(Lyrics)
I've been holding out so long
I've been sleeping all alone
Lord I miss you
I've been hanging on the phone
I've been sleeping all alone
I want to kiss you
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh
Well, I've been haunted in my sleep
You've been starring in my dreams
Lord I miss you
I've been waiting in the hall
Been waiting on your call
When the phone rings
It's just some friends of mine that say,
"Hey, what's the matter man?
We're gonna come around at twelve
With some Puerto Rican girls that are just dyin' to meet you.
We're gonna bring a case of wine
Hey, let's go mess and fool around
You know, like we used to"
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah
Oh everybody waits so long
Oh baby why you wait so long
Won't you come on! Come on!
I've been walking in Central Park
Singing after dark
People think I'm crazy
I've been stumbling on my feet
Shuffling through the street
Asking people, "What's the matter with you boy?"
Sometimes I want to say to myself
Sometimes I say
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
Oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
I won't miss you child
I guess I'm lying to myself
It's just you and no one else
Lord I won't miss you child
You've been blotting out my mind
Fooling on my time
No, I won't miss you, baby, yeah
Lord, I miss you child
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah
Lord, I miss you child
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah
Lord, I miss you child
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah aaah
Aaah aaah aaah aaah
This is SO funky! You can’t help but move your whole body to the beat! Wicked bass too. It’s so GREAT!!!
RIP Charlie, amazing drums!
yep def wicked level of funky
@@erinsable I like that: "wicked level of funky". Great description.
Sultans of swing Dire Straits
Is in my opinion the funkiest song by any band ever. 😂

This shit is dirty
This song could be released today and still would be a #1 hit. Timeless
Our friends in their 20s might start listening to something besides Rap so of course we can't. :P
Yup
Hip hop is music?
Havesta Peeler modern rap / hip hop is so bad man.... coming from a 24 year old who’s parents listened to good music :)
@Havesta Peeler and country country isn't country anymore and jazz.. well jazz was never good so no comparison available
No joke, I'm 20 and thank God I started listening to this...
Welcome to music!!
ROCK ON
The Rolling Stones won't let you down!
I'm 36 in March have alwsys been listening to this and other great bands!
Then unsensical ideas that folks younger than 40 something or what not is completely nonsense because actually a hell of a lot of us really do know and understand this music!!
I would suggest to all of these supposed elders to get off their high horses affective immediately!!
Your generation has so much BAD music... you need this. Glad you are thanking God, tho. :)
Love it
My grandpa loved rolling stones. At his funerals, recently, we played his favorite music. This one. This music brings me back some good vibes with him. Goodbye, grandpa.
I'm sorry for your loss♡

I have listened to the Stones since I was 13yrs old. Now I'm 66yrs old and I'm still rocking out to my boys!!!! Definitely the best rock n roll band in the world!! Yes I am including our beloved Charlie Watts.!! You are so missed!!!!❤🤗❤😎

Summer 1978. The day this album came out, I was 14 and rode my bicycle as fast as I could to my local record store called Stereo Stop and bought this record as soon as the store opened. 45 years later still one of my favorite albums ever.
I was 17 what a time but must admit not really a stones fan pre real blues
@@santander6317 I saw the Stones live at Shea Stadium in NYC in October 1989. When they began the opening riff to “Honkey Tonk Woman” the place went wild. Next thing we knew an inflatable woman the size of a Thanksgiving Day Parade float began rising next to the stage. Back in 1989 Mick, Keith, Charlie & Company still at the top of their game.
I'm going on 74 this fall and I remember listening to the Stone's in highschool and all that highschool implied. Dates, dances, football, basketball, my 1st true love all in the 60's. It was sweet innocence and I am still that sweet innocent girl who never grew up. That's why I stone with the Stones. Kids grown, grandbabies pretty well grown, it's just me and now it's my turn!
Kool, keep on keeping on !❤😂❤
I’m 57 yr old home owner and I still don’t feel grown up. I thought I would after my 1st child at age 29 but no
The bass really makes this song great. And Mick's vocals of course.
You know a bass man, even a master as badass as can't make it alone.
@@lisaweaver986 wut
agree with you, what a master bass in this song
Keith’s rhythm guitar should not be forgotten
Alright now that we’ve covered every instrument, can we just agree that everything makes this song great?
It's hypnotic, you can't resist the groove, I love it.
I agree.
ispinimor I listen to mostly heavy metal and I couldn't agree more. As soon as the tune hit, my foot started tappin and my head started bobbin.

It puts you into a trance and I can't help but get lost in the tune
One of my many favorite songs.
As a drummer, I can tell you that the drummer deserves some praise!
My youngest son is a awesome drummer never took a lesson just started playing like he was born to be drummer at a very young age
whoooo who hee whooo?
Yes the drumming on this track is PERFECTION it sets the mood, tight and slick. Love it.
Super simple but tight and hard punching. The best drumming imo. So many drummers today want fast complex time signatures and large fills. While it’s impressive technically, it’s just not the same feel or groove

RIP Charlie Watts, thank your for 60 years of greatness.
God Bless him.

Rest in peace, Sir Charlie Watts.
That’s when I started listening to them 60 years ago bought their 1st album in 1964 I’m 76 this year (2024)
Bill Wyman is a genius with his baselines. Most times I take time to learn them but something about this one makes me just forget it and get down with just enjoying the song because it is just so perfectly made.
I'm 73 years old still rockin to the Stones & miss all kinds of folks from back in the day. Only the good Lord knows where they are now.
I'm 60 and I've always loved the Rolling Stones
Wya ?? I'll shoot thru and we can talk thru the generational gap with a brew and some bud & how this music still speaks to us

Mick and Keith are melodic geniuses. They've given us some of the best hooks and riffs in rock n roll history.
Can"t tell you how many times I find myself humming Stones tunes around the house to...to myself :)
+Shane Anthony true but when Mick Taylor moved in they really rocked!
That's with knowing the fact that they were able to remember the music after drug induced comas tried to keep them down!
+Ruben Torres you know when someone has no experience with drugs when he says something like that

Oh man, so many memories of this song from one of the cassette mixed tapes my dad would play on road trips, I feel young all over again.
Barb Rodrigues It's weird, because I'm 21, but I feel like I'm 91 in alot of ways.
I'm fifteen and hate this modern push of a button crap but that's not real music real music has emotion and a sense of awareness towards ones mood of the song and self and this type of music gives it to you
+ZachTalksMusic 94 That's an excellent way to waste your life away.

Hi there friend
Hi brother
Tru dat! Toronto, ON, CA. Saw them in Buffalo when there were NO NO Fun Police. Lol
Hello dear
Hey friend
My dad died december the 10th he loved The Rolling Stones, I'm here because I miss him.
One of the things I am more proud of is that when The Rolling Stones came to my country I could pay his ticket to see them. One of my favourite memories of him is when he came back from the concert, a 67 year old man as happy as a 16 year old after watching his idols.
God bless you and him. A lot of songs remind me of my dad too. He was a Vietnam vet, he died from cancer probably from exposure to Agent Orange. Hopefully we'll get to see them again someday. 🙂
How are you
Heartfelt and outstanding ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My dad is African American would have this playing in our house and my aunt had her little dance moves she'd do to this song. This song made it onto the R&B charts so black radio had this song in rotation. To this day this song hits hard. There were quite a few white artist that crossed over to R&B and David Bowie's song "Fame" was one. But of Course The Doobie Brothers, Leo Sayer, and others were rock pop R-B infused so our home was filled with all types of musical genres.
hhhhhuubbbhh
Cool, man!
I hope you listen to the country genre of that time period. It's a lot of good music to be enjoyed there also..
You’d like some of Black Sabbath’s lesser credited works like Hand of Doom. The instrumentation is very RnB and Planet Caravan is the best interpretive experimental jazz you’ll ever hear imo.
Well Mick and the boys were crazy about R&B anyway. I gotta say I have a lot of respect for the stones . They never stoled music from any R&B artist. 😊
Took my Mom to Steel Wheels tour in 1989 the first night, took my dad the 2nd night.
Mind blown, loved every minute of both shows.
Mom and I picked our feet up the crowd was so packed together going into Market Square Arena.
So funky, so bluesy. Can’t help but move. I love it

I got to see the Stones in concert a couple years back, and it was an awesome experience. Mick Jagger's almost 80 years old now, but he was making moves as though he was still in his 20s. And when they played this song and the bass player got to go all out, it was amazing
