Delboy helped me get my Bonneville suspension dialed in about 10 years ago. Now I have a Street Glide and thought for sure the rear shocks were frozen, only to come across this video. Delboy does it again. Off to ebay. Thanks brother!
I bought my 2020 SGS in early July and with camping gear the stock shocks worked fine on the right setting. I noticed how harsh the ride was riding solo though and have been looking at upgrades. All are way out of my budget right now. Anyway fast forward to now (Sep) and having watched your vlog I thought I would try the ebay option. What a fantastic result. I got 13" ex Sportster shocks for £40 and installed them on the softest setting of 3 notches, the ride height was just as you described with 1" of sag. Im about 220lbs so they did bottom out on large ruts or speed bumps, but after changing to the middle of the 3 setting these shocks do the trick 100%. Youve probably saved me £1000 as I was going to pull the trigger on some Legend Revo's after saving up the dosh.....thank you so much for yet another top tip sir. Love the channel, been subscribed since I got my first bike, an Iron 883 back in 2016, thanks again
I literally just swapped my ultra limited rear shocks out for some old ikon shocks off an old sportster just prior to seeing your video. They are a 12” shock, inch shorter than stock ultra shock, but the ride is just so much smoother. For the price of old shocks sitting in shed, well worth the spanner time. 👍
Hey Del just to update you on the Drag Specialties 11 1/2in rear shocks I swapped out for the OEM 12in original 2017 Street Glide shocks. Had the bulk of the riding season on them and I`m thrilled with the ride they give the bike. Thanks to your video I`m a happy camper. FYI Cheers!😁
That's great news you found a solution, appreciate you getting in touch to let me know, it's great info. to have! Enjoy your beautiful bike and ride safe! All the best, Del
Just put Sportster 13-inch shocks on my 14 Street Glide can't wait to go for a ride and see how this works out, but can tell just by sitting on it I think it will be fine! Thanks, it was your video that took me that direction! Ride safe my brother down under!
The legend is back!!!!!!! Hell yeah!!!!! Welcome back brother, looking good back in the garage!!! Such a simple fix and only £50 for a pair of 2nd hand mint shocks…..what’s not to love aye !!!!! Much love to Penny xxxxx
Hey brother, how wonderful to hear from you, thanks so much for your message... it is great to be back in our environment and hearing from the friends we love... it's been a difficult 6 weeks! Hugs to you and the family from us both, xxxx
Did this to my 05 Electra glide. Rear tire pressure set at 40psi. The ride was way better. Ordered some more Sportster shocks for my 22 Street Glide. I refuse to pay $1 k for shocks. Thanks Del!
Great to see you back Del hope you are feeling better have to say you are looking well my friend. Love this type of video a cheap fix for what could be a very expensive fix as you alluded to at the start of the video.
Thanks Freddie, it's great to be back and doing what we love. This is a simple little fix, and even if you only see it as temporary it'll give you some suspension travel back while you save up for a posh option..
Whoooow did this swap last week on my 2001 RG and now im watching this video ,yes they are way better than the ones it came out with :) Thanks always for your very informative videos

Good tip! I actually just upgraded my Dyna to Legend Revo A shocks, it's life changing! Now the seat doesn't slap my but going down the dirt roads. One problem I had is that Legend recommends a 13 inch shock instead of a 12 inch shock. When you sit on the bike it's the same height as the stock shocks, but when you get off it raises the bike up an extra inch. The problem was that the bike felt like it was going to fall over on the kickstand because of the steeper lean angle. So I bought a kickstand that was one inch longer, then the problem was that the kickstand in the up position rested against my plastic belt guard, not safe at all. So I had to buy a custom kickstand bumper. Didn't seem like that bumper was very secure on the bike so I glued it on with silicone sealant. Now my bike is perfect, didn't expect to have the kickstand problems though, something to keep in mind... Next on my list is replacing the rear engine mount, hopefully that new kickstand bumper doesn't get in the way LOL!
Just found some Sportster 5 position shocks on my EGC. Much cheaper alternative. Took it around the block and did some adjusting on the fly. Feels pretty good so far. Removed the air ride shocks. The right rear shock apparently wasn’t holding air. Ride was pretty bumpy. Thanks for showing us this.
That's great news, glad it's worked out for you, it always needs a little adjustment as it beds in, but it's way more reliable than the air ride...as you've found.
Hi Kevin I hope this message finds you well, Update on shock installation. I actually couldn`t find a decent pair of OEM 13in. Sportster shocks locally. So I purchased 13in. Drag Specialties Sportster version. After the install they had fairly decent sag but raised my 2017 Street Glide 1in. higher. Not what I was looking for so I purchased the Drag Specialties 11 1/2in same series shock for Sportsters Low. Installed them this afternoon and test drove the bike this evening. I worried they might bottom out but not even once and I made the loop around some rough roads. I would say the ride is 80% better and the 11 1/2in lowered the bike to 8 3/4in measurement from the concrete to the lowest point on the rear fender when the bike is on the kickstand. So I`m very happy now with a better ride and more feet on the ground. If I had not viewed your video who knows what expense I would have been into so thanks for that. I hope we can chat again at some point. Cheers gunner
Hi buddy, ... the name's Del, not Kevin btw! ...Am really glad this worked for you, it's a great cheap fix for a ridiculous problem that the factory should hold their hands up to... the OEM shocks simply don't work at all unless the rider's 400lbs, or carrying concrete slabs in the bags!... hardly conducive to good handling on a bike they market as a 'good handling bike'... anyway, I love your straightforward initiative when you couldn't find some old ones, you have the benefit of brand new shocks with no wear and as you said, a bike that now works for you far better! Thanks for your feedback buddy.

Great budget idea put to use. I have a 2016 Street Glide Special road like the rear shocks were seized. Not wanting to dump a grand on a set of rear shocks I found a set of OEM new take offs from a 2000 883 with 13" shocks like new for $65. I weigh 230 and set the shocks on middle setting...HOLY ......!!!!! I am very pleased with it, Thank you for the tip

Coincident;y, this is exactly what I'm doing on my "new" 2007 Electra Glide Standard I just bought few hours ago. I discarded the air shocks and I'm replacing them with Sportster shocks that I already have at hand. I concur with this gentlemen statement, the vendors are selling us over sprung shock thinking that it'll be installed on a train !!!!.
I have a question I have a 07 Street glide fly and I have the same problem with the suspension tell me please how works for you and exactly with shock you buy thanks a lot
Well it works on mine Mark.. does yours ride almost rigid?, do you find it bangs hard over pot holes?, do you want more rear shock movement?.. if so mate, then for what a pair of ex-Sporty shocks cost, bolt them on and see..! Mine rides ten times better now and for £50.!
Thank you so much for those kind words both of you. i have indeed got a fair way to go, i get really tired really quickly, so no stamina right now, but it's getting a bit better every day.. Take care both and keep safe. D&Pxx
@@Moonfleet41 I know what you mean. I often drop off late afternoon for no apparent reason, but was told to expect that. Of course it could be the meds too. Don't underestimate what you have been through. I reckon you will be back to normal or better than, after 6 months but not before. So make allowances, you have all the time in the world. All the best to you and Penny.
Thanks Spencer, yes mate, getting better every day and taking things easy.. im off the Dayjob until further notice, so just this to take care of.. and Penny says thank you too.
If I’m not mistaken those come with 12 inch shocks which will give a stiffer ride. My 2014 Ultra Limited had 13 inch stock air shocks which sucked. I switched to the 13 inch Harley Davidson premium hand adjustable shocks and couldn’t be happier.
Wow Tom, that is some impressive mileage and nicely run-in now! I hope to do some serious mileage on mine and a few mods too, once I get back to normal, it seems at the moment every time I go out for a day ride it's a minimum 100miles!
Thanks for the vid. great fix. I have 2013 road glide custom. I installed 2015 road glide special stock shocks, got ride of air ride. My ride is still somewhat harsh. If I install your suggestion will it work if I add passanger and some gear ??
I have a 2007 street glide and I weigh about 145-150 and I’ve got the factory air shocks and there’s times I’ll hit a big bump in the road and it’ll bounce me off the seat… can you do a follow video on the ride quality of these sportster shocks on your street glide? Or at least a Q&A please.
If your bike bottoms out at that point, then that's a sure sign you need to keep the standard factory shocks... if you're going this route, it's because you load your bike light, if you load your bike heavy, you need to go the factory route, but if you do both, then you need air ride!
That’s for the video. Great information channel. My question is I found a set of sportster XL1200 883 size 11.75 shocks .Will these fit my 2023 street glide special. Thanks again
Have been searching for a pair, the set's I've viewed seem to have a very large cap over the coil spring, don't they would fit. Any chance you might give me a part number? A big fan...
Good afternoon Del installed 13 inch shocks from a 2000 Dyna - getting a better ride but the shocks make a little "Biff" sound when going over a bump. So I loaded them to the second lightest setting but still getting a Biff sound. I don`t know if they are tired shocks or bottoming out. Not much of current years Sportster shocks around here only old shit - but I`ll keep looking. Cheers Mate! gunner
Take a close look at the springs and see if they're curved and touching the damper tube.. that may be the source of the noise.! Otherwise maybe look for some older or better quality ones and that should improve it!
Nice to see you doing what you love to do again 💪 the shocks look good it's kinda a shame to put the boxes in front of it. But they where meant to be there so i understand✌️
Yes mate, i agree, the boxes for a part of the overall architecture of the bike, but you are right, in the "Raza Style" the boxes are left off and long chrome fishtail pipes fitted real low.. plus maybe some air ride to slam the back..lol.. Maybe not for England in the rain aye..lol! Thanks for your kind words buddy, it's great to be back.. D&Pxx
This will make the rear end softer but Sportster shocks are not designed for the weight of a touring bike. The reboumd won't work correctly and you could end up with a bouncy rear end. Ordering aftermarket shocks that are setup for your weight on your specific bike is the best way to go.
'''Ordering aftermarket shocks that are setup for your weight on your specific bike''", of course that's the way to go, but David that will cost you a fortune, and this is a suggestion you may use if you're not able to afford that, moreover mate, I said exactly what you did in the video, that they are set up for a lighter bike and as a lighter rider, that's what I need and whatever you may theorise, they actually work in practice, I've done 200 miles on them now in town and countryside and they're 10 times better than standard... so they work!
Del i have a Sporster 48 with rock hard suspension- I’ve just booked to have Ohlins fitted in a couple weeks. Is there a similar thing that I could do?
Hey Allen, great to hear from you, hope life is good there, and you're getting out on the bike for lots of rides... enjoy your weekend and take care of everyone, D&Px
Hi Dell how you doing reallyneed your help I have a r6 2001 I'm trying to remove the front sprocket chain nun and rear wheel nun could you recommend a impact drill which would do the job perfect for me cheers bro take it easy look after yourself take care yeah good to see you back
Hey Del...question - any specific year on the 883 shocks to swap. I have a 2020 electra glide, and my left rear shock crapped. Wanting to replace the rear shocks and came across your video. Could save some serious $$ on your "fix" Thanks
Absolutely brilliant sir! You confirmed what I was thinking. Why throw away money when you don't have to. I'm sure I can find something else to spend it on........or if I can't my wife sure can🤣
I have a dyna wide glide, is it possible to disassemble the shock and cut the spring down to lower the ride height. I had this done on my 68 firebird to achieve the stance I liked.
Hi Kevin : Quick question when you installed the 13in Sportster shocks with the sag they created, when you Sit on your bike Does it lower the bike with your weight? I would be happy with that. It`s a 2017 Street Glide and when it`s on the kick stand it measures 9 3/4 in from the concrete to the lowest tip of the rear fender I`m looking for 8 3/4in. If I`m sitting on it will the sag give me 8 3/4in.? Thanks again sorry to be a pain. Cheers gunner
Hey Gunner, simple answer, yes it will, when you mount the shocks they're already 30mm longer than the rock hard factory shocks which don't move at all, even when you sit on the bike, as you know... but the extra 30mm of height on the Sportster shocks sags when you lower it off the jack, leaving the bike standing at exactly the same factory height as you currently have... with the added bonus of what you're looking for, which is when you sit on it, it will sag at least another inch under your weight... you have 3 suspension pre-load positions, I only ever found it bottom out once when I was on the lowest setting and had a pillion on the back, but twisted the pre-load collar up to the 3rd position and even with a pillion and some weight in the bags, it didn't bottom again... you will most certainly get an inch lower to the ground in day to day riding... which you'd only get from the factory shocks if you weigh 400lbs... good luck with it, let us know you get on, all the best Del
@@Moonfleet41 Hi Kevin thanks for your speedy reply with a wealth of info that makes great sense. Hopefully closing the gap on this shocking issue. I`ll give you a heads up when I find a pair of 13in Sportys and get them installed. Have a great weekend. TL gunner
I wonder, the shock from 883 can handle this big glide. We talking about extra weight and different frame model. And i still wonder if it safe for a long journey ride with my wife. Can you help answer me. Because i still seeking this answer
Perhaps you missed or skipped what i said in the video Daniel, the Street Glide shocks are rigid.. massivley over sprung, they need lots of load to make them work..and and im light and so is my pillion. The Sportster shocks give me supple and smooth suspension travel, but if your factory shocks move and ride silky they perhaps you're loading them enough to make them work.!? as for fitting.. both bikes have identical mounts each end .!
You shouldn't need this modification at all if you're a heavier rider and carry luggage.. the whole point of it is for lighter riders riding empty and the springs not moving... i imagine yous will work normally under heavier load unless you have it cranked up too hard.!!
A great idea. Like you, I only weigh about 150 lbs, and my 23 Street Glide rides like a lumber wagon! Unfortunately, the Sportster has been made for 50 plus years in dozens of variations with different ride heights and rear shocks. There are a Zillion "Harley" Sportster shocks on Ebay. Long, short, and everything in between. Some OEM, most are not (Chinese knock-offs) Without a part number, I wouldn't know where to begin to get the correct shocks. This isn't any help.
OK, i get what you're saying, but it's actually not critical down top a part number.. almost every sportster had the same shocks other then different heights.. these were from a 2008 Sportster 883R, and any shock that is 330mm from eye to eye will do the job.
That's awesome, my 2021 ultra is shocking, no pun intended lol. I'm going to try Drag specialtie shocks, heard good and bad about them, but at least the price is right.
Can't guarantee that mate, you'd be on maximum settings, I'm sure, and it largely depends what potholes you ride over... are you sure your factory suspension doesn't work at your weight, even on the lightest setting?
Hi mate just bought the new 117 street glide love it , shocks gotta go or be sorted , once again your a life saver im 180 too so jars my neck and having dashed out loads I need to sort it , thanks again . Andy
This modification is to help light weight riders who ride mostly solo to get some suspension movement, as the factory kit is rock hard... but by 225lb, and with loaded weight from your tour pak, you should be getting some effective comfort from your OEM setup my now..but if you're not, and you've set it all to minimum, then why not give it a try, it is a very cost effective fix after all. !
Thanks, you too Paul, really looking forward to the weekend it's hot dry and sunny, so just need to avoid the beaches and keep away from the coast..! Have a great weekend too buddy.. D&Pxx
Hey Very interesting video. I’m interested in getting the shock’s you are talking about. There are so many on eBay it’s hard to know which ones are right. Can you tell me how to know I’m getting the right one for mine 2020 street glide special? Thanks
Hi Del installed the 2020 Iron progressive shocks 11 1/2 in on my 2017 Street. Had them set at 3 points and was bottoming out or hitting the fender? I don`t know which so I set them at 6 points and it got worse. These shocks had to be installed upside down because the saddle bag was hitting the shock. So I did`nt get what I wanted. 1 inch lower with a softer ride is what my goal is. Did your 13in Sportster shocks lower your bike? Do you have the OEM part number for the 13in you installed? Cheers
I think you've identified your problem buddy, your 11" shocks are too short.. with the 13" shocks, they may be the same standing height as the factory SG shocks, but the difference is they sag, so if possible, locate yourself some basic 13" shocks (330mm) from an 883R if possible, and they'll work perfectly... they'll neither hit the saddlebags, or bottom out, unless you are a heavy rider. Good luck with it, hope you can sort it out.
@@Moonfleet41 Hi Kevin thank you for your speedy reply. Appreciate your knowledge and insight. I`ll be on the lookout for 13inch Sportster shocks but honestly I have not seen many current ones just old very used and pitted ones. But I`ll wait to secure a nice pair eventually. Thx again for your help. gunner
G'day Mate thanks for the great advice, I often ride my street glide solo but also do some touring with the missus so I suppose the sporty shocks will not work for me, will most Harley shocks fit? I was thinking if I fitted some wide Glide or other model shocks that would be heavier than a sporty would they work for both solo and 2 up touring?
I use my StreetGlide with my wife on the back and the shocks set to their stiffest pre-load and they're absolutely fine, but if by 'touring' you mean carrying luggage as well, and depending on your combined body weights, you may just find they bottom out on the deepest bumps, so yes it's logical that perhaps shocks from a Dyna may fit, but there's no exact science to it, it's a case of just trying it out and seeing what works, just like I did... the best part is that OEM shocks are everywhere for sale for cheap money!
Hi Del and Penny, good to see you twiddling the spanners again. I guess that the big shock, little shock arrangement is not too different from the modern big piston fork setup on front ends where one side does the spring rate and the other does the damping.

Brilliant!!! And indeed welcome back. You were missed.
Welcome back, Del. I really enjoy your clever down-to-earth solutions to a problem. Well done. Günter from Nürnberg/Germany
Thank you for your kind words Günter! Cheers!
Great to see you smiling, back in the workshop, Del. And as always much love to you and PP🥰 (but you knew that, right?)
Thanks mate, it's great to be back and im really enjoying be back in the garage..!
Del I have a 2012 street glide would you recommend that on mine
Well it works on mine Mark.. does yours ride almost rigid?, do you find it bangs hard over pot holes?, do you want more rear shock movement?.. if so mate, then for what a pair of ex-Sporty shocks cost, bolt them on and see..! Mine rides ten times better now and for £50.!
Glad to see you back Delboy, but please go easy. You still have some healing to go yet. But another great video!
Good to see you back at it del hope you doing well and the lovely penny too
Thanks Spencer, yes mate, getting better every day and taking things easy.. im off the Dayjob until further notice, so just this to take care of.. and Penny says thank you too.
Nice to c u back in your shop. It‘s great to have you back again.
Thanks Toby, it's good to be back.
If I’m not mistaken those come with 12 inch shocks which will give a stiffer ride. My 2014 Ultra Limited had 13 inch stock air shocks which sucked. I switched to the 13 inch Harley Davidson premium hand adjustable shocks and couldn’t be happier.
Thrilled to see an H-D bagger on your channel. Think I have added 50,000 miles to my Road King since we lasted chatted.
Wow Tom, that is some impressive mileage and nicely run-in now! I hope to do some serious mileage on mine and a few mods too, once I get back to normal, it seems at the moment every time I go out for a day ride it's a minimum 100miles!
Hi Del I`m finding out the 2020 Iron shock is 11 1/2 in. will this shock give me the softer ride AND lower the bike roughly 1 inch? Thx
It will lower the bike a little, no softer a ride than the 13", but certainly a lot softer than the factory items !
@@Moonfleet41 Thank you for that info Kevin. I appreciate your knowledge. Cheers
Great solution! Anyone can do this affordable and easy fix. Thanks for sharing and explaining as you do!
Thanks for watching George.
Thanks for the vid. great fix. I have 2013 road glide custom. I installed 2015 road glide special stock shocks, got ride of air ride. My ride is still somewhat harsh. If I install your suggestion will it work if I add passanger and some gear ??
I'm two weeks into my 2013 Street Glide and have been wondering why the rear suspension is so hard. I guess now I know. Thanks.
Good idea. However, what happens when you do actually load the bike down with luggage and a passenger?
If your bike bottoms out at that point, then that's a sure sign you need to keep the standard factory shocks... if you're going this route, it's because you load your bike light, if you load your bike heavy, you need to go the factory route, but if you do both, then you need air ride!
That’s for the video. Great information channel. My question is I found a set of sportster XL1200 883 size 11.75 shocks .Will these fit my 2023 street glide special. Thanks again
They need to be 330mm, so they sag to 300mm off the jack then you have identical ride height. as i said in the video mate !
I don't even afford a harley but I still love watching your videos anyway, keep it up !!!
Thank you so much for your kind words Linh, I appreciate that!
Have been searching for a pair, the set's I've viewed seem to have a very large cap over the coil spring, don't they would fit. Any chance you might give me a part number? A big fan...
Don't know part num,ber mate.. these were form an 883R if that helps !
Whats your thoughts on the best way to lower my sporty. Thanks
There are a few ways..What rear shock length do you currently have mate.?
@@Moonfleet41 I'm not sure. They are stock. Its a 1995 883. I just looked up lowering kits that are not a bad price.
Welcome back Delboy and Penny
Thanks James.
Roger that Del thanks always for your speedy replies - Have a great weekend! @@Moonfleet41
D&Pxx
Wonder if these shocks woukd work on a older twin cam 88 ultra classic.
Hey Del do you have the HD part number for that 130m shock that you have installed on your ride. Thx gunner
No mate.. i don't keep HD part numbers to hand.. they're just 330mm Sportster shocks, lots for sale second hand im sure !
Very nice! I need to do something with my '08 XL1200L this winter.
Did this and my bottom bolts don't snug/tighten. should I put on another washer ?
Yes, make sure they're firmly secured, no side play..!
Great video. Good to see you back. GOD Bless.
Thank you for your kind words my friend. you too!
Sweet fix for that rough ride! Great to see you back in the swing, Del!!
Hey Allen, great to hear from you, hope life is good there, and you're getting out on the bike for lots of rides... enjoy your weekend and take care of everyone, D&Px
How many Nm's torque is used to secure the shock bolt?
Hi Dell how you doing reallyneed your help I have a r6 2001 I'm trying to remove the front sprocket chain nun and rear wheel nun could you recommend a impact drill which would do the job perfect for me cheers bro take it easy look after yourself take care yeah good to see you back
Hey Del...question - any specific year on the 883 shocks to swap. I have a 2020 electra glide, and my left rear shock crapped. Wanting to replace the rear shocks and came across your video. Could save some serious $$ on your "fix" Thanks
What's the difference in suspension travel between the two Shocks. I.e do the Shocks run out of travel or does the tyre hit the rear guard first
Del great job brother.. But you knew that, right? hahaha That is a very good solution to what could be an expensive problem. Thanks for sharing it..
Thanks buddy, 👍 simple and effective, and best of all, affordable.!
Absolutely brilliant sir! You confirmed what I was thinking. Why throw away money when you don't have to. I'm sure I can find something else to spend it on........or if I can't my wife sure can🤣
Ha ha ha... wise words well said sir !
And what shocks would I need to get in America? I noticed you said your sportster shocks are 330mm in euro spec.
Brilliant.
Delboy is BACK!
Bless you my friend, it's great to be back.
Love to see back MR DEL ...take it easy...
Thank you so much my friend, it;s great to be back.
I’m tiled going to 13 from 12 on my street glide you Need to do the front as well ?
I have a dyna wide glide, is it possible to disassemble the shock and cut the spring down to lower the ride height. I had this done on my 68 firebird to achieve the stance I liked.
Would this suspension fit on a 2000 road king classic? Want to replace the air suspension.
TL gunner
I love this mod! Mind sharing what the torque spec was on the bolts?
Will these we work on an 2008 Road Glide with stock air shocks ?
So how will they respond to a heavy rider (250 LBS) and passenger or luggage. Love the idea.
You shouldn't need this modification at all if you're a heavier rider and carry luggage.. the whole point of it is for lighter riders riding empty and the springs not moving... i imagine yous will work normally under heavier load unless you have it cranked up too hard.!!
@@Moonfleet41 I have it backed off all the way and it's still to stiff.
Then give them a go!
So what happens when you do need to add a pillion and luggage?
Third preload position is fine for a pillion of normal weight, any more and you shouldn't be needing to change them in the first place !
Good to see you back mate nice money saving tip
Thanks Brian.👍
Great to see you back, doing what you do so well.
Thank you kindly Mark, it's great to be back.
That's awesome, my 2021 ultra is shocking, no pun intended lol.
I'm going to try Drag specialtie shocks, heard good and bad about them, but at least the price is right.
Take a look at Progressive Suspension their prices are fair usually and they offer a quality product.
Im 225 lbs and my wife rides with me often, do you think with the right setting will it still work without bottoming out?
Can't guarantee that mate, you'd be on maximum settings, I'm sure, and it largely depends what potholes you ride over... are you sure your factory suspension doesn't work at your weight, even on the lightest setting?
Great to see an affordable solution.. 👍
Thanks Adrian, we all love an affordable solution aye..! more beer vouchers left over for partying.!
Hi mate just bought the new 117 street glide love it , shocks gotta go or be sorted , once again your a life saver im 180 too so jars my neck and having dashed out loads I need to sort it , thanks again . Andy
Good call Andy, giving the bike some rear suspension that actually moves will transform it.. Have fun and glad the video helped you mate.
What if u have tourpak on it? Can u still use sportster shock at a 225 lbs person
Spring has sprung, the grass is ris', time to take the Harley for a whizz. Crackin' vid as ever buddy :-)
You got that right buddy ! Just texteded you..!
Good info👍Is there a budget solution for having a bit longer shocks than 330mm for better lean angle?
I don't have a Street Glide but good information to know 👍Hoping You Del & Penny Are Well 🤗 Have Friday and Have A Wonderful Weekend too. 😀
Thanks, you too Paul, really looking forward to the weekend it's hot dry and sunny, so just need to avoid the beaches and keep away from the coast..! Have a great weekend too buddy.. D&Pxx
Hey
Very interesting video. I’m interested in getting the shock’s you are talking about. There are so many on eBay it’s hard to know which ones are right. Can you tell me how to know I’m getting the right one for mine 2020 street glide special?
Thanks
Hi Wayne, i used some 13" (330mm) Sportster shocks from an 883R model.. as long as they are that length then they'll do the job.
Thx again for your help. gunner
Welcome back mate! So good to see you again. Stay safe and great vid 👍
Thanks Ty, will do!
I have the same street glide here in Canada, Im looking for a set of sportster shocks . Cheers Del Boy
Brilliant. Worth a try bc I doubt the ride quality can get worse.
Great to see you back and looking well
Thank you kindly Tim.
Hi Del and Penny, good to see you twiddling the spanners again. I guess that the big shock, little shock arrangement is not too different from the modern big piston fork setup on front ends where one side does the spring rate and the other does the damping.
Hey buddy, thanks for your kind words, it's great to be back... and yeah indeed, many designs are non-symmetrical!
Hi Del do you know if the 2020 Iron rear shocks will fit my 2017 HD Street Glide as per you video. Love this Vid. Cheers
