      That’s nonsense. We’re all gonna need more than diet to get well.

    Interesting comments about how histamine intolerance can make too much stomach acid. I am carnivore and everyone tells me I need HCL if I get Gerd or heartburn but when I try that it burns so bad. My husband has been saying for years that I make too much stomach acid but I didn’t believe him because everyone said it was low stomach acid. I also appreciate the comment that if you have carbohydrates malabsorption than histamine intolerance goes with that. I have disaccharide enzyme deficiency and can’t eat dairy, sugar or carbs and that is why I am carnivore. Such a helpful video. Thank you.

    Great illustration and explanation of the foods high in histamine and how to modify diet. I love many foods high in histamine, especially dairy. Luckily I get no gut symptoms from eating aged cheeses, but kefir is challenging. So are other fermented foods such as kombucha and kimchi. Looking forward to learning from you next video. Kind regards miss Reimara

    I have been binge watching all your videos! Thank you for your balanced approach and detailed analysis! I have a question about extreme constipation…do you have any videos addressing this? My husband gets to the point where he literally doesn’t want to eat anything else because his whole torso hurts and is “full”. Does fasting help?

    Don’t get me wrong, I fully understand your good intentions, but I partially don’t understand why you functional medicine advocates would recommend a low-histamine diet instead of highly researching and educating on fixing the root cause. The diet is a bandaid, and nothing else, if we’re being honest.
    So, what are root causes that aren’g mold or chronic infections? Why are apparently so many people suffering from this? Have you seen a drastic increase since COVID and related vaccines? Or has it been a common issue before this? If so, don’t you think small or large intestinal microbes play a big role? What do you think FMT can do for this condition? My problems started after a series of food poisonings and the cholinergic pruritus (burning itch incredibly painful everytime my sweat glands receive the nervous signals to start sweating, multiple times per day) has completely ruined my life. I lost everything and I’m only 26. I strongly believe I can recover from this but I’ve tried so many thing and no one sems to know anything. Doctors in my country (Belgium) are the most worthless uninformed l0sers I’ve ever encountered

      I’m so sorry you’ve been going through this. It sounds devastating. To be clear, treatment doesn’t have to end with the low histamine diet - it’s just a tool used to assess 1. If a person has histamine issues in the absence of testing (or positive serum results, which aren’t always present for some who are intolerant or sensitive) and 2. A way to achieve relief from symptoms and raise quality of life. By no means does a person have to stop there! But the roadmap isn’t always clear with how to progress to identifying the root cause - could take a lot of trial and error, medications, testing, especially if resources and the person’s medical team are limited - so there’s no need for that person to suffer all the way through that discovery period.

      Come to Australia mate. Sadly they’re worse.
      I’d focus on motility. That seems to be the driver for SIBO & numerous issues

    I have a question albeit it does not pertain to this video. I have been for many years now referring to Dr R's Low Sulfur Diet PDF. On it there is a list of ''avoid'' supplements which includes L-Methionine. Thus, I wonder would Selenomethionine be allowed?
    It has now been 10 years and 1 month that I have been extremely poorly. At least 9 of my 11 body systems are greatly affected now, I am now emaciated yet live in a capital €uro City with zero medical intervention (over 4 years now since any contact with the evil that calls itself a GP that just loves to gaslight the ''hell' into you). The catalyst for my downfall? I am certain having an MRI with a mouthful of Amalgams (one of which had melted down the side of my tooth and was going into my gum), argh. Great science paper out there supporting this.

    Question: I hear you when you say that I can eventually get off of a low histamine diet. Is that also true for eating foods with emulsifiers?

    • @DrRuscioDC
      @DrRuscioDC  4 місяці тому +1

      It depends. Do you mean ones added to processed foods? There are natural emulsifiers - so you could make emulsions are home that might be safe. In general, I’d advise everyone with food sensitivity issues of any kind to avoid processed foods as much as possible

    • @yvichenj333

      @@DrRuscioDC yes, I am using it as an elemental diet. Okay! I ask because I’m having constipation while using elemental heal. What about using an artichoke and ginger supplement to get things moving?

    • @DrRuscioDC
      @DrRuscioDC  4 місяці тому +1

      @@ashleyflorez7172 Yes, pro-motility agents are usually fine to use during an elemental diet. But it’s very normal to not have bowel movements, or to have watery movements during the process - the formula is low residue.

    Great video. What if you batch cook meals and then freeze them straight away? Is histamine less likely to build on them meals?

    • @DrRuscioDC
      @DrRuscioDC  4 місяці тому +1

      Freezing fresh food can reduce the likelihood, yes, though unfortunately almost any food storage contributes. Your idea is probably one of the safest. Diet is so challenging for histamine intolerance. So much for meal-prepping, right?

      Sometimes healing the gut does reduce sensitivities. But it’s generally a long and strict process to achieve that healing.
