- Fergus Ewing MSP asked the Scottish governemnt what its position is on whether the reported estimated cost of £3.56 million for refurbishment to decarbonise the Procurator Fiscal’s Office in Elgin represents value for money, in light of the property being valued at £275,000 in March 2022.
Mr Ewing then went on to highlight 'A gigantic white elephant of a project of eye watering proportions to build a new office for government to Scottish government staff in Glasgow, When there's frankly huge numbers of empty public buildings already available for its use

Seriously, you could probably take anyone from the population in Scotland and they could do a better job than the SNP when it comes to Finance. Quite simply a toddler couldn’t do any worse, DRS, Ferries,EU unspent Grants, IPads Motorhomes, missing party funds, the list just goes on and on. They DO care and DO make sure they get value for money. The ferries are just one example of their incredible ability to save money and bring the project in under budget. The SNP only take expenses when absolutely necessary, choosing instead to use their own money from their salary which they voluntarily take a lowered amount every year. Everything that can be done DIY (like the refurbishment of the Scottish Parliament) is done and, I understand, Wee Jimmy is a dab hand with a Long Tom and roller on a broom handle to get the ceilings and corners.
All in all the Scottish Govornment has saved hundreds of trillions of Scottish Pounds by working VERY hard and being frugal with The Peoples money. They have even imported thousands of highly skilled engineers and doctors from the south coast of England, along with benefits testers and free house tenants because they are EXACTLY the sort of fresh blood Scotland needs.
