Trevor, thank you so much for your continued interest for letting the fans in on what goes on inside the mind of a major league pitcher. You’re awesome dude! Keep working at it…. But make sure you enjoy your off season too! 😎
I love baseball and gaming. I played for a long time and still avidly watch. This is a great video to show younger pitchers to show them how little things can impact the big picture. Thanks for sharing!
Love these videos man, just shows why baseball is one of the most fascinating sports! It's the little details like this that give you a competitive edge. Will absolutely be cheering you on even as a cubs fan
My takeaways from this. 1) Keep the tap of the glove as that is the constant 2) Do you feel posting this, is a "tip"? 3) YES! A pro making videos for us plebs to enjoy and get even MORE insight as to what goes through the mind of a MLB player/pitcher. Thank you for this video. I really did enjoy it. I played from the age of 9 to 23 and miss it EVERY day. I'm now 41 and can barely throw a ball without possibly throwing my back out lmao.
Hey Trevor, great video! Loved you on the Rose Rotation. looking forward to catching some streams of yours during the offseason. wishing the best for you. LETS GO!
This is what I'm talking about! A whole video that just explains one baseball term. Thank you for making it. Before watching this video, I asked myself "What is a tipping pitch?" and I couldn't even think of a logical reply.
I found out I was tipping my pitches in high school. Turned out they could read my throw-it-pretty-slow-and-try-to-at-least-get-it-in-the-zone pitch because I threw that every time I threw a baseball. We... were not good.
Been a really long time since I have watched some sort of baseball related content and actually gained knowledge regarding an aspect of the game. Awesome video man, sending love from Boston!
I remember years ago watching Nolan Ryan do a 'reverse' tip. He'd thrown two blazing fastballs, and then he pulled his leg up just a tiny bit higher and grunted on a changeup. Batter was way, way out in front. I actually tried that in a back yard game once and the guy nearly jumped out of his shoes.
Dude my favorite thing in the world was when you should show up to a game and look in the bullpen and see the pitcher tipping pitches in the pen. Gonna be a good day.
Yo Trevor, you were my starting pitcher on my diamond dynasty team when The Show 21 came out. Sorry to say you're not any longer in my bullpen buut I think I got like parallel 3 with you. :)
How hard mentally was to get used to that change? I can imagine it would be kinda hard to mentally remember not to do those little corks like lifting your leg up slowly or closing the gap between glove and stomach.
Honestly, this change was extremely comfortable immediately. It’s not always like that, but when you’re simplifying as opposed to added a quirk or something, it’s a little easier I think.
do you think the change in delivery point can lead to more injuries like what happen with Joey when he was tipping the churve and he made his delivery point more consistent since the churve was being released an inch higher than his fastball. it seem that there was something to it and maybe it why he tore his arm up real good soon there after or is that just a fluke and injuries can occur for any reason at any time more or less
I don't know if you'd be interested in covering this, but I'd love to see a professional explain why Kenly Jansen isn't balking when he's shifting his hips like that before his delivery. Because I always thought he should be considered set as soon as his hands come together, but that's not the call he gets. Any insights?
I wonder if pitchers sometimes "tip" on purpose just to throw off the batters in a future spot???? Or course you could have taken the Mariano approach and throw the same pitch no matter what and tell the batter there is nothing you can do about it... Thanks for the video.
Hey Mr May, is this something your catcher can see if you tip as well? Or is it a lot harder for them to pick up you tipping the pitch because they are focused on so many other things?
When you found out that you were tipping pitches did you ever consider purposely tipping a certain pitch then throwing a different one? probably wouldn't work for more than an inning but I think it'd be funny to see.
Why not use the tip to your advantage and conciously change it up? Meaning, instead of tipping a breaking ball, use it on a fast ball and really mess with their mind, especially in a crucial situation.
It's great that you do your own research and correct your delivery but shouldn't the pitching coach and others on the Mets coaching staff pick up on your tipping of pitches before you did. The Cubs figured it out from the bench. Hopefully the organization recognizes this and brings in competent staff for next season and especially conditioning coaches so the team does not deal with all of the injuries they had this season.

last time i got into a pitcher named trevor's youtube content his career ended like the next week so hopefully this one doesn't disappoint
I love baseball and gaming. I played for a long time and still avidly watch. This is a great video to show younger pitchers to show them how little things can impact the big picture. Thanks for sharing!
Love this style of video . Really cool insight into the small parts of the game that not a lot of fans think about much

Wow this is awesome content man, need more videos like this. Great to see what kind of film you gotta go through and analyze
Hey Trevor, great video! Loved you on the Rose Rotation. looking forward to catching some streams of yours during the offseason. wishing the best for you. LETS GO!
I've got your Twins jersey. Now I need to get the Mets jersey. You're a beast Trevor. Love hearing you talk the intricacies of pitching!
Another great vid. Keep it up Trevor.
I like this inside baseball type of video. The analysis and correction of subtle things is really interesting to watch
Lesson learned: in baseball, as in life, you can get taken advantage of when you get a reputation as a big tipper
Really cool insight, Trevor. Great video and thanks for a great year! Looking forward to watching you pitch again in 2022.
You should do more breakdowns of your pitching performances, love this stuff, love the channel. 👍

Watching this video a year later sounds so weird to hear Rizzo, Baez, and Bryant being the core of the Cubs
This was fun and interesting. Thanks :)
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
Wow, thats a lot of work I never realized you had to do!
10:49 look at me I’m fired up 😂
This was fascinating. Really cool to get this type of insight into a pitcher's mind
Im glad! Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to hear about!
Awesome video this was super interesting look awesome to see you bounce back the next day the way you did!

Fantastic stuff, TM. Love these kinds of breakdowns

We miss you in Minnesota still. hope your doing well.

Cool stuff Trev, please do more! 👍
The break down and the thought process is amazing, thank you
My pleasure!
Baez was pissed, swatting at the catcher after he tagged him 😂
This is a great post, thank you!
Work on that D! You are elite.
Love it, keep up the grind!
Love this type of content!
How am I just now finding out about this channel?? This is awesome.
I love to hurl w/ Trevor May in the Show. EZ closes. Trev May, can't wait to see you sling this year!
I’m absolutely in love with your content man. You explain things better than my professors lol
Trevor may when he's on is insane
Yo Trevor, you were my starting pitcher on my diamond dynasty team when The Show 21 came out. Sorry to say you're not any longer in my bullpen buut I think I got like parallel 3 with you. :)
Thank you for this content this is brilliant
Nice work Bro..... Do your catchers ever help out with the Tipping?
Thank you for letting the fans peek behind the curtain. I love stuff like this.

That’s what she said
Could you do a breakdown of Tyler Matzek vs. the Dodgers? Would love to hear your take on that situation.
Did you watch the Braves/ astros game 2? I think fried might have been tipping, maybe you can cover that too?

Great video!
Man, the hand-eye these athletes have is unreal. It’s a split second decision wether you swing or not!
I would just ask Javy if you haven't about that series. I'm sure he will tell you if you were tipping before he became your teammate!
Love your videos man! Hopefully we can meet next season. I collect autographs.
Interesting video. I just wonder if you have ever intentionally given a batter "false tipping" to confuse the batter?
Good video, that was good content.
Trevor you’d look really good in a Cardinals uniform.
I don't think I would ever play poker with a baseball player if they know that much nuance with tipping

Seems like pitchers should be able to sic the Reddit investigators and they will do all the comparisons in a night haha
Great stuff! Did you get express written consent from Major League Baseball?
Of cooooouuurse…
Lol…. Nice.
For something like this, how often do you talk with other pitchers on the staff about it? Do you check with them and ask if they notice anything?
Anyone else notice javy swipe at the catchers glove on the tag lol
And this is real content!!
Buddy, good stuff
Hey Mr May, is this something your catcher can see if you tip as well? Or is it a lot harder for them to pick up you tipping the pitch because they are focused on so many other things?
In exactly 6 months, it's gonna be May
video actually starts at 2:50 for anyone wondering
Speaking of tipping pitches, Trevor Williams does it too, let him know.
Giants fun here this is really cool
The Meta can use some help in the pen. Just sayin'... 😁 You were SO good.
Trevor and Marcus fielding sessions??
good self scout man
I don’t like the Mets, but I like you Trev
How do I stop cutting my fastball
You and Marcus must have a great relationship with your love for content
For shertin?

Did you like playing for the braves?
When you found out that you were tipping pitches did you ever consider purposely tipping a certain pitch then throwing a different one? probably wouldn't work for more than an inning but I think it'd be funny to see.

Hey I’m Mets fn

I was curious about that myself. If that each inning or every other change the tipping
Are you a free agent

Awesome video! Talk to Jomboy media!
Love to see it
cool!
Do you think that body language experts could help?
Your eyebrows are aggressive
Some say too aggressive
Your camera shaking is by far the most annoying thing on UA-cam
Man, that’s sucks man, I’m so sorry
*No one cares about Trevor May or what he has done in the MLB*
