I can see being ambidextrous comes in handy when using spray cans. When one hand gets tired, switch to the other one. Really liking the way it's coming together.
The big problem with rattle cans is that the finish can look decent, but you don't have enough paint to truly seal the metal so it rust under the paint. My rule of thumb for sandblasted wheels was one entire rattle can per steel rim. My father thought that was way too much. He sandblasted a set of steel rims for his Subaru and only used one can of paint for all four rims. A couple of years later the rims were uniformly rusted. This was 1990s Michigan winters. I never had rust problems with my overpainted rims.
Seeing the ol' girl roll out of the garage looked like an army truck rolling out of the motor pool and on It's way up the AlCan Highway! Always a pleasure to watch Brent, I appreciate how you preserve forgotten relics (vehicles and tools) that would have been scrapped and made into next year's foreign econobox and will work better than anything new for decades to come!
At the end, the proof that a dog is truly a man's best friend. And, I love how Pablo waits at the door for Brent to open it when throughout the day Pablo exits without any help. Great videos. I don't know what the next project will be, but I know I will not miss it. Thanks for sharing.
plz paint the bumpers oxide red it would set it right off great build cant believe the transformation from what you started with keep up the great videos brother and shout out from South Australia
Great to see your progress on the General. The energy you portray in your videos is something I admire, learn from, and enjoy; especially your music choices. I wish you well and please keep up the great work, thank you! Happy trails.
Ever tried a spray paint can trigger they are fantastic, don't have to go through not feeling your finger tip for a week, i still think 5 clearance lights would look good, truck is looking great, i get motivated watching the videos
Built a mud racing truck 79 chevy made my own pattern and camouflaged it, didn't care what anyone thought of it as long as I liked , rattle canned it and clear coated it became a hit everyone loved it , General Looks great to me digging the color .
Years ago I made a trailer from a pickup truck. My buddy had a new spray outfit and wanted to paint it. I had a quart or so of blue paint, and he had a quart or so of orange. We mixed them together not knowing what we'd get, and it turned out shiny OD green. The General is such a cool truck.
Going to be hard to build something more impressive than this one. I think this one of a kind builds are the best, there won't be another one in the parking lot. EPIC !
This paint job reminds me of a swb Landrover ie camo green. He went one step further by frosting in native plant fronds. It worked, but you had to see it to believe it.That grille and slats need to be polished as a break from the green even if it is pock marked pot metal.Coming along nicely as a double cab,but when ever you stop will be twenty questions from fans of that work.
Really like the work you do, the truck is cool. As a car builder myself I can really appreciate the effort you put in to preserving these old relics . But you are forgetting one very important thing, you need to preserve yourself. Everything thing we work with as car builders is trying to kill us. Sand blasting, old paint that probably contains lead, bondo dust, spray paint, your body can only take so much. please wear a mask.
Ok..here I go again 😆 love the look and very practical. I REALLY dig the red front bumper and you should pinstripe a nice red line on each hood louver 👍. Also, yes to dropping the driver mirror extension (and add an led marker
Looking great Still watching and commenting as we go Thanks for sharing Brent That was a lot of work And worth every moment The General is digging it>Kool
You know what you want i think it is looking very good it is a piece of art i am amazed of how it has turned out so far that will be fun for a long time.
I was rooting to leave it unpainted, but my mind is changed, I really like how it's coming out. Great build, hard to believe that's on a standard D250 or whatever that chassis is. Looks so big.
I'm glad you're taking the time to do a pretty good job on the body work you spent so much time with everything else worth putting in the time and effort on body work in my opinion and decent paint so many guys quit at that point doing a great job I love your videos keep them coming thanks
I am absolutely loving this truck, enjoy every video you put out. I don’t know if I’ll ever build another but the things I’ve learned from you will certainly come in handy if I do
Nice truck. What a lot of work. Nicely done. Remove the mirrors and paint them rattle can silver, then do the radiator cover at the same time. Keep up the good work! !!!!
Its looking good ! I know a Guy did his 67 chevy be cans and you never know it ! Once he had it buffed out look good ,great Video keep them coming and I watch them
I see it coming to a close and wish it was just starting.... I am so into this build. I am truly glad that the patina thing wasn't for this rig. The bed liner on the running boards would always show footprints bad so not as good as just paint. I did honestly hope for some chrome on headlights, turn signals, mirrors and their brackets, and the taillights. The bumpers have so many different options, black and some steps in the front one would be my choice. I don't think a full big flat face bumper would look good at all but a hole for a receiver hitch on the center or even on either side close to a frame rail would be good cause you will find yourself pulling something and its nice to see what its doing when pulling on that item. A really tremendous job.... maybe another one in the junior size as that one demands respect when you meet it. Chrome air horn an the cab clearance lights.... the led thing is nice for headlights but really..... a custom light job like the freight trucks on the road where they run another alternator just for all the lights is a bit over the top..... your doing what I can only dream about
I like the idea of your saying about doing a rattle can tune up on the paint job before going to a show. We call it going to a Cruise In down here in Ky and some people worry about a little scratch on the finish, Love your idea and it looks great also, one of a kind " THE GENERAL'
Hi Brent still looking good, I was hoping to hear about the first start problem. Also there is a check valve on return line that can cause a fuel drain down situation. FYI. Thanks for sharing another great video with us!😎🤟
Top dawg Carona and I were going through withdrawals! It is looking good! Glad to see driver's side back door got sandblasted! I love how the dog lets himself out. I seriously just sit down and watch. Unlike other shows where I just want the background noise!
Brent: 3M makes anti slip strips you could put on the ribs of the running boards. Most hardware stores sell it by the roll and it is self adhesive. Would protect the painted areas nicely!
And so we say goodbye to the most hated blue door on UA-cam. I’m sure that’s the “general” opinion. Great project! Thanks for helping winter go by.
Glad I’m not the only one. That door been buggin me big time. Lol
ok finally :) nice to see that left rear door get some love :)
I tell ya, he's left it to the very end to drive us all crazy (and make sure that we keep watching!)
I can see being ambidextrous comes in handy when using spray cans. When one hand gets tired, switch to the other one. Really liking the way it's coming together.

I say that the commander & chief has the GENERAL in good shape!!!!

This is quite possibly my favorite build on all of the internet, Love this truck reminds me of an old power wagon

She is coming along nicely!👍👍

Looks great brother, can't wait to see it finished.
Looking good. Nice job. Can't wait to see drone video.
I'm glad u cleaned that windshield, you know how I worry about that overspray. Just want to make sure u can see where you're going. :}
love the ability to "touch up" when needed with the rattle can. doesnt need to be "show quality paint"...."go quality will do."
Ya got to do one JC.. another great channel...big respect.
I don't know why but from the front every time I see it I think of the movie...Duel..I love this truck...big thumbs up.
That old air compressor is just loyal. It fired right to life.
At the end, the proof that a dog is truly a man's best friend. And, I love how Pablo waits at the door for Brent to open it when throughout the day Pablo exits without any help. Great videos. I don't know what the next project will be, but I know I will not miss it. Thanks for sharing.
Right side looks great.Going to be a great piece when done
flat black the mirrors/grill/bumpers and rims and o baby what a machine! im loving the progress! great work!!!
plz paint the bumpers oxide red it would set it right off great build cant believe the transformation from what you started with
keep up the great videos brother and shout out from South Australia
Yikes. Sandblasting with no respiration protection> That's actually frightening. I love this truck BTW. You did fantastic work. Amazing patience too.
You could not have picked a better color for this truck it looks rugged very nice well done 👏👍👌😀🙌
That international is coming out FANTASTIC! Just love this thing.
Rattle can paint looks good 👍, truck is coming together very nicely 👌. Have a good day

Looking at the front end you should make a visor over the windshield the paint looks good ..
It's just BIG and BEAUTIFUL. It's been really great watching.
I don't know about the o-rings but the fuel heater really helps.
Built a mud racing truck 79 chevy made my own pattern and camouflaged it, didn't care what anyone thought of it as long as I liked , rattle canned it and clear coated it became a hit everyone loved it , General Looks great to me digging the color .
What an awesome looking conversion! Love the paint you got going on! 🤘🏻🤘🏻

your efforts have paid off . that thing looks real good .100% thumbs up
I think your idea to rattle can the General with that olive drab green paint was brilliant!!
Going to be hard to build something more impressive than this one. I think this one of a kind builds are the best, there won't be another one in the parking lot. EPIC !
It's looking good, glad you decided to go with the darker green!
Oh and the body work is really interesting too!
Don't have to worry about paint matches love the build would love to have it
This paint job reminds me of a swb Landrover ie camo green. He went one step further by frosting in native plant fronds. It worked, but you had to see it to believe it.That grille and slats need to be polished as a break from the green even if it is pock marked pot metal.Coming along nicely as a double cab,but when ever you stop will be twenty questions from fans of that work.

I think bye ya got to put a coat of clear over the top of that paint . would look outstanding and polish the rims
Ok..here I go again 😆 love the look and very practical. I REALLY dig the red front bumper and you should pinstripe a nice red line on each hood louver 👍. Also, yes to dropping the driver mirror extension (and add an led marker
Led marker light top & bottom of each mirror. You have me thinkinf seriously about rattle canning my '49 Chevy Coupe in flat black. Thanks
That was some good music I like the horns. I would have never knoticed it had different m8rror. Looks good brotha.
Looking great Still watching and commenting as we go Thanks for sharing Brent That was a lot of work And worth every moment The General is digging it>Kool

I'm glad you're taking the time to do a pretty good job on the body work you spent so much time with everything else worth putting in the time and effort on body work in my opinion and decent paint so many guys quit at that point doing a great job I love your videos keep them coming thanks
Lookin great! I would paint it gun metal gray but that olive green looks awesome. That truck is mean looking, old school charm.
Looks so much better with the chrome wheels.
I love the color , looks like it stepped out of a war picture . Need a winch or tow hooks on the front .
I can't wait for you to put them stacks on man I had a Chevrolet that had stacks on it and it was beautiful
I am absolutely loving this truck, enjoy every video you put out. I don’t know if I’ll ever build another but the things I’ve learned from you will certainly come in handy if I do

Looking better and better. Liked you putting on the Salsa musuc for the sanding! Liked seeing you watching J. C. Smith's live today.
Nice truck. What a lot of work. Nicely done. Remove the mirrors and paint them rattle can silver, then do the radiator cover at the same time. Keep up the good work! !!!!

Brent..
Moving ahead I'm suggesting a rolled pan across the back under the tailgate welded onto the two side pieces should look just terrific.
Perfect sanding music.....
Love how the music you pick seems to match what your doing .....like great sanding music !! Yiba yiba !! Lol
Nice work on the truck impressed on how it turned out. Pretty cool for sure

Love the work, thanks for keeping me sane. I can’t imagine where you get the energy to do all this. Keep it up 👍
Hi! You picked a damn great color! The matte shade is an excellent choice! So you can touch it up whenever you want!
Brent: 3M makes anti slip strips you could put on the ribs of the running boards. Most hardware stores sell it by the roll and it is self adhesive. Would protect the painted areas nicely!
This Truck is Just Stupid Cool!... I'll bet you guys are getting excited about running this Rig... Thanks for Sharing... Brother
