My father is over 80 years old. I bought an AR Kepler a few months back and I was trying to get my father interested in E Bikes. I'm not sure if the dad will ever decide on something but one thing for sure, he loves your channel and thinks you are the best source of E vehicle news and knowhow 😁👍
Yeah I ride with a guy and he was passing on red lights and stops. I told him that the cops in my town knows me and there was never a problem with them but if I pass on red light or ride with one who do it will damage my reputation and they will start bordering me. He didn't care so screw him. My bikes are already ultra illegal it would be foolish to do major road code violation like passing on red light.
Without it being a parade no there is never ever a legal reason for one to be able to simply block traffic to let their buddies who are abusing the laws of the road to cut in and or turn. Never. The kids at the end should be sent to school as they clearly are not old enough to even smoke. This is why kids need beatings for being assholes.
We have had our Bolton/Area 13 bike for over a year now. We love them. We are now retired and have taken then around the US and Canada. Our grow children and especially our grandchildren also love to ride them. The helmets with intercom makes a big difference. Highly recommend Area 13 for all your eBike needs/wants.
Individuals or small groups of 2-5 usually go well. Issues always start when groups of more than 5 join together as group mentality kicks in as several individuals start doing stupid illegal stuff. They do it as they feel safe in a group. Be safe people and stick to smaller groups with people who you know and trust.
Don't agree with the last police getting an "A+". He should've confiscated the bikes and made sure which was legal and which weren't. Because he just let them of I'm 100% sure at least one of these kids will die very soon in an accident, at least a handfull will seriously harm themselves and a few unlucky drivers will get blamed for the shit these punchable kids cause. I ride a 12kw Stealth bike with pedals, and I always wear my dirtbike helmet. I've rode up to cops on at least 4 occasions, and talked to them directly. (usually for some random crime or fire) and they have always been cool with me, never even questioned it. Its also a good idea to keep moving. hanging out in one place means someone might call the cops and they don't want to be out looking for some random kids popping wheelies or fighting with hikers. Just go have fun and don't stop to argue.
That's the ones I really don't like all those people in a group ride it's too much blocking traffic going through intersections it's ridiculous the things some of them do which could affect me someday once one of them dies and they take away my right to ride an e-bike
That group ride is a perfect example of why I don't ride with my local ebike group anymore. They advertise themselves as being a group for all ebike riders, but anyone on a street legal bike gets left in the dust while the main group never goes under 30.

Kids like the ones at the end of this video is the reason why our nearby open mall banned bikes. You can't ride them in, you can't walk them by, you can't even park them anywhere within the mall. These kids would take up a 4 lane highway, slow down cars going 65mph. Their reasoning was because they had the numbers. Group disbanded when they lost a number because they wouldn't learn.
That last group was the spoiled teenagers whose parents bought them bikes because they cried pissed and moaned and promised they wouldn't "go crazy on them", their parents are quite successful and they want their kids to "have the things they didn't have growing up", also the parents ride $6000 road bikes so it's only fair/ more affordable to buy surrons for their kids vs $5000 mountain bikes

ILLEGAL... 1)- You can't stop in the middle of an intersection... as a matter of fact, you may not even enter an intersection until it's clear to not only enter it, but to clear/leave it... 2)- You may say, that the car couldn't enter the intersection, since it wasn't clear, BUT, those in the way, were breaking a second law, left turns MUST yield to vehicles coming/going straight through the intersection. 3)- Licensed/registered or not, you MUST obey all traffic laws if you are indeed, on ANY "roadway". My euc has honey comb "pedals" does that count? o.o I have bin on 2 of the big group rides in NYC in the last 2 years and coming from the burbs it was crazy cray cray. The 2nd one I went to was around 100 riders and it blew my mind. We definitely ran a few red lights😅 and had a few crashes and I got lost once but in the end it was worth it. I dont think I would do any big rides like that anytime soon but maybe next summer ill be back in tip top shape to ride some big groups maybe someplace other then NYC where the risk of becoming cab or bus paint is real high 😂 im just happy to be a short 2 weeks away from being cleared for full physical activity and riding anything since having surgery in june. I just keep watching videos but its never quite as fullfilling as hitting dirt trails or burning some rubber on the asphalt. Great video need more like this 👍
Organized motorcycle rides can have safety crew block traffic to keep the group together but it needs to be a certified ride and of course the motorcycles need to be street legal.

There are too many confusing categories of e bikes in America . i live in germany where it's super simple . all pedelecs , meaning 250w motor ( no limit on torque ) no throttle and a motor cut off at 25kph. the other category is a "speed pedelec" that allows for a top speed of about 45kph and must be registered , insured and license .

For Michigan you moter can’t be more then 750 watts and can’t exceed 20 miles an hour but if you do that you can take them anywhere bike are permitted at the same time did you had peddles on it and slapped a sticker on not sure if they’d notice or not be safe brother

the cops in my city are pretty lenient, as long as you aren't a nuisance they let you ride. but the ebike laws here are so restrictive, anything going over 20mph is considered a motorized vehicle, so if you're riding like a clown, they will ticket, or even confiscate your bike
How many Bike rides have you been on. How many motorcycle rides? Because every single group ride has security riders who stop at intersections. Some times those security bikes are Police.

It's a double edged sword because it would actually be safer if you could ride faster if you're planning on riding with traffic The reason is you don't want to have a slow start when the light turns green and takes more than half a minute to reach your top speed of 20 mph. I'm not too sure about Sonoma county but in San Diego I'm allowed to ride with traffic and my eBike goes 31 mph. I'm very courteous to other drivers and always hug the left shoulder in case they want to pass. So I ride with traffic until I see a bike lane open up then I immediately get into the bike lane no matter what my speed. Things you need: You always have to wear a helmet 🪖 Your e-bike has to show the specs at a legible font ( don't cover up or remover the battery sticker basically ) You must obey ALL traffic laws ( no rolling through stop signs, riding against traffic, curb jumping for U-turns, wheelies ect. ) Things you should get: A full face helmet Mirrors A horn ( not a bell ) Patch kit or flat kit Light but powerful bike chain ⛓️

My euc has honey comb "pedals" does that count? o.o I have bin on 2 of the big group rides in NYC in the last 2 years and coming from the burbs it was crazy cray cray. The 2nd one I went to was around 100 riders and it blew my mind. We definitely ran a few red lights😅 and had a few crashes and I got lost once but in the end it was worth it. I dont think I would do any big rides like that anytime soon but maybe next summer ill be back in tip top shape to ride some big groups maybe someplace other then NYC where the risk of becoming cab or bus paint is real high 😂 im just happy to be a short 2 weeks away from being cleared for full physical activity and riding anything since having surgery in june. I just keep watching videos but its never quite as fullfilling as hitting dirt trails or burning some rubber on the asphalt. Great video need more like this 👍
Organized motorcycle rides can have safety crew block traffic to keep the group together but it needs to be a certified ride and of course the motorcycles need to be street legal.

in Alabama e bikes e scooters e skateboards are street legal by law all you need is to be 16 years old with a valid drivers license and wear a helmet

i live in germany where it's super simple .
all pedelecs , meaning 250w motor ( no limit on torque ) no throttle and a motor cut off at 25kph.
the other category is a "speed pedelec" that allows for a top speed of about 45kph and must be registered , insured and license .
Up here in Boston, them biker boys don't care 10 or 20 bikes,gas powered dirt bikes totally illegal so I think I'll go with the pedal assist bike

You can get a Surron for 4K then cut the speed restricter to get around 50 - 60 and then buy a pedal kit for 200
For Michigan you moter can’t be more then 750 watts and can’t exceed 20 miles an hour but if you do that you can take them anywhere bike are permitted at the same time did you had peddles on it and slapped a sticker on not sure if they’d notice or not be safe brother

the cops in my city are pretty lenient, as long as you aren't a nuisance they let you ride. but the ebike laws here are so restrictive, anything going over 20mph is considered a motorized vehicle, so if you're riding like a clown, they will ticket, or even confiscate your bike

It's a double edged sword because it would actually be safer if you could ride faster if you're planning on riding with traffic The reason is you don't want to have a slow start when the light turns green and takes more than half a minute to reach your top speed of 20 mph. I'm not too sure about Sonoma county but in San Diego I'm allowed to ride with traffic and my eBike goes 31 mph. I'm very courteous to other drivers and always hug the left shoulder in case they want to pass. So I ride with traffic until I see a bike lane open up then I immediately get into the bike lane no matter what my speed.

You always have to wear a helmet 🪖
Your e-bike has to show the specs at a legible font ( don't cover up or remover the battery sticker basically )
You must obey ALL traffic laws ( no rolling through stop signs, riding against traffic, curb jumping for U-turns, wheelies ect. )

A full face helmet
Mirrors
A horn ( not a bell )
Patch kit or flat kit
