It’s so cool to see a professional athlete give so much props to other guys and even get excited to watch them. You can really tell how much he loves the game
I just love watching Tyler Rogers' slider when he's throwing it right. I mean, that final location would be hard to hit even without the movement. But on top of that, the pitch starts at the complete opposite corner of the strikezone and has you starting to lean out towards it almost the whole way in, and then whips up and in where you have no chance to get back to it. His pitching style and the totally unique movement it gives his pitches is certainly a factor, but it's not like teams that see him a lot automatically figure him out. He pitched in 7 games against the Dodgers this year (a couple of which were quite rough), but pitched 3.1 scoreless innings against them in the playoff series, pitching in 4 out of the 5 games. His submarine style and low velocity also seem to help his durability, as he's led the NL in pitching appearances in both of his full seasons. A reliever who can give you a 2.22 ERA while pitching in literally half your games (80)...that's a heck of a player.
I loved this video man as a former pitcher felt like a lot of the knowledge and expertise u have in pitching could have rlly helped me when I was a kid trying to learn how to pitch.
Trevor, great outings and effort this year. People like you keep the Met fan base happy and looking for more! Thanks so much for being you, and bringing us these fun and insightful videos. Keep it up, and enjoy the off season! Looking forward to more of your stuff next season. 👍💪
As someone who isn’t too much into the mechanics and everything of pitching, i still found this video super entertaining. Trev has definitely found the sweet spot between pleasing hardcore and casual fans. Love to see it.
Sad we didn't get to see Shohei's splitter. Maybe there wasn't any highlights as impressive as these, but I think statistically it was one of the most effective pitches from any pitcher this year.
I wish we got to see degrom pitch more with a centered camera kinda like the trop camera angle. Not only do sliders look way better but fastballs look more explosive.
Me throws these nasty pitches in mlb the show The CPU: No, No, No perfect perfect homerun The Commentators: That was a hanging curve and he made him pay for it 🤣
Should've include Tanner Houck's slider in the other batter's box than caused a swing & miss by Ty France, that was probably the nastiest pitch I've ever seen
It’s not that, Our sport is used to seeing balls on a downward plane. Yours for example the release point is going down to up. Ours is going up to down. That’s all. See yours would be crazy if it changed directions and broke physics
No way you have rich hills curve over kershaws- they’re both legends but Kershaws curve is up there with aroldis fastball, marianos cutter and felixs change
as an Orioles fan it shocks me the numbers Castro puts up given how nasty he is. he has everything necessary to be elite but he just isnt there statistically
You should include subtitles that explains all these fancy terms to us baseball newbies. Great content. Very enjoyable. Just wish I understood more what you're saying. Could you do a video that just explains all ... or at least some of these terms?
@@TrevorMayBaseball You did ask for them. I did warn you that I am a baseball newbie ... but so are millions upon millions of people, if not BILLIONS worldwide. I'd say 99% of people. With that face-saving disclaimer out of the way... "fast ball" -- aren't all baseballs thrown fast? Are there really "slow balls"? I assume not as they'd be easier to hit. Or is a fast ball simply a fancy way of saying it is just a ball thrown straight? "breaking balls" -- breaking what? I assume this doesn't mean balls aimed at the batter to hit them thus break bone. "change" -- that makes no sense "side splitter" -- what?! "front door sink ball" -- I feel like you're just now making up terms "sinker" vs "slider" "that's not even located" -- what?! Located where? "97 bayou" -- oh, of course. That's very different from a 96 or 98 bayou. And why is New Orleans being brought into this? "air bender" -- probably originating somehow from the Japanese anime cartoon "change up" -- but it looked like it dipped down "v-low location" "circle change" "like a reverse slider" -- and said as if we all knew what that meant "straight change" "splitter" -- note you didn't say it was a "side splitter" ... whatever that was. "low arm slot" "snap dragon" -- WHAT?! "stingray curve ball" -- WHAT?!?!?! "more of a cutter" "more horizontal" -- as opposed to vertical??? Neither makes sense to me. "back door" -- I assume that isn't what I think it is as I'm sure you want this to be a G-rated channel. "submariner" -- Also known as a "Nemo". 😛 And all the above is from just this ONE video. I'm now watching your other videos and they're not as bad as this one was but many still had terms I didn't understand.
@@TrevorMayBaseball As I am sure you have experienced, UA-cam is pushing content creators like you to make "Short" videos. How about just make a SEPARATE short video on EACH of these wacky terms? "Gravity? What's that?" -Tyler Rogers, probably.
lmao, accurate. dude throws insane stuff
Great vid. Mets fans love your effort this season
Thank you, way more to come!
@@TrevorMayBaseball yeah good job Trevor underdog
It's actually insane how much movement is on some of these pitches at the speed they're going at

The shout out to Devers for the big wad of cha had me dying.
These pitchers are just gross lmao great stuff Trev can’t wait for more relief appearances next year!
Love this video Trevor. How many of these were thrown early while sticky substances were still prominent.
I loved this video man as a former pitcher felt like a lot of the knowledge and expertise u have in pitching could have rlly helped me when I was a kid trying to learn how to pitch.
Trevor May is the perfect combination of smart analysis and biting humor. Subscribed.

I wish all stadiums can broadcast the games like the Trop gives us, Truist Park, Fenway. Just straight up CF.
Your channel is awesome. The off-season will fly by if you post regularly

i really enjoyed this video. Keep it up man.
Keep these coming trev :) loved it
the only pitcher named trevor with a vlog!!! great stuff
Very fun watch. Would love more of these! Shohei Ohtani's splitter needs some love.
I wish we got to see degrom pitch more with a centered camera kinda like the trop camera angle. Not only do sliders look way better but fastballs look more explosive.
imagine having to face chris sale for like 5-7 innings, then tanner houck comes in and its the complete inverse. no thank you.
Love this!!! How about the fact that deGrom throws that nasty, unhittable slider on the black, and it's FREAKING 95MPH!!!
He’s just… better.
Graterols 103 mph sinker should’ve been in here
This was your best video. Nice job. LGM
Tommy edman didn't even take the bat off his shoulders lol 8:52
Charlie Morton’s curveball not being on here is criminal
I think he could have his own video.
Adam Ottavino got that signature slide piece
Can we get a 2022 video, maybe even best strikeouts, break down pitch progression and how they went after hitters.
I think sandy Alcantara change up/2-seam combo is so nasty
Please do more of these. Hilarious
Me throws these nasty pitches in mlb the show
The CPU: No, No, No perfect perfect homerun
The Commentators: That was a hanging curve and he made him pay for it 🤣
Awesome video. Would've loved to see Loup included in there. Or one of Jake's back foot sliders that get lefties spinning
Good call! Next time!
I hereby declare 2 seam fastballs are the coolest pitches in baseball. Your cousin Dustin has an insane one too.
Part 2’s gotta have Logan Webbs slider/sinker
This could be divided into before/after the foreign substance ban. I think that would be dope
Really need a round 2 camilo doval deserves a spot!
Came here to say this! His stuff was NASTY the last month of the season!
Great Video.
Should've include Tanner Houck's slider in the other batter's box than caused a swing & miss by Ty France, that was probably the nastiest pitch I've ever seen
Great vid go Boston
I wish I was jake degrom too man
Oh my god Rich Hill turned that ball into a boomerang
Make more of these my guy
Part 2 incoming.
Aaron Nola's 2 seam when on is one of the best in the league.
Breaking down, breaking balls while wearing mascara
Hey trev how does it feel to be apart of the cardinals record 17 win streak? Just wondering, love the content
Waiting for Part 6
Should of showed Good Ole' Uncle Charlie from Adam Wainright
You should see the slider matt brash has
Dude, Dustin may 2 seam is crazy
Are we getting a breakdown of your arsenal this off-season? Those are my favorite vids to watch :D
Yep! A new one in the works!
Trev do you think you could hit 101 if you put crazy amounts of time into velo training?
It'll happen.
Alek Manoah is nasty🤮🔥
What about dustin may?
Might see Shohei's splitter at part 2. 😅
15:43 it’s funny y’all think rise balls are crazy but softball has been pitching them since the beginning of the sport

Tyler Rogers throws South to North

Trevor Richards' changeup should have been on here.
I feel as bad for Buster as I do the batters when Tyler pitches.
It’s literally a Chris sale slider from a right hander
Aaron Bummer and Carlos Rodon?
Ohhhhh they in the next one!
Also on the topic of White Sox pitchers: Lucas Giolito's changeups
Noticed a lot of Mets pitchers. Hmmm...
best lefty curveball in the bigs for years? Hill's is nasty, but that would have to be Kershaw
Tanner Houck is absolutely filthy! so much Ace potential. Alex Cora has no idea how to use him tho smh
Also Evoldi shouldve been on here but thats ok
There's a lot of people that should, good thing we can do a bunch!
i better see mortons curveball where it went between the batters legs in this. smh
You are missing a ton of pitches from Jonathon loiasiaga
How did this video not feature one Ohtani splitter?
Because there’s 4 more planned! Maybe I can release it when he wins MVP?
@@TrevorMayBaseball That would make for good timing! Dude better win the MVP, there is not a player in the league more deserving this year.

I think he's similar to me, command is lost at times.
Dustin Mays 2 seamer
Charlie Morton and Max Fried curveballs gotta make an appearance in the next one
Oh yeah, great call.
@@TrevorMayBaseball if I’m not mistaken, Morton struck a guy out on a curve that ended up going in between his legs. I need to look that up.

Shane Mcclanahan…. My names not even that Irish……. And I’m Irish
Can you do more nastiest pitches video maybe some of yours next time
666th like for these demons on the mound😈
Wow no brusdar
Not this time around, next one!
Trevor next time you do this take a look at Astros rookie Louis Garcia sinker that thing is disgusting!
Actually McClanahan is a Scottish last-name
Where is brusdar
Who tf was the guy on the white Sox? I’ve never seen that man in 2021
