Simon & Garfunkle did thecoriginal back in the 60's. Disturbed did it about 50 yrs later. Disturbed and David's voice blew itvout of the ballpark!!! Best cover in the history of music ❤️❤️❤️

Paul Simon was WAY ahead of his time in the writing of this song. I believe that David Draiman's vocal build-up and facial expressions perfectly convey the message that Paul's initial "warning" was not heeded and look where it got us. Powerful beyond belief...

This song was (and is) for everyone...... Call it a prophecy from the past too the present......I believe this song was written in 1963 two years before I was born...... Giving us a warning of what was coming etc.... And then Disturb is now telling us the time has come and is right here with us now etc..... I believe it's talking about electronics... Technology.... Games.... Videos etc.... And how People no longer communicate with one another in person etc...,. They have left their Dreams and Everything Else Behind , theres no more human contact it is now the "Neon Lights" ELECTRONICS,.... And theres OUR SIGN...... Best Song Ever!!!!!!!!

technology...yes. perhaps television in '64 when this was written and cell phones today? we don't talk anymore....side walks even have lanes for phone users....our necks are going to pay a price. I like the idea of "leave your phone at the door", but people are too addicted to do it. I imagine the insanity that would hit with an EMP attack.

You’re right, he didn’t let it completely finish. Also, the sound of silence from all those instruments for the first few seconds at the beginning of the track was so important to set the mood, as they slowly wake up their true sound.
