I watch a lot of guitar videos on youtube and very few make me grab a guitar. WELL DONE, can't wait for the next video while I work out my pinkie.

    E major is E-F#-G#-A-B-C#-D#
So the first note of the scale shape on the A string as demonstrated would be frets: 2(B), 4(C#), 6(D#), 7(E), 9(F#), 11(G#), 12(A), this would give you your 7 modes 👍

Come for a video about a scale, essentially get a bonus lesson in music theory. Love it!

Long ago I suggested something along the lines of this video when you were asking for ideas about guitar instructional content. I totally forgot about that from several years ago but lo and behold here we are! I’m trying this as soon as I can!

That was really good. You shed a new light for me. After 50 years of playing guitar that's very cool.

The minor at the end being natural minor. Great scale. Melodic and harmonic are useful too, but not used as often.

This is not about a certain scale as much as about an approach to scales if I understand it correctly.
I could be in any drop tuning as well, and start any scale in the 4. Box fitting to the drop tuning-drone ur in as root.
That’s what I’m doin at least 😅 but still struggle to keep the scales “accessable if wanted” usually I mix stuff up or even stay away natural minor (just too comfy with it 😭) 😂😂

Ps it gets worse than that im left handed too 🤣

it's the major scale of E. If you want to follow along, try slowing the video down. I understand you like to rely on diagrams or tabs, but try to just copy Rob and repeat. 😊

Why in 2025 would you give the tuning notes .. ppl did this in the 80s on vhs instruction tapes 😂

Maybe Rob is being gracious enough to include the absolute beginner. Why make a useless comment like that just because you know how to tune your guitar
