1948 GMC Frame Swap. Putting a modern body on a classic chassis.

  • Today we are going to be swapping out the severely rusted 1948 GMC pickup cab with the 1953 Chevy truck cab that we have been repairing in the last several episodes. As far as I know this is the first video on UA-cam of someone swapping a modern body onto an older chassis. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a bold new trend.

Chopping the old cab is better therapy than any anger management class. You obviously know these trucks inside and out and bringing them back is great. I often do the same thing over and over again in my work but if you do it well it’s worth it . But, every once in a while you need to create something. If you can do that while being destructive at the same time that’s a win: Very fulfilling

I've never considered a window swap before. It's kind of: you cut out a hole and fit a slightly smaller hole in its place. I see what needs to be there for the glass to fit, but my brain won't quite accept it.
Enjoying the project. Especially the big dents being panel beaten out. Very satisfying to watch.

Personally, I believe the people that are asking why you do what you do and the way you do things don't just start their own UA-cam channel and do everything their own way. Then again, I guess it's a lot easier getting down on someone else for doing something they can't do or won't do or choose not to do. It's a good thing that it takes all kinds to make a world. I guess that's what makes life worth living. You just keep doing you Kyle. You're appreciated by many people that have subscribed to your Channel or they probably wouldn't have subscribed. Just one man's opinion. I appreciate what you share and the way you share it. So just continue sharing.
