I remember watching the Stones as a kid and never understood why Mick performed the way he did with the exaggerated facial expressions and flamboyant body gestures. Until…, I watched this video, listened to the lyrics and understood the picture he was painting with this story of heartbreak and yearning. Any man that has been young and been broken up with by someone they really dug a lot can relate. He performs to the point of absurdity but it is a perfect analogy of how we look and feel when we go through something like this at an inexperienced and young age. Mick is a genius and understands story telling and performative art. IMO, this version of the song is better than the album cut because of Mick’s performance, a certified banger! Sorry for the word salad, I just appreciate this video so much.

I have a really good childhood friend, and when we were growing up and discovering music we for some reason liked this song a lot. We used to sing along and laugh. No reason, it just made us happy. It was such a great time and I miss him a lot. Our lives went different ways. There wasn't any conflict nor anything, just life, you know? Different paths. But this song makes me think of him. I wish he is having a happy life and I am thankful for being part of mine, even though it was for just a brief period! Thank you friend!

In the early days, the reason I liked the band was the sound of the bass and drums, Bill and Charlie, not Jagger, latter on Taylor. Brian was an ass and Woods a cheer leader. Now, they has lost it all.

    LYRICS
I've been holdin' out so long
    I've been sleepin' all alone
    Lord, I miss you
I've been hanging on the phone
    I've been sleeping all alone
I want to kiss you sometime
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh
Well, I've been haunted in my sleep
You've been starrin' in my dreams
    Lord, I miss you, child
I've been waitin' in the hall
    Been waitin' on your call
    Your phone rings
It's just some friends of mine that say
    "Hey, what's the matter, man?
We're gonna come around at twelve
With some Puerto Rican girls that's just dyin' to meet you
We're gonna bring a case of wine
Hey, let's go mess and fool around
You know, like we used to"

    Oh everybody waits so long
Oh baby, why you wait so long?
Won't you come on, come on
    I've been walking Central Park
    Singin' after dark
    People think I'm crazy
    Stumbling on my feet
    Shuffling through the street
Asking people, "What's the matter with you, boy?"
Sometimes I want to say to, to myself
    Sometimes I say
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
    Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
    I won't miss you, child
I guess I'm lying to myself
It's just you and no one else
Lord, I won't miss you, child
You've just been blottin' out my mind
    Foolin' on my time
No, I won't miss you, baby, yeah

@@mikebarooshian7255 Oh yes absolutely! I read somewhere that after Bill left I read in an interview with Keith and Mick that they said Charlie became the glue that kept them together. But no one could replace Bill! He was also the glue! Thanks for the response! 🙂

@@YodaBannon I heard it was over from the day Bill left they knew it was over they just wanted to have concerts because there’s so much money to Make once Wyman left the stones stones were never the same and they lost the sing Wyman put in the stones sound it slowly slowly all went downhill from there Charlie Maybe have been the glue to keep the stones together but the true Stones were never the true stones without Bill Wyman just listen to what Wyman did in the song Miss You Start me up Paint it black 19th nervous breakdown 2000 light years from home there current bass player is no Wyman and they became garbage for a long long time and now Charlie is gone gone gone so the band is officially over for good no Bill no Charlie no Stones the whole band should of called it quits after steel wheels retire in the early 1990’S

I can't see anaemic whiffle from the current charts being this fondly remembered several decades on because it's soulless mass produced cash grabbing.
