"Amara can revive the dead, but she can't create anything completly new. God has the opposite limit: He can destroy, but not completly erase." This I think is such a good and important answer that explains the synergy of the two very well.

My best theory is Chuck and Amara’s split is what set things in motion by creating life and Death came as a consequence to maintain balance. Amara didn’t know Death because she wouldn’t allow creation so Death wasn’t a thing but I’m sure he was watching in the background.

    • @alanguages

One problem with Amara "not knowing Death", was when she was being attacked and stated to Chuck, all the time she was imprisoned, she wished for "Death".
If she did not know Death, then she should not know the concept, nor the entity.
It would have been easier if she knew Death's real name, instead of the writers ignoring that glaring hole in their story.

I like the idea of the SPN god as a metaphor for the SPN writers. When someone dies, is born or reborn in SPN, it is actually the writers who are pulling the strings, not Chuck or Amara.
If you caught feelings for a character, it is the actor and the script and the team behind the scenes that you are feeling for. Like the shadows in Plato's cave, like our parents reading us bedtime stories... the writers pretend to be the bad guys by killing the characters we love - but those characters would never have existed without them. Damn, even Chuck is a writer.

There's one big problem with the idea of God and Amara being equals. Each alternate universe has relatively the same backstory as the main Supernatural universe, which is that God and the Archangels imprisoned Amara, Lucifer took the Mark, eventually gave it to Cain, and that Sam and Dean are descendants of Cain and Abel to be the perfect vessels for Michael and Lucifer to have their apocalyptic battle. We see AU Michael and AU Lucifer, which means one of two things:
    1) Amara has been imprisoned thousands of times, which proves she is weaker than Chuck or somehow unable to escape her fate in every universe.
    2) Amara is a new entity in every universe, created by Chuck to believe she is his equal.
Chuck lies. Chuck creates lies. Two of the archangels (Lucifer and Gabriel) are notorious liars. Michael ain't much better. It is easily possible that he felt it was more compelling a story if Amara were on par, if not stronger than him, and so he wrote her to think that and acted weaker than he is in order to have it happen.
Each universe has its own heaven and hell. We know this because otherwise the archangels would have known their alternate selves.
We also know that Death is unique in each AU. "In my universe, we locked death away and enslaved the reapers." Death thinks he's as old as God, Amara thinks she's as old as God. Maybe both were created under the same illusion.
In fact, this could be what happened to the Shadow. Why he was confused when Chuck was able to pull beings out of The Empty. Because he too is limited to the scope of this universe, where Chuck transcends.
It is my firm belief that in the Supernatural lore, based on Season 15, Chuck is infinitely more powerful than any other entity. Until Jack. Maybe. It's entirely possible that he let the brothers win this one, and this was all part of his story. Actors are just liars that we know are lying. Chuck is a liar. Chuck plays roles. Chuck might have considered this his grand finale. Or moved on to another universe. Or truly been defeated. It's hard to say.

    • @Mukation
      @Mukation 4 місяці тому +8

Or simply: The backstory of every universe is the same. Chuck just rewrote the following chapters (aka: Timelines branched after imprisoning Amara). That's why their backstory in the universes are all the same, but by the time we meet alternate Michael for instance, the timeline had diverged. And Amara was only released into the universe that mark was broken.
But in reality, SPN just rewrote and retconned so god damn much over the years.
Personally i had preffered if they actually had stuck to the reasoning Chuck had back in season 11, when he told Dean that for his "children" to grow up, he needed to walk away and him essentially setting up all the events in hopes that his children would grow beyond and defeat him, with a new "god" to still oversee them. I actually expected him to stop and smile and say to himself "good job, boys" when the brothers and Jack just left him and drove away.

You should make a vid around A fan theory how chuck may not be God but actually "the light". There's a lot of hints that chuck is tricking everyone into thinking that he's God even Amara but not death. The idea that the real God of that universe never reappeared yet and that chuck was just pretending makes the ending way more interesting. I also like the idea that death never died but faked it ad went some where on vacation, maybe to where ever real God as been.

But why would the Light give Sam and Dean what equates to immortality?
I genuinely like the idea, and I've said that i dont think Chuck was God, but god, if that makes sense. But i do think he is the christian god in a sense but i dont think hes the Big G.
Why else would there be ways to beat God? Even Death reaps God? I dont see that as the real God tbh. An angel is able to absorb his GOD power and become God in and of Himself? Its a bigggg reach. They've had angels attempt to play God, and it hasnt worked one time. Why is he any different? Because he's half human? Does that imply we are some form of Godly entities in the SPN lore?
I think the real God created Chuck and Amarra as opposites, so they can create and destroy while he observed or went elsewhere.

For me, the Shadow appeared as a part of the Empty or vice versa. It seems like an extremely passive force. Not like Amara or Chuck. Chuck creates, Amara destroys, the Shadow just exists. According to Billie, It's not as strong as the twins, but when Jack exploded, which was meant to kill the twins, it only pissed off the Shadow.
As for the intervention of the others in the Empty. At least I interpreted this way: Empty is the end of everything in the multiverse, although from creation Chuck can fish things out of it, but he does not enter it and does it quickly and immediately, which does not disturb the Shadow. Jack, on the other hand, was unconsciously doing half-work. He brought Castiel back to consciousness, but he couldn't bring him back to existence and it woke up/disturbed the Shadow. Which then intervened a little more actively in the events to prevent it from being disturbed again. It tried to get Jack's soul after he died so that what happened to Castiel would never happen again. He then teamed up with Billie to get rid of Chuck.
I may be wrong, but I believe that it was the Empty first, because it has no desires or goals other than not to be disturbed by teh existence, and perhaps it would have remained passive if Jack had not disturbed him with Castiel.
This was just my opinion, with which I tried to fix the many contradictions in the story in the past but I still love this series. It was a great video!

Here is something I've always been curious about with Chuck, there could have been at least 2 different versions of him in the show at the same time. The normal version where we see him in the entire series, then in like what season 4, season 5? The episode where Zachariah sends Dean to the future and Chuck is talking about hoarding toilet paper. Sure it's possible he could have just jumped to that future, but does he really do that though? It kind of seems like there was 2 different versions of him.

I've always been convinced that was nothing more than an illusion. Neither Zachariah or Michael knew who Chuck was so they wrote him 8nto their script.
Future Dean was early in S5 so the idea of Chuck as God was probably already floating around by then. So there were two versions of Chuck because one was a fake while the real one wad obfuscating their identity over the long-term.

No, chuck is omnipresent. He exists in all timeslines at once. This was kinda confirmed at the end when he started destroying every universe. We know there were alternate versions of everything else, like the arcangels and death (and by extension possibly alternate Amaras too since they're all under the impression it required 4 arcangels and God to imprison her in every timeline).
Every iteration of Chuck was the same guy simply acting. Remember they didn't have any idea at that point chuck was god

Ok this is from what I have seen and read the cosmology of Supernatural.
The Empty/shadow has always been there as it’s emptiness as even it said, “Before God and Amara. Creation Destruction Heaven and Hell your precious little earth. What was there?” Castiel, “Nothing”. Empty, “Yes nothing, nothing but empty.” Now as to it’s power. Billie said the empty’s power isn’t as great as Amara’s or God’s. But instead it’s vast and still stronger than at least a replacement Death like her. As the original Death was shown to be close to God’s power.
At some point Amara and God appeared marking the Beginning of Time. As but God and Amara said they were there at the Beginning. And Amara said the original Death only told Dean and Sam what they needed to hear to keep them from releasing her. Amara said God and her are twins. And yes they were one force but also had their own sentience. But likely Amara appeared first and God immediately after. Now their power. They are equals but in different way. They can do universe scale things. But God can create and destroy. But he can’t destroy like Amara. As he said some world take a snap some need more work to undo. So God’s true power is universal creation while Amara’s is universal destruction.
Death likely appeared as a direct result of Amara and God.
    God created the Archangels.
If anything was a direct result for the Amara, God, and Death is the Natural Order. The rules for everything. It could have been the ideas that lead to Amara and God appearing.
And it is also why God could die. When he made the world he had to write himself as a being within it. So it could function if he left. So by writing himself into reality he allowed the Natural Order to create ways for his possible demise. As Billie said the Books of Death write themselves. And yes God was immortal but the Books tell the life and circumstances of how someone will die.

    • @calvinsimpson1301
      @calvinsimpson1301 3 місяці тому +1

I actually think chuck created literally all of it, including the empty and Amara. The empty wasn't sure exactly how God was able to resurrect things from the empty- something he shouldn't have been able to do. We also know there were alternate versions of the arcangels all with the same backstory. They, along with God, teamed up to imprison the darkness. So either every version of every arcangel was required to beat a single Amara (in which case they would all be aware of their alternate versions- and they aren't), OR there are alternate versions of Amara, meaning she isn't omnipresent like God and he orchestrated every single story and every single version of Amara as well. He allowed Amara to *believe* they were equals, and that she was the older sibling. We know there are alternate versions of death as well (he specifically says at one point "in my universe"). Lastly, it seems apparent there's only one chuck. He has the ability to travel to any universe and says he created all of them and plans to destroy all of them. Why would he create a bunch of things that could eventually defeat him? Why would he write in his own weaknesses if he can see past, present and future?
The answer is he didnt. He allowed everyone to think he did. It was all a test, and it was to help his creations grow and learn. Jack is the new god- but god wasn't defeated. It was all part of his story

I think when Light and Dark split, forming God and Amara, Life and Death came into being immediately. Hence, Death’s persona doesn’t know which is really older because it was simultaneous. Destruction can’t exist without Life, and Creation can’t exist without Death. Yin and Yang. This is also why God can’t completely erase his creations, and Amara can’t create at all but can erase.

  • @dellmaxson2184

Also the video creator is not aware of what the empty is, the empty is not a death realm. In the video the creator says multiple times that only Amara can erase things, using metators defeat as a example.
The problem is that when you are erased you are turn to nothing and therefore you goto the empty.
The empty is literally the result of you being erased, you become apart of it in it's realm.

I forgot to note, but i wondered at this: Amara said in the beginning that it was just her and God. But perhaps their memories were blocked up to a certain point, so they are led to believe this so as for Their Creator to remain unknown as Their Creator desired... I mean, think of this: What came first? The question itself is required for several aspects, because if God and Amara did come first, then that means even The Empty and Death would have been created by God. I point this out, because if God did not create The Empty and/or Death himself, then that means whatever created God and Amara also created other aspects of the Universe, such as The Empty, Death, but perhaps even other things, like the other so-called Deities, Heaven, even the concept of Time/Space/Matter? The Empty, a place where even Angels are sent to. So, did God create the Empty, or is The Empty from something other than God and Amara, which could perhaps lend credence to the concept of creating God and Amara, the two halves to the concept of Creation and Destruction, Life and Death

Perhaps God and Amara are merely the embodiments of Creation and Destruction, so what if they are merely the Materialization of The Concept, and such other beings-such as Death and Emptiness- are also Concepts that Materialized for the betterment of its' own Conceptual Existence.

as far as Chuck and the Darkness needing to exist at the same time that does make Sam Winchester of the main Universe the worst person in all the Multiverse he was willing to destroy creation just because he was upside over Jack being k!l1ed if The Equalizer had worked everything would have been destroyed

I never liked making Chuck the enemy. The shadow or lucifer powered by the Shadow is what I thought would happen. I thought it would have been better if Chuck wasn't God. Just a prophet, but if you watch carefully in the background you would see a person over and over. And that would have been the real God watching over things.

See one thing I think would actually be really cool lore to add is if the darkness did create something and that being the shedim and you could say them reason she did was as a response to Gods Archangels and because they were literally created by the darkness that why God created Hell and not allow them into light because of terrible they were and it would also explain why even Lucifer feared them and didn’t want them out.

1:42 i think that the FIRST death is one of two things is a Multiversal Death, the reason why i think this is because he is in the Main Time line, and i think that everything from THIS TIMELINE is tor most Canon, and he came to this one and just let a replacement in every other one, because he wants to see why God thinks this is the finest one. The other Possiblity is he is Just a Fragment of the true self, like Darksied but not evil. This would exemplaim why he his the easeist Primordial to kill, or if is the first one he just have to more weak rule to die, but even then he coun´t be killed by any other mean, snap from lucifer, god or even amara could not kill him.

The show can seem jumbled up but i am amazed at how you were able to put it into words. The last part of things getting out of control would make more sense for God to start over instead of him getting disappointed and moving on like the show said multiple times. I find that when told in a cohesive way, it is far better writing than the show going on multiple reasons why something happened. It can be quite confusing. Honestly sounds like you could make some awesome fanfiction or flesh out the story well. I would totally be game for that.

I don't know why, but I agree 100% with this theory. Not a bad theory in reality either, I mean if it all started because there IS an actual natural force of potential creation and destruction, it sounds really natural to me.

I had a theory god won and still have his power god wanted jack to be the new god because he said he knows what would happen before it happened so he knew the brother would not kill him when he was weak and he probably had a decent amount of his power hidden.
That why jack didn't since god power and he just wants on writing his new story.

It doesnt make sense that God created the arcangels to imprison the darkness, but also that every single universe have their own arcangels but only one God that created all universes. That would imply one of a few things:
    1. every universe has a different Amara, meaning shes definitely not Chucks equal
    2. God created possibly an infinite number of alternate universe arcangels that were all required to beat one Amara, in which case every version of the arcangels would be aware of their alternate versions, and that doesnt seem to be the case.
    3. God literally orchestrated all of it. He created Amara. She isnt his equal at all, but part of creation. Something created as his companion and sister- allowing her to believe they were equals and that she was the older sibling. He created an Amara for every set of arcangels he also created. Hes omnipotent and omnipresent and Amara isnt. The ending we got in the show where he was "defeated" was all part of the plan to help his children grow and allow Jack to have the responsibility of being the new God.
I like the last explanation. It would explain how he could possibly create a "god killing gun" or create things willingly that could ever potentially kill him despite being omnipotent. He didnt. Nothing was ever a threat to him. He was never weakened or challenged. He may have also created the empty which is why he still had dominion over it, which the entity didnt think was possible.

I think you are close but God, Amara and the Empty are all related. God and Amara separated from 'the Potential' leaving the Empty. Think of it like God as the paint, Amara as the turpentine, and the Empty as the Canvas.
edit: as for Death. with Amara locked away (a perfect turpentine), death was created which is like an eraser. It can rub out creation but it becomes a blob, not completely erased.
