- The age old debate, Smarty Pants style. Which form of bending from the universe of Avatar (The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra) is the best. What would you want to have to exist in the world they inhabit... and why? That's what I ponder today. Enjoy.
My favourite is Water because of its adaptability and expansive amount of sub skills such as ice, steam, spirit, blood and cloud bending.
Same.
My favorite is earth because of all the things you can build with it.
Agree
Mine air bc it just seems really powerfull if you think of it
I feel like air has been underrated here. Of course it doesn’t seem offensive, especially in ATLA. They were nomads, they didn’t really do physical conflict. There’s a reason that Zaheer was one of the most formidable opponents Korra faced. He killed the Earth Queen by suffocating her. It allows you to go under water, which was key to the invasion on the day of black sun. Gyatso was also able to defeat a number of boosted firebenders. And in season 4 of Korra, the airbenders create a tornado, that helps defeat a portion of Kuvira’s army.
The funniest part is you can do all of those with water, but what you cant do with air is control someone like a puppet with
Honestly yeah the first thing I thought about was just taking all of the air out of your opponent and suffocating them. It’s very effective and would kill them easily
@@curterneyh5312 I love earth bending, and I agree that air is under rated. Air bending might be the deadliest.
My favorite elements:
1. Earth - the best overall versatility
2. Fire - very cool looking
3. Water - very flexible
4. Air - Very deadly
I agree that air might be the most deadliest bending combat.
Taking away the oxygen. Cheap tactic.
Changing the air pressure.
@@lapislovesgaming8739 yeah, but we also have to note the limitations of moon-buffs and water being limited in most inland area. Air is more readily available.
Water is my favorite. Unlike fire and air, it needs a source. While that should make it weaker, the fact that water is everywhere makes it all the more dangerous.
Earth is almost as readily available as water, but also very heavy and tough. Not to mention metalbending and seismic sense, which not only expland an already powerful element but provide a 360 vision of everything touching the ground even by proxy and being even more resilient against the other 3 elements (though metal does get hotter faster so the higher melting point is moot if you use it as armor). Add lava-bending onto all of that and you have a terrifying force to be reckoned with.
@@determinedhelicopter2948 True. I imagine that if in the air/space, it may be easier to waterbend, thoufh. Metalbending seems like it takes more time/discipline vs pulling out moisture from the air (not to say it doesn't take practice).
air and fire both need a source, just because you cant see it, doesnt mean its not there
@@theendofthestart8179 Firebenders don't carry around fire like waterbenders carry around water--not to mention they actually breathe fire at times, so I don't think they have a source. Air also seems to be generated because there's if they took it from the atmosphere every time they bended, the pressure would change.
Hama pulled water out of thin air + there are ; venders in the show who bloodbended without the full moon and also water is present in everything including the air. You can also stop someone’s heart but anyways. It’s clearly the best
Exactly. He forgot to mention that.
If we are going by Avatar (and not Korra) I would go with either Fire or Earth bending in being the stronger bending powers. But I'd say Earth Bending is OP because of the versions of Lava and Metal bending being offshoots or Earth bending.
Kyoshi lavabends
oops did you forget that you yourself typed *"(and not Korra)"*
If you’re looking at elemental strengths I feel you need to involve Legend of Korra. Elements are looked into so much deeper in the show. Blood bending at will, metal and lava bending, zaheers form of airbending, etc.
Korra just contradicted and made the sub elements worse. All you have to do is point and shoot lightning instead of generating it, and metal benders are just spiderman, bloodbenders basically just have the force. The limitations to the sub elements made them cool and balanced
I do want to make a argument for air!
So one thing we need to remember is that until season 3 legend of Korra, everyone we see using air bending, is using it in a passive way, not offensively. The air nomads are passives, they rather run away then to fight, they have to think creatively.
Season 3 of korra is when we see them actually using air as a weapon, so someone should look at the fight of season 3 and tell us how well they do!
Also, another point for air, is that by the time the story start, air nomads have been wipe out for 100 years. So anyone who is living in morden day will have trouble adapting to this fighting style. It's fighting style you never seen before and only a select few people have, 1 if we are taking about the original show and unless you pull a zuko or a jou and actively chase that person for months. I don't see how you will be able to adapt to the air bending fighting style!
I think water is the most powerful because being able to immobilise your enemies by increasing them into ice even if you’re not near like a lake or river just take some from plants plus we see water going through rocks and it is also a nice balance between offense and defence
Theory: technically, couldn’t gabe just make unlimited villains, if he were to de transform, re transform and akumitize someone else? I mean it works for Myarua, because she’s made sentimonster whilst feast was still a living being (the butterfly in hero’s day)
She didn’t make Feast, that’s why she was able to make another sentimonster. One Senti per user.
Logically, Gabe should be bound by the same rules.
He didn't mention at all how some water benders are able to take moisture from the air and use that as water If you're able to take water from the air Pretty much like the earth benders in the earth is a sense That you almost always be near oxygen Which you can Take the moisture from and use.
There was a short where all the main characters argue which is the best element and no element wins because all of the elements each have their own strengths, weaknesses and ways to overcome each weakness. I think that conclusion applies to this argument no element is any stronger or weaker than any other element.
not much fun of an answer though is it?
The fire nation only was able to succeed to defeat the air nomads becuz they were pacifist
Edit : Also blood bending is rare becuz this bending technique isn't practiced and if this is practiced and wide spread ,it can be a common skill
Yeah kataram, whose husband is the avatar and her brother big too, did from what we saw serious efforts to keep bloodbending from getting used or accepted. Else it could be.
For water, you could argue that the water vapour in the air makes it useful.
I feel that water is the best, but it depends on the bender like hama she could pull water from the moisture of in air and pull it from plants as well. In good hands waterbending can be a devastating power. And I think if you're creative enough these very little u can't do.
Air is very good for survival but I do agree it does lack offensive power
Fair point about metal bending but the same can be said about lightning in Korra as it isnt as rare anymore if common factory workers are using it. Plus youre really underestimating how powerful it is because atla is one of the ONLY shows Ive seen that doesnt downplay how dangerous and powerful it truly is (5 times hotter than the surface of the sun) as it's a one shot in all cases. Generally I fully agree earthbending is the most useful and Id also choose it if I got to pick one but fire would be my second option because it truly is the most powerful at the highest levels because try dodging something traveling a 3rd the speed of light and the sound it makes comes seconds after it kills you. On top of this theres also combustion bending, a technique so powerful that it has your opponents on the defensive 100% of the time we've seen it used and the only force that can stop you is yourself! Like legit sparky boom man out here had the whole squad doing everything in their power to run because they admitted they couldn't fight him, the explosions were so powerful that Aang's airbending which normally neutralizes or overpowers fire could barely hold it back enough to give the gang leeway to flee
Probably already said but Giatzo killed an entire room full of Sozen Comet powered soldiers, by himself. And he is a pacifist, he has never experienced combat once in his entire life, not to this level of life and death of war. So not only is a monk of the Air nomads able to defeat an entire group of soldiers specifically bred to kill him, and have been training for years, but he does so without a single burn mark. That's right, he did it by taking them with him, by removing all the oxygen in the room, not even getting hit once. The power over air combat superiority is not something to be truffled with. That said, I believe the power to freeze anything made of water gives the combat advantage to water, but I still favour and root for Earth as the best element.
In puppetmaster hama literally showed US that you can make Water from air so there shoudnt be a problem.
At the highest level of bending, water is the best by far due to blood bending and healing.
On a average level, earth bending would be most ideal, that why there is the most of them.
Air bending has the best spiritual connection. (plus flying)
While fire nation has it's most advantages for society (fire and electricity) and that's why they have the strongest army
Earth bending is the best because you can like, build a lot of cities and stuff with it
Fuck the fighting I can bend my house into existance
Water Tribe!! 🥶
Smarty pants in Korra a guy killed the earth queen by sucking air out of her
well yeah but water benders can also instantly kill you with blood bending and in the avatar state episode (s2 ep1 of the last airbender) we see the general guy suck katara into the ground which couldve easily killed her. also fire has lightning
i feel like all the bending types have insta kills so i just ignore them
Definitely water. I think it’s the most useful & diverse.
I would say earth bc of lava bending or airbending bc you never run out and you can run on walk , move fast, and if your a master the only limit is your imagination and you can Astral project
My ranking would be:
4 Air, the only way to kill someone is by using suffocation, but you need to have the enemy standing still
3 Fire, deadly, but very easy to counter/block. It’s basic and versatile.
2 Water, Bloodbending, cryokenisis, healing, spirit bending. This is cool, but all these abilities are rare and if you do have it, bloodbending, no one would want to be your friend anymore
1 Earth: Create, Destroy, you can create tools and armor out of the ground and shoot piercing spikes out of the ground. Or stone hands. Water can bloodbend, so can earth bonebend? Or skinbend?
Whenever you think fire is that good, remember how Socka, Suki, and Toph pretty much single-handedly took down an entire airship fleet of supercharged fire benders.
If we're talking like what's better on average, probably earth, but if we're asking what has the best peak, then its water for sure.
Overall great video
For practical uses I'd give it to Earth bending
But for offensive purposes I'd give it to air. Cuz in the hands if a non air nomad using air gives flight, enhanced speed, suffocation, and air can defend pretty well vs the other elements, but it all depends on if air is being used to defend or non lefal or out right take out an opponent as shown with Zaheer.
Hm, I think you make some good, fair and valid points and opinions, personally I don’t have a preference, but what you say does make some sense, still i think the Strength of the Element mostly depends on the Bender.
what`s funny is that i just finished watching it for the 70th time.Waterbending and bloodbending is the best.
4 Rankings, Combat, Survival, Versatilty and Overall Bending
Combat
1 Earth
2 Fire
3 Air
4 Water
Survial
1 Air
2 Earth
3 Water
4 Fire
Versatilty
1 Water
2 Earth
3 Air
4 Fire
Overall bending
1 Earth
2 Air
3 Water
4 Fire
Argue all you want I agree some rankings are a toss up but this is my view overall
Day 13 of asking for a video on Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu
Now I hope that you can see that each element has its own strengths and weaknesses.
BUT FIRE IS THE BEST!!!
I have a question:
Can water benders boil water??
Edit:Also water can be both offensive and defensive ways.
They can unfreeze ice, so heating it is entirely in their power, and im pretty sure Katara has created steam as cover before, like the episode where she was helping the fishing village, dunno if they could do it to a point where they could potentially boil something alive but i dont see why not 🤷♂️
I think they can steam it, so likly.
Smarty Pants this is not related to avatar but I have a recommendation i think you will like
Its called 86
But you can use the air too? As a water bender water js everywhere right? Oxygen has water aswell? And even if im wrong you can still use water from ur own body like katara did while trying to break out of one of the wooden cages because of you know sweat. But i still think earth is strongest 👀
My favorite element is water because healing is a fascinating ability.
fire
Even if you don't carry water with you you can use plants and trees
Air can suffocate people..
Air suffocation is cool and all, but it's too slow and it seems highly unlikely that a person can suffocate more than 1-2 person at the same time. On the other hand, blood bending can hands down take out dozens of people at the same time unless you are the avatar.
Only air suffocation can be used with or without a full moon so I guess it’s still pretty evened out
aa
I would say Earth
Slay
Off hand I'd go with air. U control the air around u, move super fast, can fly with a glider, & can remove air from your opponent's breathing & then suffocate your opponent. Airbenders are non-violent but they can certainly use it if needed. Your opponent can't attack if they can't breathe plus they can't hit u. Even Toph would lose to Aang in a one-on-one fight with no Avatar state
Air/blood bending are the best for combat if you get the upper hand.
If an air bender or blood bender gains leverage for a second, the fight ends.
@@Tethloach1 got to go with taking one's breath away as all airbenders could do this. Bloodbending is very rare and to my knowledge only 3 beings were capable of bloodbending at any time
I take airbending pluss I think it depends on the precision and skill of the bender I mean you can't just expect you go fight someone thinking you'll win with no skill and game plan air takes it
My personal favorite is water, but I have to say Air is strongest. Just suffocate them and they die. Like in Legend of Korra. Heck, expand the bubble and you could kill multiple people at a time since the problem really isn’t lack of oxygen, but too much carbon dioxide.
the only reason that the queen died to suffocation was because she wasn't a bender, and earth bender simply throws a rock at u and you have to stop suffocating to defend yourself
Sword and fan.
You forget that you can take water from air. Hama taught Katara that.
Idk bro Zaheer showed he can take the air out of a person's body so that pretty OP
I'd be an earthbender.
Can you do miraculous deflagation
Remember when they had an Avatar short asking this very question?
Some elements being stronger then others actually makes sense if you think about it, I have 3 theories about it
1 fire benders relied on military tactics, population and strategy to be a dominant force in the war, air benders never really used there’s for combat accept Zaheer, and earth benders relied on giant walls to keep them from the war will water benders on the other had relied most on there own bending in order to survive making them more likely to discover All the secret types and tricks of there element like blood bending.
Another reason could be an imbalance, Maby with air for example all benders would have the same potential will with water some benders would be stronger then other benders this theory only really comes from that time Jeong Jeong said (some) water benders have healing abilities, Maby Katara and Paku are genetically gifted even for water benders.
Another could be a simple imbalance as Aang being trapped in ice, the moon spirit being dead for 1 minute and all the air benders being dead etcetra could of thrown bending out of ballence.
like i think water bending is the strongest with the max abilities it has but for the average bender earth is the strongest and best possible use for the average bender not the really above average and the reason why i think water bending is the best bending type with all the abilities is well it is obviously because of blood bending
My favorite is earth because of the nation as well as its many capabilities.
Youre trying to figure out what is the best between rock paper and scissors, there isnt a best.
For combat I’d say fire for everyday use either air or water
Water, not only bcaue i like water but the versitility. Seriously , it can hear, freeze, control water, get water from a lot, ice, even steam. Its the element of adaptability with a lot useful skills.
Water is the best
Through i want to reming that air normads are pacifist, zaheer, not an aiir normad did sufficate the earth queen for example. Airbending isnt shown that dangerous often , through gyatsu did definitly kill that soldiers, becaue its pacifists fo the most part doing the training.
Also the only reason blood bending was rare was because katara made it illegal, some local LITERSLLY taught a few 8 year olds and they mastered it in a few months- without a full moon. If you practise it blood bending is overpowered
Oh my goodness, I literally asked this question to my friend yesterday 😂.
I would probably say Water bending is the best and most useful
