Matt. Your reviews are so much fun to watch as it feels like a Travel Channel program. You show us so much of Los Angeles as your testing the bikes. Plus you provide really useful information. You also have an excellent voice for video. Thanks for your hard work and excellent reviews.
Glad to see they extended the rear fender far enough to keep the tire from throwing debris and mud into the pocket the rear suspension spring goes into. Earlier review units had a shorter fender and dirt and water were being thrown into that difficult-to-clean pocket. Edit - That front-end shimmy when riding hands-free is a little concerning.
You did a really good video. Not just, good as in info. Good like, interesting. I wanted to watch it. Partly because the info was good and the cool bike. Partly because you’re pretty good at the acting part. Great job man!
This bike looks nice and seem like a good all around bike but has no place to put a bottle holder can you raise the handle bars or put a extension on is there enough cable for it
22a controller is too low especially on a 52v system. Too bad they don't have 11t sprocket on the freewheel since 53 front is awesome to avoid ghost pedalling. Max speed also cutoff at 28, 32 would be great, i would go for engwe x24 all day 30 ah cheaper cooler
Between a mountain bike style and a moped style e-bike, which one do you prefer or what are the main riding differences? I've never ridden on either but I'm looking to get one. I ride a full suspension mountain bike mainly on paved bike paths and some light trail riding - trying to figure out what would be more fun.
Your videos are top notch, citizen cycle, maximum charge and a couple of others that's it for me your reviews are the best one of my favorite was the Juliet bike 😂keep it going bro!
Nice bike I like the color, cruise control and that massive battery..oh btw to ride on loose sand at the beach you'll have to let the air out to about 5 psi..I love how I could ride on the beach and get crazy looks 😆
I actually after looking for months. I bought 2 Lectric bikes. Great entry level bikes . But Magicycle makes a completely different E Bike. I will get my Magicycle Deer on Friday…
I have two MagiCycles - a Cruiser Pro and a Deer. The Deer is too heavy for me to load, so I use the Cruiser Pro solely for fun dog trail competitions. The Cruiser Pro motor burned up after having it well under the two year warranty. We paid for shipping to replace the motor under warranty. It has been two months, they continue to postpone delivery, and the communication on status is almost non-existent. I was unable to finish competition for the season. I offered to buy a new Cruiser Pro, to work with the company on a discount and they said they would give me a $120 discount - they have better discounts online. I am not expecting anything for free or demanding an unreasonable purchase on a new Cruiser Pro. I just wanted to be able to finish the competition. BTW, I am a female almost 60 years old, I don’t ride this bike crazy, nor do I use the motor all the time. Typical assist is between zero and one, and I am the only person to ride the bike. It’s unfortunate that MagiCycle has either gotten big enough that they don’t feel the need to value their customer base, or are having financial problems due to eBike competition, or have known problems with the motor and they will not admit to it. Either way, it is a shame that, when you love the bike, they are all-in, but when there is a problem, they disappear. So BEWARE and hope that you don’t experience problems with your bike - either UNDER warranty or not.
Bought two step overs after watching a lot of your different reviews…. Tried your discount codes but magicycle said they were invalid… love the channel
One thing that would be useful to include in your review would be who the odm is for each motor. With company A rating their 1500w motor at 750w for compliance, and company B rating their 500w motor at 750 to be competitive, it would be a big help in comparison? Especially for people who are looking to upgrade later down the road. Cell type for the sane reason. Basically, whats the choke point on each model.
Thanks for the review! I am trying to decide between the Deer and the Vitilan T7. What is your opinion on the rear suspension on these two bikes? Do you find one better, which one? We have rough dirt roads and trails in NH and would prefer a softer ride!
T7 has more rear suspension travel, deer has the option to get step thru frame which is not common for full suspension e-bikes. Both have pros and cons, though call, both ride smooth. I know, great help right 😆
Thanks for responding. I'm also concerned with the Magic not having brand name components. They do both have nice features for the price. Which would you choose? Loved your Tahoe video! There are not many reviews that take them off road. @@TailHappyTV

Thanks, I have not, my gut feeling tells me the cty2 could do it because of the high power, but it is a direct drive I believe which is typically less capable of low speed torque and better at higher speed power
I got done watching the other MagiCycle review that you have done and I noticed how that bike made it up the parking garage no problem and this one had some problem.. Was that other bike brand new like this bike.. Specifically, was that the first ride with the battery? Do batteries take a little time to get full strength? Do you need to charge them and then ride them a few times before you get full strength out of the battery? (I know some scooters need a few charges before max strength).
Big chunk of weight from the integrated controller and battery areas. Looks better but all that extra frame work is 50% or more of the weight added over a Magicycle cruiser frame. Then the rear shock and related frame and hardware area is the rest . roughly 16 lbs of frame and rear shock added.
Interesting, yea this weighs about 15 lbs more than a hard tail fat ebike with the ugly externally mounted battery. The rear rack also adds a few lbs, it was already installed or I would have weighed it but I’d say it was at least 4-5 lbs, it’s a very large beefy rack capable of perhaps… hauling the kids to soccer practice ⚽️
I'm looking at these 2 also. The new updated wired is better overall (2 batteries, better suspension design, 4 piston brakes w/203mm rotors). I'm just worried about taking it on paved bike/walking paths and being disallowed at state parks, etc. Is this a valid concern or can you pretty much ride it anywhere as long as you are behaving? The Deer would at least pass the 750 watt limit restriction in most places.
Nice looking bike but the only things that make it better than my $1500 Himiway Cruiser is rear suspension , hydraulic brakes and 3ah more on it's battery than mine . For $1000 more I'd rather have the Wired freedom($2000) or Ariel Kepler($1800) which are cheaper and faster . I can always buy an extra battery for way less than $1000. Thanks for the review
It's a matter of total QUALITY construction - I know both bikes and have a picture of the Himiway cracked/broken in half. Buy Magicycle when a sale hits if you are pinching dollars/pennies... I do it also. Talk to a Dealer for both bikes and test your riding style to the perfect fit. Our 2+ year WARRANTY, QUALITY of construction and other features will make you a Magicycle believer... like me! lol
I think i would get the brand new 2024 Wired Freedom.. Inproved suspension and 10 mph faster. That is, if you are not 5'6" or less or have leg amd hip trouble gettin on big bikes
Not really a tall rider bike out of the box. I had to go with a longer seat post and a adjustable 110mm head post to get the handle bars up and out. Never liked the grips they were too hard. Went with Ergon grips which cost allot but way better for me. I also went with a 60t front chainring with a 136 link chain. Now, no ghost pedal at 28mph in gear 7. Now i can assist the bike at 28mph and i decreased the watts from 900 down to 650 watts. Ghost pedal now in-gear 5 at 900 watts. The bike now just feels right and im 6ft 2” i also changed the seat. This bike does have the best ride quality with the rear shock.
magicycle deer for its larger single 20ah 52v battery if you want to do mostly street cruising (I'd consider step thru variation, I prefer it for ease to get on and off)
Watch this video and see how it performs relative to other bikes: 27 Ebikes VS ONE STEEP Hill! ua-cam.com/video/Dz3KjsXlkjE/v-deo.html Regardless of number claims on a speed sheet, this test reveals the true torque
Good review! Bike Needs to be under 2k. Arguably 1500 should be the cap on a e-bike. This one included! I didn’t see anything that commands the higher price tag of 2700.
After the discount it’s quite a bit less. Considering the battery size and full suspension and competition price, I think over $2k is competitive at the time
They are developing a dealer network so people can get bike serviced, offer a 2 year warranty and have a great build and full suspension $2400 may be a bit high maybe a 100 over but this is a well built bike with the ability to modify the individual settings
This bike is currently under $1900 dollars would you still recommend this bike for a first time multi use buyer? Is there anything out there you like a bit more for that $2000 dollar range that is comparable?
@@lilajake463 Look at the specs. First its a Cadence sensor - this is useless in off-road situations or for serious hill climbing because it does not apply the right power. There is only one battery, so range isn't great. The shifter and derailleur is junk, bottom of the pile in quality. Only the two piston no name brands brakes. No air shock, typical fat tire bike no wheel options, this bike is at best a $2,000 ebike
Why the hell the fash tire? So sick of them. They don't work anywhere optimally. You might as well ride a horse. We can pass our bikes over gates or just lift it between the side. All the fat tires do is add rolling resistance and makes using them as commuter bikes impossible and makes it more expensive for no reason. I bet they could have used the money spent in a torque sensor.
@@TailHappyTVI have a mountain bike and road bike already for exercise. I’m most likely focused on speed and power. It’ll be primarily used moving stuff to the beach or high speed trips. Do you think the grizzly or ECELLS would be better?
This bike ticked a lot of boxes. Unfortunately not available in the UK. Be good if you could mention availability in your videos otherwise very much enjoy your work.
That's weird...why didn't you do the initial 20% incline test again (the one in your building's garage) once you unlocked the top speed?? Yes I know climbing is more about torque than "speed" but unlocking the top speed is to unleash the full power of the motor (1100W peak according to Magicycle) so that was disappointing to not see! Otherwise good review and useful. Thanks!
the real question everyone wants the answer to is how did that metal wire not give you a flat tyre? looks like it went in an inch and a half at least ???
The original Magicycle came out and went faster than the current pro, deer and Ocelot .. Not sure why they cut top speed down below 30 mph now. Oh well.
@@TailHappyTVI would be curious to know if I could swap in my Kepler motor, controller and display on this frame. Get a faster bike with full suspension.
Well had mine for a year. horrible warranty by Magiccycle. Hub failure, front shocks leaking, and the brakes failed after going down Mt Whitney road- I had to stop repeatedly for them to cool and I was easy on them. I am not a speed demon just entered being a Sr Citizen so I want to minimize opportunities for broken hip, broken anything. The bike has good quality's but MagicCycle won't honor warranty after multiple videos, audios, over 30 emails back/forth sending more audio video- Two bike shops says the components need replacement. Is that the type of company you want to do business with?!!
Magicycle has not responded to the fact they sent an inoperable bike no power charged battery before trying to start. Battery good controller inop. This is my 3rd e bike glad I kept rad. I have contacted they sent picture of thumb control power on button its not there on left side no thumb control they should no that
Interesting, I’ve never had a bike arrive dead on arrival yet, you did remember to plug the display in right? Sometimes there’s a switch on the battery you have to turn on the battery for to work as well, I don’t remember if this one has that or not. I hope you get it all sorted out.
@TailHappyTV checked battery checked power button on pas pushed a hundred times. No phone to call no intelligent response on email My third e bike Vgo for wife rad for me good service on both bikes no problem. Magicycle seems to have no service just sales
I was disappointed to see that an ebike with the name Deer was just another fat tire hub motor underpowered short-range low-end SUV. I think Magicycle calls it "The Ultimate Electric Adventure Bike"... but they also quote a ridiculous unobtainable range. This is the bike I have been riding for over 7 years now compare them for yourself... 1000W (1.34 h.p.) mid-drive producing up to 160Nm of torque. 58.8V 35Ah (2058Wh) triangle lithium packs. Fully suspended bike including the FAIV front rack and trailer. Rohloff Speedhub 14 gear IGH allows fast easy gear changes while keeping a straight chain line minimizing drive train wear to about $25 a year. SON dynamo hub provides light and rechargeability for all USB electronics. Modified single-wheel suspension trailer designed to carry a foldable 300W solar panel means self-supported riding without needing any electrical infrastructure. Steel frame for strength, durability, and ease of modification/repair, 26" X 2.5" wheelsets for agility on singletrack yet little rolling resistance on hard surfaces, no proprietary parts, fully upgradeable and/or downgraded back to a standard bicycle. 100+ mile range averaging 15 mph with sprint ability in excess of 45 mph unloaded. - photos.app.goo.gl/ADgC6oyPM2gyrCq27
You are 6-7 inches taller than average ebike men and a foot taller than most women. Maybe in the future you can add in a female to sit on bikes and do a short ride to show how they are ergonomically to average riders.
Great suggestion since Matt has such excellent reviews. At 6-5, I had to really hunt for reviews by taller riders, so I especially appreciate his perspective. There are literally 100s of bike reviews by average to shorter people.
I actually bought the Deer the suspension is remarkable. Also they use a motor that actually produces 96nm not like another company that starts. With a B that’s not even close. I guess it’s up to you I have been on quite a few E bikes I have 2 Lectric’d this so far is the best I have ridden..
I have a magicycle. The power is adaquate, but if your into higher performance and less engineering, Ariel Rider is probably a better choice. I say lesser engineering is because Ariel give a good bang for the buck power, but it's not much of a pedal bike. How you sit is awkward for peddling. It really depends on what you're looking for.
this is NOT a good deal, burchda rx80 is 500 less, a lot of bottom of the barrel parts just like all the other ebikes. To avoid ghost pedaling, look for an 11T sprocket at the back, and and 52T in the front. Some have 3 chainwheels at the front with a left side shifter - totally useless! only the biggest one will be used (ideally 52T)
The company is a crook. The bike is junk, a junk weld regret. Try to turn it back in. Impossible. Go read the other reviews. Tires is the only thing worth it
A horribly constructed bike, the controller should be at least 28 to 30 amps. And throttle only 28 mph and you have to unlock . There are faster bikes on the market for much cheaper price. Even the HAOQI white leopard pro bike gives 30mph on throttle only.
I see you take big chances in traffic and around pedestrians. Eventually, someone will open a car door or walk in front of you. I am thinking of donating to help pay your Hospital and Lawyer bills that will happen unless you slow down.

My choice is between this or the Aventon Aventture 2.
Suggestion?
Magicycle
enjoy your reviews would you choose Magicycle Deer or Wired Freedom?
Did you get an answer? That's a good comparison that I'd like to see as well.
Must be nice to be American 😅 Ariel won’t ship outside of their own people lame move 😂
Our 2+ year WARRANTY, QUALITY of construction and other features will make you a Magicycle believer... like me! lol
Forget the Bike I want that magic vacumme cleaner. :)
😂
I gotta get me one of those vacuums. That was quick!!!
😂
Is this like a better version of eCells or Wired ?
Probably the opposite actually
@@TailHappyTV Interesting. Thank you
I think i would get the brand new 2024 Wired Freedom..
If you were choosing between this bike and the Haoqi Cheetah, which would you choose?
magicycle deer for its larger single 20ah 52v battery if you want to do mostly street cruising (I'd consider step thru variation, I prefer it for ease to get on and off)
how much torque does magicycle deer have?
Watch this video and see how it performs relative to other bikes: 27 Ebikes VS ONE STEEP Hill!
ua-cam.com/video/Dz3KjsXlkjE/v-deo.html
Regardless of number claims on a speed sheet, this test reveals the true torque
Good review! Bike Needs to be under 2k. Arguably 1500 should be the cap on a e-bike. This one included! I didn’t see anything that commands the higher price tag of 2700.
After the discount it’s quite a bit less. Considering the battery size and full suspension and competition price, I think over $2k is competitive at the time
I agree. Too expensive. It’s very old technology and too heavy. Suspension is gimmicky and not good at all
They are developing a dealer network so people can get bike serviced, offer a 2 year warranty and have a great build and full suspension $2400 may be a bit high maybe a 100 over but this is a well built bike with the ability to modify the individual settings
Especially since the low end parts are worth about 600 wholesale
yep..lol..keep both hands on the bars and keep on editing out the stops signs you run..hahahahah...love the reviews!
This bike is currently under $1900 dollars would you still recommend this bike for a first time multi use buyer? Is there anything out there you like a bit more for that $2000 dollar range that is comparable?
Other options in this price range and similar suspension set up would be the Wired freedom, and the mokwheel obsidian
What GPS software do you use?
Strava
Iam 6feet 2inches tall would I fit and comfortable Magicycle Deer
Yes
Couldn’t imagine paying that much for 5 year old technology on a 95 lb tank.
How do you know that is a 5-year-old technology?
Fat Tire is more stable than 2 inch tire change tire for semi slick if needed pump to 35 psi you'll get super stability and less friction on pavement
This vs Ariel rider grizzly. Which do I want?
If you want to pedal and get exercise, I would choose this one
😆 luckily it just got tangled in there and did not stab thru
Battery is same but at 52v will drain faster and controller max 22a is not great
I’d love you to compare this to a Kepler
Me too, wish Ariel would communicate with me 😕
There’s no comparison. The Kepler blows this thing away.
P must be parked mode with no power to PAS or throttle
Don't like that "no-hands" shimmy!
gotta get you hands on the cyrusher ranger / trax
The original Magicycle came out and went faster than the current pro, deer and Ocelot .. Not sure why they cut top speed down below 30 mph now. Oh well.
liability prob
@@TailHappyTVI would be curious to know if I could swap in my Kepler motor, controller and display on this frame. Get a faster bike with full suspension.
I used your code! Thanks for the reviews; helped me buy my first ebike!
Happy riding! Thanks 🙏
What’s the price
$2699
The link shows current price, there is a discount code in the description box too
Would buy two to pricey
The price is about 700 too much
You're using the Invisible e-bike for the next video?
Well had mine for a year. horrible warranty by Magiccycle. Hub failure, front shocks leaking, and the brakes failed after going down Mt Whitney road- I had to stop repeatedly for them to cool and I was easy on them.
I am not a speed demon just entered being a Sr Citizen so I want to minimize opportunities for broken hip, broken anything.
The bike has good quality's but MagicCycle won't honor warranty after multiple videos, audios, over 30 emails back/forth sending more audio video-
Two bike shops says the components need replacement.
A huge value not. Customer service was a huge disappointment.
Bummer
9:17 woooo 🤔
This bike cost 2399.00 with sales tax included.
such cool bikes on your channel BUT none of them ship to Europe *sad noises*
Deer mini coming?
hope so
Remove the safety sticker. DEFINITELY looks better!
Quickly steal the front wheel
😆
Your discount code is now worth $100, not $300
its only 300 for 2 bikes I think
Must be inflation or deflation?
You are 6-7 inches taller than average ebike men and a foot taller than most women. Maybe in the future you can add in a female to sit on bikes and do a short ride to show how they are ergonomically to average riders.
I actually have been doing that in my last 3 videos! Will be part of the process from now on when possible 🙏
Great suggestion since Matt has such excellent reviews. At 6-5, I had to really hunt for reviews by taller riders, so I especially appreciate his perspective. There are literally 100s of bike reviews by average to shorter people.
Hell no, overpriced! $1700 is the max I’d pay.
Yup. People getting ripped off with this one. All hype
Try a Rise and Muller but sit down before you the prices. Ride safe😊
I actually bought the Deer the suspension is remarkable. Also they use a motor that actually produces 96nm not like another
company that starts. With a B that’s not even close. I guess it’s up to you I have been on quite a few E bikes I have 2 Lectric’d
this so far is the best I have ridden..
That thing has very weak power output. Thanks for pointing that out
I have a magicycle.
$2,500. I know "affordable" is relative but.......
too expensive! 2.5K$, my budget is only 500$, I'd rather innovate one
This bike looks close to nothing in comparison with 2024 WIRE FREEDOM in many ways like price, biggg power, gear, suspension adjustment..😮
Magicycle brought to you by vagisil
How many points (money) did magicycle give you for this video?
Your code is only $100 off... Not $300
You can only get 40 miles 😅😊
its magics ,.one second
this is NOT a good deal, burchda rx80 is 500 less, a lot of bottom of the barrel parts just like all the other ebikes.
Just the name would keep me from buying this bike. It sounds like a female cleanliness brand. 😂
Not impressed at all with that bike.
I see you take big chances in traffic and around pedestrians. Eventually, someone will open a car door or walk in front of you. I am thinking of donating to help pay your Hospital and Lawyer bills that will happen unless you slow down.
Hush Karen!!
If someone in a car opens the door without checking the back for potential cyclist, then it’s that person’s fault.
you seem so bored on this review. lol
750w of lameness , cool bike otherwise
😆
52 Volt - so what? Means nothing
