Dang Jack, I want one. I had the next generation Jeep Wagoneer (1971-360 Buick, 4bbl Rochester Carb) That thing will pull anything, and climb over anything. By the way the holes next to the lights were blanked out There was nothing there but a cover. In the military there were used to carry small weapons like rifles, ammunition, etc" we called them Weps (short for Weapon Carrier). Great find, I'm jealous, everything where I live is all rusty. When I had my Wagoneer I lived in NY and that was kind of rusty, from the salt they put on the roads in the winter. You picked a great ride. It's a great first truck, if you want to put 33's on it you're going to have to put a mild lift, maybe 3", you'll have to change the gear ratio's to match the tires, so I wouldn't change the rear end until you're sure of the tire size.
Thanks! I think we may start with some 31s
That would look BOSS 4 Wheeler for Jack. Maybe in the future put a lift kit, big tires, roll bar with lights.👍😁
WATTA KID!!!!!!! SUCH ENTHUSIASM AND THIS SURE BEATS VIDEO GAMES EVREY DAY
Thank You
Jack i believe the Jeep pick you. It started out as a father and son and now it will succeed in sprite as a father and son project. God Bless y'all. Looking forward to seeing this to the end.
Thanks!
Had 3 of those Jeep pickups. Loved the grilles.
Kent, young Jack made you melt ! --- It was the flares, right ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bless You Guys ! -- Thanks For Allowing Us Into Your Family --- Please Pray For The USA
Lol It wasn’t hard to talk me into it
@@SpeedBumpGarage You're a Great Dad !
I really enjoyed this video, what a great young man you are raising, can't wait to see more !
Cheers 🇨🇦
Thank you!
I like it Jack, it's you all the way!
Thanks!
This is gonna be fun watching you two get this on the road..have fun you two..take care
Thanks!
Perfect. Jack found a true gem. An old school desert camo paint job would look great on it.
That is a pretty good idea! Thanks for watching
Watched your interview with Derek just started watching your videos that a fine young man your raising
Ok another edition of Speed bump Garage
Thanks for watching!
Wonderful memories!! Go for it!
Great first truck! 31s will hit on the leaf springs. 30s are best.
Thanks!
Great video. Looks like a nice father/son project. Must be in the southwest, most old Jeep pickups are rusted away.
It looks like a pretty solid rig. We are in Oklahoma
I had a 71 J2000 for years! One tough old bird!
That is good to hear! I’m sure Jack will put this one to the test
I had a J 10 I had a 300 or 258 six cylinder and I pulled it out and put a popped up little 360 in there and I loved that truck. Awesome truck jack.
Epic episode. Can’t wait to see Jack work on his new rig. Bfg KO 33x10.50x15’s would be perfect on it.
I’m not sure he can afford BFGs lol. He better start saving his pennies
Looks good to me I like the Buick engine worker at dealership for years
We like them too!
Well praise the Lord that is good for your son I'm glad that he got a chance to pick what he wanted I think it would make him happy and you happy also God bless you and him I like your videos man God bless bye Juan Fuentes all the way from Joplin Missouri
Thanks!
I had a J20 truck that would go anywhere, with the quadratrac. Those dauntless Buick 350 engines were tough. Great first truck for Jack!
Thanks! I hope it’s a good one
l had a ford F250 wen l was 18
J30 is 3/4 ton j20 is half ton we just restored one. Some parts are hard to find for it. especially tailgates good luck can’t wait to see you guys get working on it. If you have any questions message me, and if you want a newer look the one pc. Aluminum grills fit right over that front end and covers up those openings on the core support.
Hey Joe! Thanks for the info. This one says J3000, is that a 3/4ton?
@@SpeedBumpGarage yes it is and you can use a lot of the jeep wagoner for parts too. That’s a great heavy duty truck/ tank lol there is a guy who restores those instrument gauge package if it needs done.
In 1969 the J3000 refers to the wheelbase length not the payload capacity. In 1974 they were changed to J10 and J20 which refers to the payload capacity. I own a 73’ J4000 which just means it is the 132” wheelbase.
@@immeasurablymore Thanks for the info!
I think it would be a great truck for Jack.Looks like most of the engine and front end parts are there so I don't think it would take too much to be road worthy except the issue with the rear end.Maybe too,the green one that you got running from there might be a second option. As always,a great will it start video.
Thanks Neil!
In this day and age kids his age don’t work as hard as he does he deserves that anymore he seems like a very good Kid
I know he will work hard on it
@@SpeedBumpGarage ANDKEEP HIS SCHOOLWORK UP TOO AND CHORES
Bluetooth spark plug wires - that was an awesome comment! And I think Jack said it too, in a later video!
For the last 15 yrs my wife has been looking for a jeep pick-up......great find
Absolutely love the content. Can't wait to see more on this truck.
Well, that later one (not to mention Cherokees & Wagoneers) sitting nearby would have a plethora of bolt on upgrade parts. Disc brakes. Rear axle. Interior goodies... interchangeability is your friend, Jack!
We were definitely liking the disc brakes on the later one! Thanks for watching
Congrats Jack ! It's going to be great !
What a great find, of course it will be a fantastic truck for Jack. At least it's got some real metal in it. I'd put 31's on it. Quite the story to go with it, not something you find every day.
The note made me way more excited!
Not a jeep fan at all but, I would love to have one like that!! Jack has a good eye!! A for sure fix er uper!
I think it was a good choice also! Thanks for watching
That's a great truck Jack👍🏼
Sorry I’m late to the party, just found your channel 3 days ago. My wife and I love your videos and Jack is an awesome kid, reminds me of my son at that age.
That’s going to be a great truck for Jack. I sure regret not doing more of this with my son when he was that age.
Thanks 👍 Jack is really excited to get back on this one
Congratulations Jack that will be a cool truck!
Thanks!
Nice oldest boy cute in cover alls❤❤
Great truck find. Your son is right...lol. Wish I had it !! God bless. J 30..one ton....J 20 3/4 ton.
Go for it Jack. Proud of you😊❤
Jack is such a COOL kid , wished I had one like him. I only had a girl , she was not interested in cars at all. Your sir are LUCKY to have 2 boys
That old Jeep definently has potential as the body and mechanicals are sound. Your biggest challenge appears to be the differential which can be rebuilt for a minimal cost as compared to buying a good used truck from a dealer. I have a 1966 Jeep J - 2000 that was my Dad's and is still my plow truck in winter and I had to do a whole lot more work to it than you will have to do to yours. Should make a great Dad/Son project. Good luck with it !
Thanks Phillip
That thing is nice
Thanks!
Just found u guy’s awesome love m kaiser Jeeps OIIIIO
We need to go finish rescuing this old truck!
Love you guys!!
She's a keeper I gayrontee.
Great project for you and your son Jack this will make a great truck for him my brother restored one exactly like it Buy the other Jeep.
We are trying to!
Your son has a good eye!
He sure does
3 min in , my guess is a 70 or 71 with a 350 buick motor. My dad had a 71 wagoneer , actually said 350 buick on the air cleaner. Love them old jeeps
That is a perfect father-son project Jack deserves that truck and I think it would be perfect for what he wants to do on his adventure of trapping and hunting God bless him
It will be a good setup for him for sure. Thanks for watching
It's great that Jack was able to pick his own first truck. It looks like a good father and son project.
Thanks!
He'll probably have a classic vehicle for every day of the week by the time he gets his license!
I'm 58 years old I remember those when I was in high school they were cool then they were cool now
Not many around anymore!
Cool truck. Kaiser did not build their own engines, thats why you'll find either a Buick 350 or Buick V6, AMC 327 or AMC straight six in them.
Thanks! I didn’t know that. I’m pretty happy with the Buick
20 years ago I bought a 1/2ton Ford 6 cylinder automatic from a auction for my son. Where he and I could work on it together. He lost interest so i had to finish it by myself.
When he got of age, I let him take his driver's test in it. He drove it for o few years then traded it in on a Ram 1ton duley. I looked forward for him to work on it with me, but it never happened.
That's too bad. I hope Jack sticks with this one.
That boy has a good taste in trucks
I think so too!
She's been sitting there waiting to be reawakened again, it's time to continue the honor of the father-son project 🛻🛻
That's the plan!
Need ep 2 🔥🔥
I want to hear Scott. Lol
That jeep is a Comanche. They were jeeps go to truck back in the 70/80s .
jeep with a buick and gm turbo hydro trans and they used alot of gm parts in that transition ..................first thing is to get the trans flushed and the gearsets matched .......good project no more than 1k for it.....
Thats the plan! Thanks for watching
@@SpeedBumpGarage might see too if a junkyard HEI fits the motork
You need to save that note to frame or stick in a scrapbook. That's going to be an amazing first truck for Jack! Congratulations!
I think so too! The note was my favorite part
@@SpeedBumpGarage do a search for the owners and have the kid do a report on it for school, inventory all the parts and lock up that grille its worth alot and the marker lights fit up to 87 or so
VERY VERY COOL..GREAT PROJECT FOR YOU 2...HAYY,HAUL 300LB WATERMELON NEXT YEAR..STAY AWESOME..
I’m sure that truck will be hauling a lot of watermelons in a few years.
I look forward to watching "Trapper Jack" fix this monster up. It may take until you are 16!!
I’m sure it will be a work in progress for a long time. Thanks for watching
The truck ought to be a great for Jack's first vehicle. Believe it would be easier to find the 9 inch stump with the matching ratio over repair parts for a posi dana. Or you could buy a ring and pinion and a locker for the 9 inch that you already have
If it is a 28 spline the owner of that salvage yard has a complete 9” third member I can buy! That will most likely be our solution for now
Oh my gosh Kent. What a great video. Great jeep for GrowJack. I can’t wait to see more videos on this. By the way, you channel and GrowJack’s channel are the only ones I suffer through the adds for. Ha. 💙
Thanks Sandy!
Jack is a much btr worker and does more than most grown men.
I have the military version of that truck, M715 Kaiser Jeep. Primitive as hell, but it’s been a great fun project.
You sould get the other Jeep Truck for parts,
You will never know how much you will treasure this time with your son
We have a lot of fun!
Great job! Reminds me of my Dad showing me how stuff worked in the garage!!
It's good to see father and son working together. It's hard to tell which one is more excited about the truck. Sounds like a good project for Jack with your help. Can't wait to see the restoration of this truck. That note was a bonus. Take care and stay safe out there. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.
lol it didn't take much for him to talk me into it! I am always excited to work on something different.
31'as are best for your kid and he is smart to choose a jeep!
I think 31s will be perfect!
That's a great truck for Jack. You'll be able to make a wonderful 4x4 for him! Love to see this build!
We are excited about it! Thanks for watching
@@SpeedBumpGarage CJ rims from 5 or 7's fit perfectly
0:05 Please tell me that bullnose Ford in the background also got revived! Two awesome trucks! Also makes me wanna watch Twister again.
One by one I will save as many as I can! Twister was filmed not far from us!
@@SpeedBumpGarage I wore several VHS's of that movie out as a kid. Still watch it sometimes to this day, digitally, have it saved on my PC.
If that J-20 ever gets repainted it's hard to argue against the yellow pinstripe livery from the movie....

Nice truck jack will have alot of fun driving it
That is a good truck to fix it 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😇😇🙏🙏
Thanks!

Those Jeeps were terrific get yourself a set of of 32 gumbos and you're exactly right with the Chrome Steel wagon wheels change out the seat get yourself some buckets in a console take out the AM radio put in a nice stereo add new speakers to the doors in behind the seats Above All Else you're going to need to take out that work box and put in a roll bar
Thanks! It sounds like your to do list is pretty spot on!

You're a terrific dad this is something that Jack is going to remember for the rest of his life how you two together rescued this old truck and brought it back to life and wow what a nice truck to rescue
I think it's a good first vehicle for a young man
I think so too!
Start with 31. Then go to 33 s Good job getting it running. Definitely get it going for the boy. Let him do most the work. U know . What he can do. He ll. Learn an when he starts driving. He will take better care of it. Good job O. Front grill Hard to find Keep. Em going.
Thanks! 31s would probably look pretty good
Ralphie on sleeper dude 2 it's only 10 years old and he has a Corvette it's giving him for his birthday by one of the viewers
Wow! That would be awesome

Woohoo! Love those old Jeep pickups! What a great first vehicle for Jack! Awesome, can’t wait to see the progress on this one!
Thanks for watching!
@@SpeedBumpGarage swap in a later 350 HEI dizzy and a 10si Alternator new rad of course .................
@@rsprockets7846 I will have to see if someone makes a HEI for the Buick 350
27:12 I would go ahead and ditch the automatic for a wide ratio 4-speed manual or 5-speed manual....not only will he have more fun rowing his own but it will all but guarantee none of his friends ever ask to borrow the thing since they won't know how to do it...and slide that Dana 60 back underneath it after a PROPER overhaul. Engine seems to run good but it clattered a bit; I'd like to see oil pressure checked on it before committing to putting it back in service. Those Buick 350s are not the most commonplace of engines and it does no good to grenade that one ignoring a potential bottom end issue that could easily be fixed now. Beyond that, I would put air con in it, a kick-ass FM radio, give it any repairs it needs to be roadworthy, and let it buck!
As for wheels and tires...NASCAR style 15x7 wrapped in a Goodyear Wrangler 235/75R15 nylon belted M+S will get Jack anywhere he has any business going without making the truck any more unstable than it already is. Should be the OEM size of tire even. I use these same tires on my bullnose F-series trucks and, even with open 8.8s in the back and no drive at all in the front, I can get them places on those tires they have no right going! Snowy roads? They love it. Sand? Air down and rock it. ALSO, these tires cost nothing, are incredibly durable, last forever...perfect tire. He'll love the super super plush ride they give, too.
Thanks! It’s funny you said that about the 235/75/15 wranglers because I seriously just priced that exact tire for my Willy’s Jeep yesterday!
@@SpeedBumpGarage Ye those are legit one of the best light truck tires money can buy. I love them. I've been running them on my 85 F150 since I bought it in 2007; previous owner had a set on it and I've always replaced with same.
Throw a set on that Willys I bet they'll win ya over.
It's a keeper western mirrors all the way another great video
I agree! Thanks for watching
I have a 1970 J 4000
Awesome!
That will make Jack a great truck

Looks like Grow Jack has found his first truck!
I think so!
Its great to see a young man or young women wanting to learn
That's great for you guys! The story behind it and Jack picking up on that it was supposed to be a father/son project and wanted to complete it that way. Best of all we will get to see it and you'll will have a video record of it
We are pretty excited about it!
Whatever happened with this truck? I see no other videos on this project, and this does look very cool.

Awesome the father and son truck is finally coming true for it and I'm sure your son is going to be one happy boy
I hope so!
Love the Gladiators!! Not everybody's style but i think the turbine wheels with some 31s would be sweet!
Yes, the turbines and 31s. I think you nailed it!
I think so too! I bet 31s will probably look pretty big on that little truck too!
@@SpeedBumpGarage naw 15 by 8 wagon wheels with 31s RWL tires
My friend's dad also had a '71 Wagoneer with the 350/350 combo. It was painted by the factory in GM Lime Gold, which Jeep used only in '71. Same year as and same paint color as my grandfather 's Nova.
Awesome!
Very cool jeep. Love the front slant
Thanks!
We all have to preserve some of or history. The government seems hell bent on destroying it.
How many cars does Jack own now????
My oldest son got an old delivery 6 cyl Chevy half ton pick up from my auto parts store. I bought two and my wife drove one. Good reliable rigs. First thing son did was put in a sound system.
Your son is a fast learner and this’ll make a great project. Sweat equity is a good thing! Good luck from Alaska.
