That runs great but under powered. So an engine swap is in it's future one day.
Mike Finnegan of Roadkill did a similar Cummins in a Squarebody swap. If I remember correctly, he had to replace the inset on his firewall to accommodate the Cummins, and I think he was able to use a vendor-produced panel instead of fabbing his own. Check his build, might save you some time and headaches!
Interesting mix but understand why you want the Cummins. Bigger gears in the General will be good.
Great job great project
Two door out of a four door. On Boosted Boiz they make a new manifold they are good at it. All you need is a metal saw that cuts angles put that turbo where it has to be for this build
Brent, I agree with others on here in regards to "The General". You can probably do this one in your sleep...
That's great your doing a square body should be a great truck when your done
Wow your doing it i knew it . RIGHT ON.
One I certainly want to see
Let the chop swap begin yay👍😂
Carona and I love the new project? It was our Saturday night movie! The marriage of a GM squarebody to a mopar chassis does sadden me . But at least you saved a squarebody Chevrolet!.
The Exhaust manifold you can look to ebay for a rear side turbo mount
They came on the school buses and Ford F 750 so there are options
i wish i could find a crew cab like that!
down south these trucks are 6k for baskets and sone guys have the same amount tied up in a squarebody as in a 2021 chev trailboss
That is cool doing other project of truck and keep a good work
You’re a busy man 👍
You could flip the exhaust manifold. That would bring the turbo up. Might change thing for the better?
I lke the video and the knee slapping music LOL
Buddy I see you got a clone going on here.... So far so good... After doing the" General" this will be a piece of cake....Smile I'm watching you..
YOU DO AWESOME WORK NEAT RIDE WHEN DONE
Fantastic General2
did you consider flipping the exhaust manifold over? it raises the turbo height. dont know if you can set the engine low enough in the frame to clear the hood. i think a common rail 5.9 exhaust moves the turbo farther forward.
yeah, in the end it actually fits pretty good. but and option is that or put a second 24v manifold on also and moves the turbo ahead.
I really want that truck.
Interested in how you moved the powetrain back. Would flipping the exhaust manifold over & adding a compound turbo kit allow the heater & AC to remain?
Brent You Make Me laugh. Most Humans When Taking On A Project Like This Would Say, F_ _ K, S_ _ T, How Am I Going To Do This? But You Say, "No Biggie, I Will Make Something, I Will Make It Fit." 😂
👍 From Cadillac Michigan
thanks
Pablo says "This is a weird one for sure!"
If you flip flop the manifold and set the turbo lower in the truck it might give more clearance for the heater box
love this
Why do you ask us that subscribe to your channel what we’d like to see . Hell, we think your work is so cool we’d watch you mow grass👍😁🤣
g'day mate "I LIKE IT " 👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
