Stumbled upon your channel while traveling in Europe. I subscribed. I had the previous March 2024 wired freedom and recently purchased the late 2024 wired cruiser. I am 6 foot five and I like the step through option. I’m not fat, but I’m just tall. The bike is pretty heavy and you really have to be careful when getting on and off. For you, the bike is a little big in all honesty. I will say that it is a power horse! I would love to see you do a review of the cruiser so reach out to Steve and see if he will send you one. You will absolutely love it, even more than the freedom. They both still look like Bikes and that is what I like. The speed is plenty and I rarely need it. I use it as a commuter when I am camping. What state are you in?
Compared to a 20inch moped style bike, the 26x4 full suspension Wired bikes provide a most comfortable and capable ride. You can go easily go over obstacles that would swallow a 20 inch tire. By far the most comfortable bike I have ever ridden. Love the ability to ride on bike paths in complete stealth and rip it on the street.
It is a great bike with a lot of value for sure! 60v is insane and it’s very discrete. Not like the moped style I prefer which are much more eye raising.
… My only criticism, if I look really hard, is that the seat could-be cushier. I don’t want to replace it because I like the logo, but I think I am gonna put a better seat on it. Because it is so fun to ride, I find myself on it for sometimes two hours, and that is tough on the tush!
Nice video. I was just wondering if you had the start strength turn down on the bike when you did this video. Most videos on this bike show the front wheel wanting to lift up when you give it full throttle off the bat. But I did not see this on your video. Just curious. Thanks again
I did at first and when I had too little air pressure in the rear shock it did lift a little… I pumped in more air and it helped keep the front down.🤘🏻
@@thebikecave Probably the cheapest brand that can handle the torque. Pinion is on the pricey side. Enviolo might be ok? With an electric bike, the issues with the squishy feel and loss of efficiency aren't as important. After all, the batteries and motors are doing most of the work on a high powered E-bike.
I have the Wired "Predator". I'm 6ft and 270lbs jacked. I love the bike. Definitely a big bike. I eat through the battery with the dual motors. Wish they had a discount on the batteries. Crazy expensive and you can't buy the rear battery.
just got a mukkpet 500 GL , im brand new to ebikes but this allows me to actually travel . i have never driven and im 33 . i broke the speed limit today :D
@@thebikecave when i got home i grabbed a manual online and figured out the panel, limited my speed to 30 max, and from 48v to 32 or the medium setting, the bike was sold to me by another owner that had it on the max lol
Wired corrected any instability with a steering dampening headset that is now installed on all their bikes. All the e cells dual battery bikes have a terrible wobble and they offer no solution only an F rating from the BBB.
same story here, absolutely gutted i couldn't get a freedom, maybe we should collectively ask once we have more UK based buyers. Dallas buyers club. Improvements for the freedom, lose the rack/2nd/mudguards and batt completely, put on some nice mtb bars, beast.
@AndyPacey Have a bunch of people contact a larger bike shop, and see if the bike shop is willing to import a larger amount of bikes at a time, then maybe Wired will ship to there?
its an idea if there were enough of us, but i think its unlikely, SME's have enough on their plate without int'l shipping and support, Ghostcat gave me a similair response, but then said they might ship in Jan, here's hoping. I'd put my money where my mouth is for a freedom plus in dark blue ;)
I just had one delivered last night. Cruiser, lime green. It's still in the garage in the box. I'm not really sure though I kind of just want to keep watching videos on bikes I'm not sure I actually want to ride one. I mean s*** man, what am I going to do now? Does this mean I should stop watching videos for deciding which bike to get? Just because I finally actually got one?
They used those handle bars because they are 10 X's more comfortable than mountain bike handle bars..Mountain bike handle bars are made for jumping, down hill on single track, for true mountain biking..There is no true mountain biking on a bike like that, no matter the handle bars..Especially the older you get, mountain bike handle bars hurt your wrists, hands and back, BMX handle bars do not..Putting thicker, more appropriate tires on the bike would be a much better idea, but to each their own..
When we had to build and piece meal our BMX bikes back in the early 70's you either used heavy motorcycle bars or we like to use Schwinn Jr. bars they were shorter that the banana seat type bars and were straight vertically unlike the bars like cow horns type. We also put those bars on our 10 speeds. Thanks good point on those bars on the is E Bike.
@@Moondoggy1941 hah UK here, back in the late 60s early 70s my best mate and l used to make our own bikes from bits and pieces of bikes others no longer used, wheel from here frame from there handlebars from someplace else, Cowhorns were my favorites big n wide, didnt get a banana sest until the Raliegh Chopper bikes had been out a year or two and were being discarded, we had n Schwinns over here tho l had seen them in movies and in DC comics advertisments, was always impressed by how modern they looked for the times they were made in, the ones from the fifties looked fantastic. BMXbars are the bezt on e bikes I'd say from personal experience especially with a tech bar across the middle for modem screens, mirrors, and phone holders. Love these bike now, would have been over excited if they had been around in my youth lol.
@thebikecave the bicycle industry is just like the US economy. Bicycle manufacturers continue to make change drive instead of belt drive when the technology is available. Americans keep voting for the two corrupt political parties instead of something else.
How some people manage to drag politics into everything danstenis660, hey would you like an ice cream? Ice cream ? With only two toppings sprinkles or strawberry just like USAs voting system same old ice cream and no choice in toppings 😂
States are starting to put laws on the books that clearly states that bikes can't go 28 mph or be unlocked to do it if it has a throttle. The components on that things are absolute bottom of the barrel. What makes this even CLOSE to being the BEST ebike? LOL what is that rear shock? lol!!!
Sure there is better out there but for the price, this is as good as it gets. At least out of the 50ish bikes I’ve ridden this year… What do you consider to be the best bike out there? Any suggestions?

Very true! I like that about the bike as well. Kind of a sleeper bike. No one assumes it goes that fast!🤘🏻

I wonder how customer service is and maintenance cost and getting parts? Where are these made?
Customer service is local in Illinois and all parts on the bike are easy to find at any bike shop. It’s just a bike.
The only thing I would change (though it would definitely cost more money) is maybe have a belt and internally geared hub.
Like a pinion system?

Great idea thanks! I’m 6’ 5” looks perfect!
By far the biggest bike I’ve ridden all year. Great for tall people.
Great review as usual. Do you ever get hassled bringing these "properly powered" bikes into the country?
Nope! No one asks at the border.🤷🏻♂️ Just pay the duty and be on my way…
Is the price it's at right now discount or is that regularly price?

If your bike is 48 volt and you changed that your battery indicator won't be accurate. Your not supposed to change that.

I'd have one, or the Wired Predator, in a flash - but when I asked them, they said they won't ship it to the UK.
Yeah unfortunately there’s a lot of ref tape around sending certain products around the world…

I thought 1 on the acceleration was more powerful off the line, and 3 was a smoother acceleration
