- ⭐️Hello everyone, this video shows some fictional buildings / structures (Movies, series, video games ...). Obviously not all, only some more prominent. Some buildings have been left out because they are impossible to measure, or because they are in real life. Buildings that have a margin of error (±) are measured by myself.

I like the fact that it's next to a real world city, gives us an actual sense of scale
This is a classic feature of the channel, mayne the one that leeps me coming back to see what is posted next.
It also really helps show how overly simply how of the biggest buildings seem. Minas Tirith has all these details of smaller buildings all around it, but then the Senate Building and stuff are just big round solid shapes that look insane given how detailed the city around them looks.

@@an1m8r Hey now, Minas Tirith is a city, it's supposed to have several houses and stuff on it. The Senate is a single building planned with a design and a function in mind. You don't see many buildings as rich in detail as Minas Tirith, do you?
Fun Fact: The Citadel (Half Life 2) actually goes down very far, even further down than the Citadel core. Obviously we never get to see the very low levels but it is crazy to find out how deep it goes.
i believe this showed how far above ground, not below. and as one of half lifes biggest fans, i want to know what kind of Aperture Science Laboratories scale facility they've got going on down there

The HL2 Citadel is one of the most ominous visuals in any video game. It feels artificial, alien, and oppressive, and the fact that you only see it from a distance for most of the game makes it even more ominous. And when you are in the citadel and start ascending towards the top and you see the city below, with only the city lights visible, it sells the scale of the Citadel perfectly.
Get the same feeling in little nightmares 2 with the signal tower. But unlike hl2 the signal tower you don’t see the outside until chapter 4. But I like how the citadel is one of the first things you see in hl2 just after you leave the Train station

The citadel from Half Life 2 is actually roughly around the same height as the International Space Elevator because the model you used (While being from the actual game.) has been scaled down to just barely go over clouds, adding its real height above the clouds, as well as the thousands of feet/meters it has going underground it may even be taller!

Also, all of them go underground, every building needs a foundation, things are measured from ground to top, not underground to top.

I had no idea that the Imperial Palace people were talking about this whole time was actually the former Jedi Grand Temple after conversion. It still looked fine on outside but I can't imagine what Palpatine had done to the inside.
I imagine he had it fumigated.
Well I heard he purposely have removed the ornaments of the hall and pillars, the statues and all the carpets floor ...
Imperial paternity, Palpatine tried to teach Darth Vader how to be a good Emperor but he was too affected so he was sent to a private school and Palpatine's new wife moved into the palace.... Sadly, years later, the divorce ended with half the temple lost in favor of the wife and Palpatine was forced to steal goverment funs to fullfill his luxuries, what made a cheap manufacturer would be the main productor of what later was known as the most defective imperial blasters in the universe.

I just played Subnautica the other day, and technically the Quarantine Enforvement Platform also includes the parts below the ocean surface, which would make it considerably larger than the model in this video
Same about many other buildings in the video. I think including this parameter wouldn't be fair, since we don't have data about the other structure 's foundation dimensions.
Things are measured from ground to top, not underground to top...
Even without the underground bit, the quarantine enforcement platform would still be much taller with the gun extended.
Need the Warhammer 40K Imperial Palace on this list.
The build limit of minecraft is higher then monsters inc. Therefore their should be a full size replica of monsters inc in minecraft.
Somebody has done it, I am sure. The amount of time some people put into that game...

Anyway you can get the correct scale for the citadel from just extracting the model from the game and making it 16x larger (objects in the source engine 3D skybox are projected to look enlarged by that size by default)

thanks for including the Glass Tower. Towering Inferno is overlooked these days; it's not a great disaster movie, but it's better than some of the newer stuff, IMHO.

This is great! If it ever gets revisited, it would be great to see Scrooge McDuck's Vault "The Money Bin" included in the list as he is widely considered the second richest fictional character of all time. At 59 meters tall it would come in right after Cinderella's Castle.

Santa Claus was on Forbes list of the Fictional 15 for years until they took him off when kids wrote in to insist he's not fictional (Scrooge McDuck became number one on their list that year).
I don't know why, but seeing the two space elevators from Halo and Ace Combat towering over everything else together made me really happy.

The largest Hive City can house more than 10x the current population of Earth. Even crammed in like sardines, such a city would dwarf anything on this list!
The Imperial Palace is a lot bigger then that because it pretty much covers the entire european continent and it even extends into what was the atlantic ocean.

Basicly any building thats 256 Meters or smaller can be made in minecraft.
